FINALLY!! Healthy food ideas for my toddler that aren’t practically swimming in sugar and junk. How old was your daughter when she started eating pumpkin seeds? My daughter will be two in March and I’m still hesitate to give her whole nuts and seeds.
@HealthyGroceryGirl2 жыл бұрын
Hi! My daughter was maybe 1.5? I can't remember exactly. Always best to offer what you feel they are developmentally ready for though! I was always with her and she would usually just eat one or two at a time and chew them well so I felt good about them. We get pepitas the little green pumpkin seeds :)

How long do you cook the waffles in the waffle maker? Mine seem to keep coming out mushy in the middle
@Pineapples8theWorld3 жыл бұрын
That looks like so much food! Does she actually eat all of it? My 18 month old would probably tap out after a few bites or like, half if she really liked it. I can't wait to try the waffles!! Also, your chia seed pudding is wayyyyy thicker than I've ever made it, so I am definitely going to try 1/4 c to 1 c ratio when I make it next time. Last time I tried it was just TOO messy

Hi! Oh you know kids... every day they change their mind :) I would say if it's a food they really love, they usually eat 80-100% of it. It's a new food, sometimes they won't even try it. If we've had a snack too close to dinner... then they won't eat as much at dinner. Every day is different ha! Chia pudding is really tricky sometimes! If it's too runny you can add a little more chia seeds, stir and stick back in the fridge for an hour! Hope this helps :D

Love this. Healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. I love her plates. Is the kite hill yogurt less chalky than the Silk brand? It is soo hard finding dairy free and vegan items where I live:(
@HealthyGroceryGirl5 жыл бұрын
Does Silk have a greek yogurt? I've only tried the regular non-dairy yogurt! So I couldn't compare the two greek yogurts! So frustrating when it's hard to find good options!
@veganlunchmom5 жыл бұрын
My mistake, the regular silk. ;)
@HealthyGroceryGirl5 жыл бұрын
I think Kite Hill has a better texture! Texture is such a personal preference though! :D

I'm in my 30s, no kids...but am a very picky eater...this toddler eats better than I do. I dont like most of these foods...I really need to do better.

I mean.. these look great but these videos never consider families who are on food stamps, relying on food banks. Organic stuff, all these types of seeds. I just feel bad for the parents that are desperately trying to feed their kids healthy meals, but find out their food bank wont provide them with blueberries and chia seeds.
@brunosmine31329 ай бұрын
Definitely doable on do on food stamps 😁

No matter how long i cook the spinach muffins or the waffles they turn out mushy in the middle.
@HealthyGroceryGirl3 жыл бұрын
Hi! I recommend making the muffins thin - more like disks than a traditional muffin shape. I do this by filling the muffin cups 1/3 or 1/2 way full or making mini muffins. Since I make these for my kids the smaller size of the muffins works great. Because they are mostly oats and banana they will have bit of soft texture. They will be fully cooked if following the cooking time - they just have a softer texture. I notice that they also firm up in the fridge too! Hope this helps :)

My toddler won’t eat anything green 😂

mine either but she use too!!
@HealthyGroceryGirl5 жыл бұрын
That is common! Have you tried the muffins I've shared in this video? Sometimes food prepared and presented in a new way can be a win! It's also normal if one day they love a certain food and the next they do not ha! :)
