They are all super handy, Dylan! :)) The most "wow, what is that?" is #3 putting the title at the bottom and upper layer setting up to 'Blend mode: behind', that will never ever ever cross my mind as possible... And sound effects accessible from Final Cut (#4) is a huuuge time saver...

#10 gave me a video request idea... It would be awesome to do a top 10 audio effect video. I would have never thought to use cathedral for that reverb effect. you could also talk about what you do for the voice preset as a bonus tip.
@BangkokExplorer2 жыл бұрын
They’re all great! Massive thanks! Quick question: in a previous video, you suggested ending a song by creating a compound clip with a gap clip inside (at the beat you wish to end on), and then adding the cathedral effect with relevant key frames to the compound clip. Are there any benefits to doing it this way over the hold frame method?

#9 was awesome, I alway have done it that manual way

5:55 Finder Aliases may not work but there are two other options that you can do in the command line to link a folder into your favorites.... 'ln -s [OPTIONS] FILE/FOLDER LINK' (without quotes) into your command line. this creates a Soft link file. this may work better than aliases. The second option is called a Hard link, where you are effectively duplicating the file pointer without the file. 'ln [OPTIONS] FILE/FOLDER LINK' I would hope the soft link works.

Thanks for the tips! One question, do you know if there is a way to just show only a specific set of fonts in FCPX? I have a set of custom / user fonts that I just want to see in the list. It drives me crazy to have to scroll trough ever font on teh system. Any ideas?
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you can setup a specific set, but you can save a font preset, and that list will only show what you have saved. So you can quickly access just the fonts you want. If you scroll to the top of the text inspector, there should be a button that says “normal” or something like that. Click it, then you can see the options to save the presets. You’ll be able to select the presets from that menu in the future as well.

Yet they would’ve tell how they used the clone rows & column’s. So my image wall image’s were much sharpened. Plus the wall wouldn’t stammer & jitter

Great tips: however, when I try the speed-ramp method (n FCP 10.6.6) I do not see the handles once the ramp bar is added. There is only one handle, which slows, or increases the whole clip. When double clicking the handle, it shos only "custom speed," with direction and timing settings. Comments?
@TheFinalCutBro Жыл бұрын
Hey Lev! It sounds like you’re clicking on the middle of the speed ramp. You’ll need to click on the black line handle for the other options to show up. If you click on the number percent and down arrow, you’ll get the settings you just described.
@RevLevo2 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFinalCutBro Dylan, thanks for your quick reply. I think my confusion came from your jumping into what seems to be an edit of an existing ramp, I was trying to apply it to a new ramp. So whenever I clicked on the handle, I was getting the custom-speed window. Now when I create a ramp with the Range tool and set the handles with the R-command, I can edit it fully. I also found this link to an excellent description of the "ramp-from-scratch" piece from Will Hall at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioqwkKV3rNp7b80 If I'm off base on this, please let me know. Thanks again from a ramp-novice!

Shooting vertically with Sony A7siii 4K 120 4:2:2. When importing the files without optimizing them and then you apply the stabilization build in Final Cut Pro, the resultant video will be terrible shaky, if you work with the Proxy everything turns to normal/stabilized. But you don’t don’t to export your file in proxy. So I imported the files and converted them to optimized (which are huge files as you know) then apply the stabilization and everything work perfect. This is a walk around but nobody wants to work with optimized huge files. There is an ongoing conversation in the community apple website about this but yet no easy solution. Apple specialist took some of the evidence out of my hard drive for the developers but they haven’t come back to me yet. Have you seen this?
@TheFinalCutBro2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t seen this issue! But if you’re using an a7siii, I would use catalyst browse for stabilization. It’s going to give you way better results since it’s natively built by Sony.
