The AC/DC of pop theology is one of the funniest things I ever heard. And weirdly accurate. Although Osteen could never sing like Bon Scott!

Wilken does an excellent job. He lets people speak without interruption, even those with whom I am sure he disagrees. This makes the interviews non-argumentative and more enjoyable. Issues, Etc is not just for Lutherans.

Lutheran Satire. Weirdly, one reason I’m seriously considering the LCMS as my church home

@@B27-o2cYes! My husband and son were baptized in November and my husband and I were confirmed the first week of Advent. My reasons include: - Fatigue from trying to find a Baptist church in the area with good teaching and no financial ties to the SBC. This is not to say that they don't exist, but it is a research project to identify them. Having moved several times as an adult, I had repeated this process a lot, and I was over it. - Desire for a liturgical church. This is a complex thing, but two reasons are a desire to maintain historical church worship and that I think liturgy is good for my autistic son. He can't tell you how he feels, but he can recite the Apostle's Creed, and he needs consistent routine. - I found Pastor Chris Rosebrough online through a friend (who isn't Lutheran, as far as I know - we attended John MacArthur's college together 20+ years ago), and then found Daniel Long's channel. I seriously considered joining an LCMS church because of their handling of the Scriptures. - I was looking for a church that does not have contemporary worship. This means I didn't join the LCMS church 3 blocks from my house that a neighbor described as "not Lutheran" when I asked her about it (her family went there for a bit and is back at a Baptist church). I ended up at a church 20 minutes from home instead. I am in the St Louis area, so there were several LCMS churches to consider within a reasonable distance. I used to sing on worship teams in various churches in the past. I became very disenchanted by worshipping with the lights turned down and the volume cranked up. I felt disconnected from everyone around me because I could barely see or hear those around me. Corporate worship (which is a very good thing) was lost and we might as well have been at a concert and not at church. - I wanted a smaller church where kids stay in the service and adult Sunday School isn't divided by age, intentionally or not. I grew up in a church that I saw grow from 300 to 1300 attendees over the years. Everyone seemed to be in study groups with people just like them. I also found in big churches with age based groups is that I was excluded from singles classes because I was too old (I was 35 when I got married, and that wasn't because I had chosen a career over starting a family; it's just how life worked out for me). - I saw my former Baptist churches dropping their denominational church names and moving to the names that say nothing about what kind of doctrine you will find within. Go back to my first point about having to research every church. I suppose the theme here is being tired and burned out from the state of Evangelical churches. Their identity seems to be in not having labels. They have largely moved into a Sunday morning show. I want to be part of something old, not moving with the new trends. Our worship will change over time, but when the top billing for the church is a great band and not the unchanging word of God, I won't be drawn to that. Keep the liturgy. Keep the hymnal. And by all means keep the dang lights on.

Speaking of "screams." It would be pretty cool if SOMEONE could interview either .. Lacey Sturm Peter Espervoll Ole Borud The last two are Norwegians, so probably closest of the bunch to Lutherans .. I would add Roy Khan to the mix, him being Norwegian, and recently reaffirming his faith .. But he doesn't scream .. For those there not familiar with Lacey .. Here is a mother of 3 .. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH63n32jnd-Ne7s (I don't think she quite giving birth to #4 just yet)

I met people who had lived 25 years in Germany and they still can't pronounce correctly "Richtig" (right/correct) or Wassermühle (water mill). So I give you brownie points for working on it....wolfmueller was most likely spelled Wolfmüller. Ü doesn't exist in Inglish... it can be spelled ue in German. W in German is English "v"... the olf .... think about the "oll" in "atoll". And don't forget to roll the r bit not too much as we ain't spanish
