He most likely could have, as SK often let's athletes and celebrities postpone their mandatory service, since youth is so important for their careers. From what I remember, whole reason TKZ went into service is because his shoulder was wrecked after the Aldo fight, so he figured he'd kill 2 birds with one stone and do his service while recovering. I think he worked a desk job while he was there. I never actually verified any of this, it's just what I heard, so take it with a grain of salt lol

I had the pleasure of working with Mark Kerr on the Judo mat in 1995-96 when he visited. He was in town for a competition and just wanted the best workout he could get. My coaches told me as the only guy close to his weight to not hold back and be careful. Apparently as wrestling coaches they already knew Mr Kerr. I didn't, but was doing really well defending, made him work to escape a couple throw attempts. I thought to myself, "I am about to nail this-" when he hit me with about the smoothest fireman's carry I had ever felt. As the unofficial class uke I could take any fall, and had never been injured from a hard throw/fall in class or fighting! This time was different though. He was so complete... Separated my shoulder and kinked my neck a bit. But, I played it off and nobody knew how injured I was. After finishing that go around I got to talk to Mark for a bit. He was such a genuinely nice, humble guy! I had went with a couple of Mark Colemans guys before and had much greater success, I told him. He had nothing but positive things to say about them and our school. The experience ended up becoming a precious memory. I didn't realize at the time that I was really rolling with a future champion. And, I have never been hit with a fireman's carry by anyone else since! Mark Kerr was a gracious winner, a genuinely pleasant person, and as powerful as he looked!

His jaw was broken in 2019 which had lingering effects for a couple years, but Covid also happened less than a year later, and he caught covid, which kept him out a little longer. He did get another fight with ONE, and ended up winning, but every time they booked him against Aoki, it would get cancelled. Part of the reason was Sage's coach's visa was denied but he ended up leaving ONE FC mutually because they have a roster instability issue and mismanagement with drug testing. He still plans on fighting, and he's only 28 years old, he's technically entering the early years of his prime. It's still a bit early to write him off entirely because he isn't past his prime. I know what I'm about to say may be seen as me being out of line but whether anyone agrees with me or not, I do not care. Jon Jones is beginning to seriously reminds me of OJ Simpson. OJ was involved in a high speed car chase, Jon was driving away from the police, crashes his car and apparently he hit a pregnant woman with his car (whose arm he broke I might add) then he proceeds to run away from the crime scene. they both take drugs (honestly, it's rare that people don't nowadays), and the last but most serious sign that he you need to remember is that he beats his wife and for some reason, he is still allowed to fight in the UFC because what? He's good? Forget all that, he needs to be in Jail but no, he gets lenient sentences because of who he is. There are way too many similarities between Jon and OJ and anyone who does not agree with me would have to be a fool to think otherwise. After he retires from MMA, I'm not saying it's going to happen but I definitely see him snapping.

The first 15 seconds of the video is how I feel when I don’t hear Jason or Tommy’s voices..

"wasted" is a stretch. There's more important things in life than punching someone in the face.. it's necessary sometimes but a life dedicated to it is a wasted life.

Khabib wasn’t injured in 2017 . He literally ate tiramisu and pulled out against Ferguson then back back to beat edson in the same year

Did i hear "if he (Jones) wants to go down as the GOAT"? Dude, like him or hate him, he's easily the GOAT

Jones and Conner are easily the most frustrating. The most popular fighters in all of MMA and have both been massively inactive for the past 6 years. Reason why everyone respects Alex Pereira so much is he’s taking advantage of what little prime years he has left.

Jon Jones wasting his prime but still breaking all the records is insane.

Uber should hire Jon Jones as their spokesperson. Imagine where Jon Jones would be if he just used Uber

#1 for me is Travis Fulton. Had a 257-55-10 record, wasted his entire life on the regional scene. And then the final chapter of his life he ruined his legacy to the point it's risky to even talk about him...

Cejudo retiring after the cruz fight is still infuriating to me. He very well could have had a great fight against Volk but walked away.

I think of wasted talent as inactivity. My best example is Gregor Gillespie
