I am emotional too, the eloquent description of the experience in the war by blessed memory General Emeka Ojokwu is captivating. Never will this befall biafra again.

Beautifully done. Thank you for sharing these facts regarding Biafra. I recently discovered my maternal ancestry via African Ancestry; which is intentional in linking those of the diasporic communities back to their ancestral roots; and learned that we are 100% Igbo - which blew me away. My favorite author is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and when I first read Half of a Yellow Sun; I cried. It certainly hits differently now knowing my maternal roots. Anyhoo, I’ve been reading more about Biafra and I just purchased the book you recommended. I’m planning on traveling to 🇳🇬 soon and will definitely drop in to Enugu - I know I will enjoy it. Hope to run into you and the fam. Loving the content - continued peace and blessings…

Dalu (Thank you) my Igbo brother ‼️ First and foremost congratulations on finding out your ancestry. Knowing that you come from such a rich nation is amazing. Knowing that you come from a long line of the most advanced, civilized, industrious and beautiful people is 10x better! Our history can be challenging and difficult to swallow because of the immense suffering that happened & still is. At the same, history is there to make us proud because as Igbos we fought hard and proven to be the most elite men on earth anywhere we are ‼️ For igbos, Enugu is our capital city, we call it our retirement city, our capital and the coal city. Right from time Enugu is known for safety, culture & serenity. Please stay glued for updates … I will be dropping information soon on a diaspora tour. I don’t want you to miss it. Enugu offers hiking, clubbing, lounging, foods like no other 😍.. search okpa & abacha!… Enugu offers you serenity like you’re in the suburbs of America, but if you like metropolitan street life we can give it to you with some great shopping in our very huge and organized market obgete. You might say I’m hyping it up but ask anyone Igbo. The best part of Enugu is that unlike Lagos or Abuja… this is your land … IGBOLAND. “Don’t be a foreigner in your own land” 😉

@@KellysKZbinAccount Dalu, my sister! I most certainly will stay tuned for that diaspora tour - can’t wait to learn more about it. I am immensely grateful to share ancestry with such a beautiful group of people for those exact reasons you mentioned. It’s been a transcendental experience for me, to say the least. And nothing wrong with hyping up Igboland! I’ve been on that hyped train for a min. now & I cannot wait to explore its offerings.

IGBO MASSACRE IN KANO 1966 TIMES MAGAZINE, LONDON, 7th of October 1966. "The massacre began at the airport near the Fifth Battalion’s home city of Kano. A Lagos-bound jet had just arrived from London, and as the Kano passengers were escorted into the customs shed a wild-eyed soldier stormed in, brandishing a rifle and demanding ‘Ina Nyamiri?’ - the Hausa for ‘Where are the damned Igbos?’. There were Igbos among the customs officers, and they dropped their chalk and fled, only to be shot down in the main terminal by other soldiers. Screaming the blood curses of a Moslem Holy War, the Hausa troops turned the airport into a shambles, bayonetting Igbo workers in the bar, gunning them down in the corridors, and hauling Igbo passengers off the plane to be lined up and shot. From the airport the troops fanned out through downtown Kano, hunting down Igbos in bars, hotels, and on the streets. One contingent drove their Landrovers to the railroad station where more than 100 Igbos were waiting for a train, and cut them down with automatic weapon fire. The soldiers did not have to do all the killing. They were soon joined by thousands of Hausa civilians, who rampaged through the city armed with stones, cutlasses, matchets, and home-made weapons of metal and broken glass. Crying ‘Heathen’ and ‘Allah’ the mobs and troops invaded the Sabon Gari (strangers’ quarter) ransacking, looting and burning Igbo homes and stores and murdering their owners. All night long and into the morning the massacre went on. Then, tired but fulfilled, the Hausas drifted back to their homes and barracks to get some breakfast and sleep. Municipal garbage trucks were sent out to collect the dead and dump them into mass graves outside the city. The death toll will never be known, but it was at least thirty thousand. Somehow several thousand Igbos survived the orgy, and all had the same thought: to get out of the North." - Times Magazine London, 7 October, 1966.

Though all post colonial African countries have problems, Nigeria’s problems are existential and can lead to its collapse inTo Hausa Fulani. Yoruba and Igbo states possibly through violence. The Hausa Fulani will be the biggest losers should Nigeria split into nations for the Yoruba, Igbos and Hausa Fulani. Most of the natural resources of Nigeria is on Yoruba and Igbo land in the southern part of the country like crude oil. The northern Hausa Fulani only have a huge mostly semi literate population they use to dominate the other ethnic groups through violence and threats of violence. However, not all hope is lost. Nigeria can be saved only if Nigerians put aside their pride and face their problems and hold their leaders accountable. Let’s pray for Nigeria 🇳🇬🙏🏻 because if Nigeria fails or descends into a violent break up its 200 million population will seek refuge in neighbouring smaller countries destabilising the whole West African region. So we need a functioning Nigeria or a peaceful devolution for the main ethnic stakeholders of the British created Country.
