@@stoneeh Yes, that's how time attack cars work; they're built to be as fast as possible, not appease the regulations of a sport it wasn't built to compete in nor can it compete in in the first place due to the drivetrain used. It's the same as someone telling you your Corrado's not worth a damn because it can't compete in NASCAR. As for overheating, most race cars are famously unreliable, requiring engine rebuilds or very high maintenance after 40 minute races, and dragsters that do similar times to this often need engine strip downs after less than a mile of runs.

Pastrana's run was insane... I have seriously underestimated him as a driver in the past... EV's might be fast, but they have so much aero they look like they are on rails, the runs that are most fun to watch are this Subaru GL wagon, the Toyota Takoma, the 1999 Mclaren and other like them, where you can actually sense the true power of the car with your eyes and ears

@@zethloveless7238 it's an exibition race, a car show if you like... Not so much a sport to look fo efficiency... Yes seeing the fastest car is exciting but only as a one-off every year... Apart from Jensens run the electric cars just failed to provide any excitement due to the lack of sound. Then came the McMurtry............. What a beast, you could hear the crowd that was silent on the other runs. Absolutely fantastic bit of engineering and driving. I have never seen a car go round a track as fast as that and it just looked like a rocket on wheels. I don't know how many times I have watched this and still cannot get over it.

Nice to see some of them still had engines 🤣, but you can really see the difference between electric and internal combustion with this. The electric cars a fast but more controlled, the ICE cars make up for being a bit slower by giving us the drama and the noise... Then you have Travis pastrana in a Lego brick Legacy with active aero!! Awesome
