Given the current situation and everyone stuck in one location. How about a top 10 list of movies with only one set

Try to be understanding. There is a big difference between horror movies causing physical and mental discomfort in a person to watching a cringy film that causes mild annoyance or eye rolling. Some people are very receptive and sensitive to violence and gore cause they put themselves in the shoes of the character. They feel like they are going through what the character is and so their flight or fight response gets turned on...it comes out as vomiting, feeling nauseous and overall high anxiety...which doesn't make for a good sunday evening experience. People who like horror have their f or f response on but they are able to separate themselves from the character and/or remind themselves its fake continuously. So their heartbeat goes up in certain scenes where they are really concentrated but then it goes down as well.

Well said, although I've watched it plenty of times. I first watched it while my wife was doing the ironing. I asked her if she was alright if I put a horror film on (she isn't a fan of subtitles and she definitely does not like horror!) She said she was fine, as she was watching something on her phone. After the massacre of the family at the start, I could see that she was interested and had stopped watching her phone. A little later and she'd given up altogether on the ironing. By the end she was shocked and pretty disturbed by the whole experience. She most definitely wouldn't EVER want to watch Martyrs again haha! I loved it, it's a great movie (a great example of the wave of French Extreme Cinema that came out at that time) but I watched Texas Chainsaw, Zombie Flesheaters and The Exorcist as a young kid (along with a bunch of other Video Nasties that were banned when I was only 10!) so I am pretty immune to violence/horror.

The killer eats eyes and decapitates people, so he can stick a certain bodypart of himself in their heads, at one time while sitting on a huge pile of rotting corpses. Enough said...) 2 Human Centipede 2 3 A Serbian Film 4 The Snare (i am afraid of heights and claustrophobic, so a movie about being trapped in the penthouse of a high rise building, totally freaked me out already before watching) 5 Evil Dead (2013) 6 Midnight Meat Train 7 Terrifier (clowns are creepy a.f. anyways, especially when they never ever talk or make any sounds) 8 Bite (2015) 9 I spit on your grave ( 2011 and 2013) 10 The Collector and The Collection (both movies are equally awesome)

And Salo was vile for zero reason - the whole film is long brutality for very little metaphorical reason!
@christophermerlot33664 жыл бұрын
Salo has a ton of historical relevance. De Sade through the eyes of fascism and Salo was the last place in Italy to give up support for Mussolini. It was also where Pasolini's brother was killed during WW2 so I sometimes think that whole movie is an artistic act of revenge.
@Ashtarte3D4 жыл бұрын
It wasn't for zero reason, just very base reasons that nobody needed to think about. It was supposed to try and show some of the mindless brutality committed under Hitler and Mussolini but we all really don't want to know what awful shit those monsters did. And no matter how bad it was what Japan did to Koreans during WWII is infinitely worse. Seriously if you don't know already DO NOT LOOK INTO IT.
