Insightful, intelligent, comprehensive and spot on perfect. I’ve been flying FPV for 25+ years and quads since 2011 and I believe this is the best “how to improve” video in the entire Internet. Bot, you’re a leader, inspiration and man of action! Thanks.

@@RVR_theBot_FPV Older in fact! Pretty much coincident with 2.4Ghz VTXs and “miniature” video cameras that weigh as much as a 5” drone! 🤣 72MHz was the only freq and you had to make a giant 10’ tall J Pole antenna to go long range. Fun times!

@@RVR_theBot_FPV Any balsa wood trainer style with a 6’ wingspan. Telemaster and Kadet were popular with the FPV crowd at the time. The J Pole was for the ground station.

Wow such a good list of tips!!! 👌 👌 One thing I would like to add is RATES Don’t copy anyone’s rates, figure out your own rates, change them as you progress, you can even setup rate profiles for cinematic, freestyle…

Sage advice, my man. I actually followed literally all of the individual points on my own. I did however put tuning (including rates) the top of my list as its benefits cascaded down to all of the other list items. Crack a book (not really just watch videos) and get tuning.

11:22 Yes! Thanks for saying that, it needed to be said! There's WAY too many benchwarmers in this hobby, and their constant tinkering and never flying scares newbies away from the hobby! If you enjoy those tinkering/benchwarming parts of FPV, that's awesome but don't let it cripple your progression and scare others away! Great video brotha! ✌👌

Thanks for those great tips. Im 53 years old and been flying FPV since original DJI Air unit and Goggles and few years of LOS before that. The flying different spots TIP and the multiple batteries everyday was the ones that Ive really seen help me but the fly with others Tip is the one that ive never experienced. You would think living in the San Fran Bay Area I would of at least ran into another pilot but only happened once. So anyone in the Concord, California area let me know where all the pilots are. You’re the man! I used to skate and after 2 casts on my right foot and 3 on my right arm I lost my balls. I think the Velcro on them wore off. But flying is just like skating to me. Honestly, flying with better pilots, and flying as much as you can (aka 5 packs a day) is the most effective way to progress quickly. Coming from a newbie pilot that flies with a Crew of better pilots, I would probably be half as good, flying solo, and figuring it all out myself

Great tips👍🏻 I'm really new to flying and unfortunately in South Africa, especially where I live, I happened to find one guy that flies and knows 2 or 3 other guys, pretty scarce here. As for sim flying, I do as much as possible as well as IRL. First time IRL, went high up and did a few Powerloops and a Split S's, no problem, so definitely the sim helps👍🏻 Nearly took myself out the other day though, just went high, looked around and came down and couldn't see myself, I buzzed the tower, just felt the wind of the quad past my ear. Would've been an epic KZbin video if I did and had 3rd person footage of it🤣

Best top tips for FPV on the internet! ^_^ I've got about 5 hours real flight now after 30 in the sim & I wouldn't be doing power loops, flicks and tight gaps yet if it wasn't for the sim.. the muscle memory has been invaluable as I've been able to crash much less, therefore not break my drone and be able to practice more! Now I'm only gimped by the fact I'm flying an Avata LOL! Once I'm dialled in with it ill buy one of yours :P Then I'll rip a bong & a bando in your honour lol

I’m so jealous of anybody that gets to fly 5 packs a day. Hell, even an hour of sim time per day would be rad. But… getting into this hobby with a more-than-full time job and a house full of young kids I’m lucky to get an hour per week. It’s so hard to progress in any way, but it’s still fun. Those of you that can, make sure you appreciate what you’ve got!

I don’t know if I’d call this list the common sense approach to fpv or just good experienced based tips minimizing focus from advanced tech emphasis on the whole point of the hobby, fun. I guess I’ll have to get more creative at finding new interesting spots where I live because they’ve eluded me so far (yet to pop the bando cherry) and flight mates are far and few in my area too. But I’m happy for the 5 hours or so of real stick time I manage to squeeze in weekly in a field or where ever. Great advice tho bro should be helpful to many.
