To the perpetually offended: Imagine if you made an appointment with a stylist, and when you got there she just said you're beautiful and awesome just the way you are, and you should just wear whatever you want and not care what other people think. You'd probably be pretty annoyed, seeing as you were trying to get some specific advice, not vague Tumblr-worthy platitudes. This video is clearly for people who actually want some tips. Also the fact remains that many, if not most, of our social behaviours are subconsciously driven by a desire to attract a partner of the (usually) opposite sex. That is due to biology and evolution, not social conditioning, and it will never change, no matter how many times people keep repeating the mantra that women wear makeup only for themselves, not for men. It's perfectly normal to want to be attractive, and it's also normal to care what others think of us, as long as it doesn't become an obsession.

Starts at 1:07 1. Don't wear leggings (too see through). 2. Don't put thick eyeliner all around the top and bottom of your eyes. 3. Don't use too much make up. 4. Don't wear underwear that shows through your clothes (eg. bra straps). 5. Only get your hair color done at a good stylist. 6. Don't try too hard with new trends. 7. Don't show too much skin, balance it out. 8. Don't wear too much jewelry. Follow rule of 2. 9. Don't wear clothes that don't fit. 10. Don't buy clothes just when you need them. Curate your closet. I cut and dye my hair myself. Turned out good 1st time. Sometimes you have to buy something at the last minute if going somewhere formal and find what you planned on isn't quite what you wanted. Hope to never be a bridesmaid again. The bride picks the worst dresses or colors.😂 Never fails. My sister picked out 200 dollar ones that fell apart by the end. Had 20 dollar ones last forever. Lots of jewelry can work. Trying hard with a trend can be a fun challenge even if it takes months to put it together. Took me about 6 months before Halloween costume was done. Got 3rd prize.

Have fun with clothes that are flattering. No one but yourself can determine what is best for you. Can put together something cheap that looks better than something expensive and often boring.

Geekista, No she is not judgemental. makeup is something that is different for everyone. She's just trying to tell you, you don't "have" to wear alot of makeup to look beautiful. If you love alot of makeup that's great but if you're just doing it so others think you look better, than you don't "have" to. We are all naturallly beautiful. Do it for yourself not for anyone else. I've hear alot of people( women and men) say the same things about someones bra straps showing. It doesn't look great, alot of jewelry depends on where you are going. To much skin? Sometimes. Again depends on where you're going. Everyone has their own opinion and you can do what ever you want. she's not saying you can't. She's just giving you options. Hm I think the mistake #5 is very much subjective. For example I don't think your blond suits you. The blond highlights are too stripy and too cold. You would suit better a golden blonde balayage/caramel instead of what you have. But that's only my opinion

I see why women may disagree with some of these fashion and make-up “mistakes” she mentions. She doesn’t mean to offend, so it’s best to view it as her opinion. Sometimes I wear a lot of make-up. Sometimes I wear less. I fold my jeans under, because I’m short and don’t have money or time to get it tailored. I wear what I like and my make-up is done to my liking, not to please a man. It’s ok to disagree and it’s ok to agree. Just do what is right for you.

YES to leggings are not pants! For me personally Kohl eyeliner tightlined around my eyes actually looks good, I have Mediterranean heritage and huge eyeballs, so it helps make them more "almond" shaped. But I would agree that most people should not. 😙

I’m not really one to comment on videos, but I really think that your approach in this is a little off, as most of these are just opinion based and subjective... I literally just paused the video half way through to comment this as you’re saying, “guys like to see natural beauty too, a lot of guys really don’t like caked faces too...” I mean, I heard the first part of your video and thought, “ok, this is probably going to be pretty eloquent and humorous,” but... really? I think the key lesson for me is to invest in things that are going to be more worth it in the long term rather than buy into fast fashion. My husband always says he prefers me with less makeup, so would agree, men much prefer natural. And also confidence, if you stand up straight and walk in a confident manner, suddenly everything about you stands out, your clothes your hair. I usually really like your videos but somehow I'm not feeling this one. I think there's a lot more to life than worrying about your panty line showing through jeans or hem line being a tad too long. I appreciate that you take time and effort to always look polished but you're giving out the wrong kind of message to your viewers. I used to pick up my daughter at school and this one mom would wear leggings that were 2 sizes too small. We could all see EVERYTHING. Her thong, her crack, her underwear that had a hold in it. It wasn’t cute and even kids would point and say I can see her butt. She was so oblivious to it because she was literally on the phone all the time talking about her life and drama.

It is subjective. These are things that SHE thinks are fashion no-nos. That pretty much goes without saying. She already said these were her opinion and not to take things personally. And what makes leggings/underwear showing/not showing universal? Nothing is universal about beauty standards. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it is inherently subjective and changes from person to person, from country to country, from year to year. If you don't want advice on a subjective topic just move on. She didn't talk shit about anyone.

It actually helps to put a liquid eye liner with a dark kohl liner at the bottom eye line helps reduce the appearance of big eyes with a proportionately small face which I have. Women should be able to wear whatever amount of make up, show as much skin as they want, dye their hair as they please, wear whatever undergarments make them feel comfortable, and let them roll up their jeans if they want. Personally tailors are expensive. Sometimes i want to roll up my jeans or leave them the length they are which is ok. We all have our preferences. Ladies do what makes you feel confident and comfortable! Nothing one does will ever please every single person.

I love make but I also noticed that when I wear less makeup I look so much better then when I wear makeup, so now I don’t wear much at all, just lips balms and blush is all I use now 🤗

I agree with some of the things you say, but if we all start doing the same things then we would all start looking the same and lose our individual individuality. I think the way how we dress, put on our makeup is an expression of who we are as individuals. I might not like it you might not like it but the person who is wearing it likes it and if that's what makes them happy who are we to say it's a mistake. We need to stop doing that. Just let people be themselves, express themselves however they feel like as long as they are not hurting anyone. Please don't take this the wrong way, I am not bashing you , just want you to realize that not because you don't like seeing something then it's a mistake. This video is more for just things to watch out for- like making sure your undergarments are not showing or making sure you don't draw attention to the wrong places on your body in order to enhance the right ones. Great tips, but I wouldn't suggest tailoring just anything. Tailoring can get pricy. Personally, I only tailor clothing that's well constructed and consist of natural fibers that will last. Chances are I'd never tailor anything from Forever 21. There pieces aren't quality so they aren't worth the investment. No shade tho...I've purchased things from fast fashion shops before but they don't usually last long in my wardrobe.

I don't understand how you can give advice on something you don't follow yourself. One of your rules is "not showing too much skin". Your last fashion try on haul was all crop tops and skimpy outfits. Another rule you break is wearing alot of jewelry. I always see you wearing earrings, necklaces, bracelets and a watch all together. Lastly, I've seen you wear tops that are see through and I can see your bra. So before you give advice on fashion mistakes, I think you need to watch some of your other videos.

I never said to not wear crop tops, in fact, I talked about having a balance is nice if you're going to do those things. As far as the jewelry goes, I never said I do everything right, in fact, in the beginning of the video I clearly put an overlay that says "I MAKE FASHION MISTAKES TOO!" Maybe you missed that, but you can re-watch the video and it will be there. As far as the bras go, I only talked about bra straps. Never mentioned anything about bra showing through and I can't seem to find a solution for that, but what I definitely won't do is not wear a bra. Anyway, thank you for watching this video.

Nothing wrong with not wearing a bra, most of us with small chests get away with it. In the summer its totally acceptable with beachy apparel, especially with the weather getting hotter and hotter every year. its society that frowns upon " not wearing a bra." I go braless all the time, the synthetic materials they put in most bras are uncomfortable to me, so i only wear them when its absolutely necessary. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect bra made with natural organic materials..

I also get caught up in the moment and buy to just buy and then regret it. I alway think if I hadn't wasted my money on all this cheaper stuff I could have bought a few really great pieces a little more expensive and have them last longer. Like Express or something. I totally agree with you . I don’t understand why some women wear legging and you can see their underwear, sometimes you see their thong, so tacky. I always wear strapless bra but it’s hard for women with big breast to find a good strapless bra so I’m indulgent but lot of women don’t have that excuse, it’s like they don’t know that strapless bras exist!

I love your videos. Good tips for us ladies, however, not EVERYONE can afford a Tailor, to tailor our our jeans for instance like you showed us in this video. So, I would like to see some other options that you can show women who have these certain problems.

Good tips! Most bloggers suggest going to the tailor. I am 5’9” 140 lbs, pretty average banana body type and There are times I look at an item and think it could be nipped or tucked here or there... I’ve gone to a few different seamstresses (at the dry cleaner by my home) and they always tell me there’s Nothing to alter. Do you think it’s because of my height or am I not asking the right professional? Because I do see the value in this, There are definitely times I feel I could use it even though for the most part I’m wishing Sleeves on tops were longer! I never have issues with jeans so I guess for anyone shorter that’s gotta be a pain!! At my height I sometimes find my jeans just a tad too long. Pajama bottoms are the worst. They drag all over the floor! And those are not something I would invest in altering LOL

Absolutely with researching and maybe paying more $$ on blonde. I had my hair turned straw yellow, and then green, by a stylist/colourist that didnt understand how to make my red hair blonde. So I wear eyeliner all around my eyes, as lots of celebrities even do, and I get a shit load of compliments. I don't have naturally small eyes so I don't see a problem. I feel like I look worst without it so I have zero plans to change that based on someone's opinion. Curious, are you a professional stylist or mu artist or this this your objective opinions? Also I'm a D cup and strapless doesn't work. So I rock my straps and idgaf about people opinions. Most people complaining are an A or small B cup and don't understand the struggle of having curvy breasts and body type.
