What I remember most about Shadows of the Damned is the doors with baby faces on them being opened with strawberries. Then Johnson explaining that strawberries are disgusting and made of ground up baby tongues.

Solium Infernum is a 4x strategy game with strong emphasis on multiplayer politics, set in Hell. Think Sid Meier's Civilization going through a teenage goth phase.

Escape from Hell was an old DOS game, IIRC, using the same or similar engine to Bards Tale. You could get famous people to join your group, and could fight televangelist. It wasn't great, but interesting idea

If this were a top 10, "Jericho" whoudl take the cake. The idea of hell as to being trapped in a endless space- time loop reliving our own darkest history (wars, insanity, persecution, depravity) is certainly the most appropriate. Please come back "Team Silent", join with Mr. Barker and make another masterpiece.

@@Boogie_the_catThere are no universal consensus or convention on what is REALLY a videogame genre. Most of that nomenclature comes from gaming press, media and critics. So it’s not « dumb » to say a metroidvania since it is pretty much the canvas for many game such as Hollow Knight for example and has been since the 90’s…
