Never, EVER, put oil on the gaskets. The only time you should do that is on a filter gasket because it spins. You’re asking for a premature leak doing that to compression gaskets, especially rubbing it on like that.

How does one know which gasket kit to get? Whole or half gasket kit is what I mean.

No more leaks from the valve cover. It has developed a small thermostat gasket leak though, so I will be repairing that soon.

I have the same vehicle year, engine and everything. I have burnt oil coming out from under the hood. Thanks for putting up this video. I thought for sure the head gasket would really be a pain but this should be a piece of cake. Thanks again.

the only thing youd have to do first is remove the plastic engine cover which just pops off pretty easy.

Did you tighten them down to 90?

90 inch pounds sounds about right, I just did it by feel. Not too tight since it's just a valve cover.
