On Fact Fiend there's single video where Simon was guest host during the pandemic. I wish there were more collabs, they had great chemistry and Karl has written for Simon's channels for years (hence the interim hosting gig).

I'm just going to go out on a limb and conclude 'what happened to' 99% of paintings that haven't been recovered in last 150yrs: 1) Destroyed in war (if that's when it disappeared) 2) Stolen (by orders of its owner, for insurance $), then distroyed/burnt/thrown in garbage...bcuz lets face it: for them it was about the 'value' of it, not about the 'artwork'. 3) #2. ... 97) Stolen but just sitting in vault/under a mattress for 50yrs 98) Stolen but smuggled to an authoritarian country (where the elite are basically 'untouchable') IE China 9999) Damaged by natural disaster and 'lost to the storm'

Legendary book, in my opinion. No idea how it will end, but it is thrilling to keep on your shelf. The thing is that someone put effort into writing it, more dedicated their time to getting the cover designed, and yet more published it. I just love seeing passion put into material form, even if the story turns out silly.

The big secret is that the originals were never displayed, but when the high-end fakes were stolen, the originals needed to be kept private (lest the secret be let out.). The rich don't care about the inconvenience of keeping their art private. In fact, they may have paid for the "heists." My theory anyway.

Karl, I just adore your Giant Anteater Plushie. I want to know where and how to obtain one for myself... please? And I do believe you are doing very well as Host, being yourself and not seeking to emulate Simon, while tipping your hat to him in some moments, style-wise too. I do hope you can drop the "Interim" in "Interrim Host" soon for all the channels you are hosting. Hope the Channel Owners are paying attention.
