Captured Afan at its best ( if it’s not raining, it’s going too...) again, 10 min drive from my house, but now I’ve converted to a Lapierre Overvault , I ride over the mountain , so the loop you did and ride back !! It’s given the trails I love a whole now breathe of life using my ebike - such a blessing living so close

As awesome as this video is, nothing can capture how awesome the trails at Afan are. For anyone in the South of the Uk, Afan should definitely be on the bucket list. Free to ride, no crowds and miles of superb singletrack.

My back garden, you mention the scenery, I often get used to it, but then when I get up there on the bike it opens my eyes again! I was there yesterday, I’ll be there today and every other day I get the chance!

Stunning area. I live in germany and miss actual trail riding . Germanys idea of a " trail" is a two lane paved street through a forest . 😂 There are of course dirt trails but they are really fairly wide roads for the lumber industry and i'm pretty sure that old ladies with brooms sweep them clean before dawn every day. 😜

Great video Rob that conveyed the trails and atmosphere really well. Was there a couple of weeks ago and did W2 + some of Blade with another local EMTM forum member. First time with an e-bike for those, and much more fun on a 2019 Levo than my old analogue bikes. Is it worth the car journey - heck yes, even from East Kent! Keep the videos coming (and if you get a chance try Nant y Arian in mid-Wales.

@@RobRidesEMTBa Rob, its lovely to see some terrain that is lush and damp! We are used to bone dry salt bush with a scattering of roo's and lethal brown snakes! :-)

Cheer's Rob, beware of what you wish for!:-). 34DegC here today with 36 by Tuesday and hotter to come! MTB rides are now restricted to very early AM or very late PM, outside of those hours then heat stroke is likely!
@Peter578085 жыл бұрын
@@RobRidesEMTB Over here its now 35degC plus so rides are now limited to early AM or late PM! Outside of those hours is a recipe for heat stroke. I've turned 60 this year and after two heart ops I'm back into MTB on a Scott E-Spark. The bike is somewhat disappointing and after replacing the Recon forks with Fox 34s it now steers a bit better. Crank Brothers seat post has helped but the bike is still ordinary! A Specialised Turbo Levo S-Works is coming in March so that will be the end of my issues I hope!
@testing3165 жыл бұрын
Would love a Levo with full suspension and 3.8x27.5 tires. I think they keep going with skinner tires to increase range.
@RobRidesEMTB5 жыл бұрын
3.8? That’s huge (or 2.8 did you mean?). I like the way it feels with smaller tyres 👍

Rob, thanks for this video. I'm playing catchup as I only just got into this sport. Going to Afan this weekend with the guys from FMG in Fleet Hampshire. It gave me a lot of insight into the area and what to expect. Other than helmets were you or the other guys wearing knee/elbow pads? I've got lots of questions not just on bikes :-). thanks, David
