Yay! I’m so glad you did this!!! As the person who suggested it, thank you! I don’t typically wear reds but I want to, so I’m tiptoeing my way in with just bolder fall colors as I work my way up. I have the Lisa Eldridge enchantment, which is a less intense one. I picked up a revlon colorstay crayon that Alexandra Anele said was nearly a dupe for ribbon - I want to play with that a bit before I commit to the OG.

Thanks for the suggestion Brenda. I really had fun with this one. Enchantment is such a beautiful red, and one that I love to wear in the fall and spring. It's an all year round lipstick, but I love it's slightly muted tone, and find I reach for it most in the transitional seasons. What Revlon Color Stay Crayon is the one that Alexandra recommends? I'm curious.

I had to go with my most used as my favorite. LE Velvet Ribbon. When I have to repurchase a full pigment red, you know it's a favorite. I need a few more of the Besame reds. I know I wouldn't wear any of their non-reds. I'm thinking about Cherry Red or Fairest of Them All. They're both cool leaning reds, and I would love to have more of those. Lip liner is my best friend these days when it comes to reds and my aging lips. I really like the ones from About Face. They're a gel lip liner that dries down and sets. They have a warm and a cool red liner. Thanks so much for watching.

I don't wanna sound like a broken record, but I am not a red lipstick girl. I love a good nude on myself. Not to warm leaning not to grey either. If your channel is The Lipstick Gal, picking 10 favorite reds was going to be hard! My favorite (and most worn) reds are: Hermes Rouge H in their satin formula, Pat McGrath Transmatte Elson, Dior 999 satin, CT Cinematic Red, and LE Palazzo. I just got the Merit holiday trio that has the limited edition matte Black Tie and it is the most beautiful burgundy. I ADORE IT…but it’s new so I hesitate to call it a favorite yes. Special mention but I don’t use as much as the others: Dries Van Noten Favorite Red and LE Velvet Dutchess.

I love the shade Elson from Pat McGrath, I'm just not a fan of the formula. This was one of the harder videos to make because choosing only 10 took forever. It certainly was fun, and I'm glad to have made it. Velvet Ribbon (gorgeous color!) is the only one I've used out of the bunch you've showed today, but unfortunately it broke and I haven't repurchased it because I had the the same issue with Skyscraper Rose and Rainbow Spill ( breakage seems to be a common problem of Lisa Eldridge's lipsticks in the Velvet and Insanely Saturated formulas). After watching Hermes Rouge Piment again, I think it's the most beautiful shade out of the twelve you've worn today. I'll go to El Corte Inglés and look for it. I'd love to wander the halls of El Corte Ingles again. What a lovely department store. Especially the big one in Madrid. I remember shopping there for baby clothes and accessories when I was pregnant with my first child. Sorry that you had problems with Ribbon. I only have 1 broken lipstick from LE. I dropped it a few times before it broke, so I thought it was because I wasn't careful with it. I think you'll love the Hermes. Rouge Piment is lovely and a stunning bright, cool leaning red.

Love!! You def had a hard job! Have you ever tried Besame? It might have been my first non-drugstore lipstick. Lisa’s is still my favorite, but I’ve been very happy with Besame. Victory Red is my favorite. I will say that they don’t work well past the expiration, and I’ve had one break (but I had a LE Velvet Jazz break too, and I don’t hold that against LE - I’m sure it’s me 😅) **edited to say I commented too early! You did a Besame shade!

I love Besame lipsticks, but I only have some reds. I know the rest of the non-red lipstick shades aren't for me. I had a Besame lipstick break on me, but like you, I'm sure it was me. It got dropped a few times, and there are occasions where I press too hard.

The Besame lipsticks are stiffer. They're not as nourishing as the Lisa Eldridge Matte formula, but they have a large number of red shades. Lisa has several, but I think that Besame still has more reds. They're both beautiful, but I prefer the Lisa Eldridge formula.

I used to be a matte mauve gal, but red is all I wanna wear anymore. Palazzo is my everyday red, and Velvet Ribbon is my power meeting/going out red. I love them both so much. I love to hit Velvet Ribbon with Wayne Goss's The High Shine Gloss in Hibiscus to give it a bit of depth and pout. The new Ravie Beauty is my "in-my-purse" red because it will get me through any situation in a pinch. Lipstick is fun, but red lipstick is life.

I have an "I CAN DO THIS" lipstick too! Mine is Velvet Jazz by Lisa Eldridge. When I need to psych myself up, that's the one I wear. A few others that never fail to give me a boost are Besame 1946 Red Velvet (Agent Carter's shade), Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue in Ever Red, and MAC Russian Red. (I am darker and more olivine than you are, so deeper and cooler shades are better on me.)

That's a wonderful list and as a red lipstick lover I wonder how long it took you to choose the ones, because I know I wouldn't be able to, and I only wear blue/cool-toned reds XD. (I do not wear anything warm-toned, esp red, because I either look like I've been eating tomatoes/tomato sauce and my lips are still dirty from it, or because they make my entire face look orange. I wish I could pull off some of the warm reds shown here **).

Ooh, I used to be such a fan of Lipstick Queen. I had every Silver Screen Lipstick as well as Velvet Rope Lipstick. (Not to mention the Sinners and Saints) I just loved the brand, and the focus on reds. My favorite were Medieval, Hello Sailor, Pinky Nude Sinner, Brat Pack Velvet Rope and Have Pairs in the Silver Screen. Such beautiful shades, and so much fun to wear.

The 999 lipsticks are all neutral to warm leaning, depending on the formulas. None of them is cool-toned.

I have shade 100 in both the velvet and the satin, and they're not similar at all. I'd check in store before committing to the satin 999. I wish the shades were identical in the satin and the velvet. Shade 100 in the velvet is utter perfection. It's a little too peach in 100 Satin. : (

I first tried to find a red lipstick as a teenager in the early 90’s, for a costume - everything I tried (drugstore, to be fair) pulled SO orange on me! Emboldened by the “there’s a red for everyone” I tried again in my 30’s. Enter Stila Beso and MAC Russian Red! I can’t remember which one I was wearing during a trip to the mall, but I saw a guy sitting at the Nordstrom cafe do a double take when he saw me - what a confidence boost! I stopped at the directory to give him a chance to catch up to me, and he did! Like, who even was I back then?!? We actually ended up dating for a little while, but my love for red lipstick is still going strong 10+ years later. I’d say my favorites are definitely Lisa Eldridge Velvet Ribbon, Duchess and Bloom, and I love Dries Van Noten in Favorite Red. ❤😍💋

In Asia , people always talking about how good " Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 400 " this is , but I'm always wondering if its true ? Cause I never tried it before , but I'm very curious though . If you ever try that ? Please tell us how do you feel about that one , people always say that it is the King of the lipsticks before 2000 . And also , I am very I'm just wondering if " Hermes Rouge Bleu " is very best of RED like the " Lisa Eldridge Velvet Ribbon " ? And how does it smell like ? Cause I didn't hear you mention about that when you talk about the Hermes . I'm very sensitive to the fragrance so I'm always wondering which one got the smell or not ? I like RED and Hot Pink and also the Mauve rose pink and also the true Nude . I've never tried the Lip Maestros. I don't care for liquid lipsticks, that's why I've never tried them. I also don't know about the Hermes shade in Rouge Bleu. There is a slight scent, but I don't think it lingers. I love reds, bright pinks and mauves. Mauve is my second favorite shade to wear, and I have a ton! Thanks so much for watching today.

I love a good red, but I don’t wear red as often as you do. LOVE velvet ribbon in bullet and liquid lipstick. I also have the red colored balm from Lisa Eldridge and love that one especially during summer or when I want to wear a very sheer wash of red. I usually like to wear nudes, but I do love a good warm rose on me or a red/pink color. My favorite Besame lipstick is the Snow White lipstick, don’t know if you own that one but it is iconic in my collection. I also own the Snow White cream blush and had worn both for Halloween as Snow White one year and it was one of my all time favorite makeup looks/experiences haha. The color of that Snow White lipstick is such a unique shade of pink red that I find to be very flattering but I don’t wear it as often as I would like to. Should pick up another Besame lipstick someday - obsessed with their formula. Love velvet muse and liquid lipstick in muse, kitten mischief, velvet blush lightly (possibly my favorite of Lisa’s, second after velvet ribbon), painterly, and spirited away.
