Most Americans don't understand Aldi. I am glad you enjoy it.

I love Aldi's! My family has been shopping there for years! Since like the 80s when they started opening up in the Chicago,Illinois area!

Tip to make room for bulk: use shelves. If you have a room where you can put some shelves up. If you have the room in your yard there are small sheds that could be used and put the items in plastic bins to prevent critters. I’ve even heard of people using garage space.

Since I started Walmart grocery pickup I'm sure I've saved a LOT of money. No longer am I wandering down the aisles thinking 'hmmm......I could really use THAT!' Plus, I can go in my pjs. Have a great day, Abbie!

This was a really great video on how to save money when my husband and I first got married and we would write a grocery list out we didn't realize it but each time I would go shopping the things that I was getting we were over budget every time and we couldn't figure out why so when I start it really paying attention to what we were really getting I realized it was the type of meat that we were getting was making us go over budget every time.
@thesimplifiedsaver4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, meat can be very very expensive and a huge chunk of your budget. Have to be careful with it!

Aldi and Walmart grocery pickup has saved me a ton so far this year. After I inventory what I have I make a list and hit Aldi first. Whatever I didn’t find goes on my Walmart pickup order.

I used to work at Walmart. You would not believe how much money I spent on groceries. I was a cashier and just seeing things as you scan them was such a problem for me. I would already have a planned meal at home and then someone would buy something and I'd end up getting sidetracked and want that too, because I was there every day, I shopped every day. Ugh. :)
@RascalCruz44 жыл бұрын
Amy Petracek totally agree. I’m a personal shopper at Walmart and always find things around the store people buy that I need to buy too. Walmart employees are their best customers!

I soooo wish we had an Aldi! You're right, I have found Sams in Florida to not be more cost effective for us and the options for brands and variety of foods are terrible. Walmart is our only cheaper option with their generics. So happy for your channel. Plus, it looks like your subscriptions are booming(Yay!), congrats! Hope you and your family are doing well and healthy!

Ladies fans . Their frozen berries are an amazing price if you use them in protein shakes I highly suggest Aldis frozen fruits . They have an amazing bran of skinny long frozen green beans ( almighty buggy on label ) they are around $1.29 for a good size bag and they are great to sauté with oil I’ve oil and basalmic vinegar .

Great video. We are a household of just 2 adults. My grocery bill is typically 175$ to 225$ a month. About every 6 months it is about 250$ but again only average of every 6 months. Simply the month when I need cleaning supplies and or hygiene products. Idk how I made it work that I usually need shampoo, dish soap, toothpaste etc all at once? Lol kinda wish it was maybe one or two things every month or every other! But it's ok I feel we still stay pretty close to my budget! Thanks for the tips! 🙂

No storage? How about under the bed? Behind some furniture. I have a 1950's house with a basement that I use for my stockpile. Half of it is a family room the other half laundry/stockpile and workshop. There are certain things I will get at Costco and toilet paper - even if it was available - isn't one of them. Aldi is a dream come true but there are some things I won't buy there either. Great tips!

My brother is currently living with us and offered to do grocery shopping for the household since I’m at more of a health risk than he is. I told him I couldn’t afford to do that because he’ll come home with $100 worth of groceries that he paid $250 for. He doesn’t understand what I mean, as he drinks his individual bottles of name brand cola that cost the same three or four 2 liter off brand or sale colas.
@bellaswan14592 жыл бұрын
I can't afford much due to Disability and yes having to explain to your brother that your life is different and you can't do things like him is so damn hard. However I'm with your brother individual bottles I perfer although only certian sodas like sprite. Store brand like Walmart cola taste gross now it used to taste so good I have no idea what they did but they changed something. So I perfer name brand and since I like cherry Pepsi it's hard to find cherry coke nockoff I do know safeway has one but that's $5 and savemart runs about $6 so it's cheaper to buy at walmart for the name brand. You also have to think maybe your brother doesn't like flat soda or day old soda. I can't stand soda thats flat unless dr.pepper or soda that's been left out a day makes me gag. Maybe sit and see why he like what he likes and come to a mutual agreement.

We only have Ingles and IGA in our small town. If we need something we go to IGA, since it is cheaper than Ingles. We always buy our meat in bulk at Sam's. We have two upright freezers and one apartment size freezer to put our meats in after we break them down using a Food Saver. A Food Saver machine is the best way to save money when freezing foods. When in season we buy bulk in veggies at the Farmer's Market and we can and freeze our fresh veggies. We only go to the two stores I mentioned if we need bread items and such. We freeze our bread also well, we always have at least two loaves in there. If people can afford to buy a freezer, it is the best way to save on food costs. At the beginning of this virus we ate out of our freezers and the things we canned for at least three months. Saved a bunch on our food costs. I realize that everyone may not be able to this (it's just a suggestion). We praise God that my husbands company gives them a bonus. (he drives a fuel tanker). PS: We live in a small house too. My laundry room has the washer, dryer and the two big freezers in it, now it is smaller than before. LOL. We have two lockers in our garage where can goods go, and we also of the closet in my husband bathroom and one in the hallway that serve as our pantries. He put shelves in them. :)

I do that all the time with Walmart app but the damn store my brother perfers is always out of nearly everything and so small it's so hard to find good deals. Idk maybe it's management cause the other one on the other side of town has nearly everything in stock.

I live in Canada. There is no way in hell I could spend $100 a week for my 4 kids and I lol. I spend $200 a week, I should be spending $250 ($200 is really not enough) But if we don't have enough food I just don't eat to save money/food or I'll eat the kids leftovers. Fruits and veggies alone is $50 a week! And we eat healthy. It's just so expensive and we are a low income family. It sucks.

TIP, Don't go to the store or shopping HUNGRY! You will absolutely blow your budget and impulse shop cause your HUNGRY and everything looks good. You are also more likely to eat out cause you HUNGRY! If you can't eat a meal ahead, then bring something with and eat it in the car. I keep protein bar in my purse for that reason.

It is cheaper with coupons than buying in bulk.
@NannaNeely4 жыл бұрын
We don't get any coupons, we don't have a newspaper subscription and what comes in the mail is more likely than not not what we use, so no savings for there. However, I think bulk buying can't be beat, IF you can afford to do it. If not for my husband getting a bonus every 90 days, we wouldn't be able to.
