Jerm is in a league by himself promoting what he wants and works for him. No need for paid sponsors. He keeps niche to a minimum because he actually wears what he promotes, designers. Via 100s of top 10 lists cycling through the same 20 or so over and over. Edit: He got the juice because he understands the assignment. He was young, full body recording, he had a story 2 that was relatable to some but inspired all, and delivered in just 5 mins.

When i was in my twentys i used to drive my mom to church on Sundays. One Sunday, there was this girl who kept looking at me, so on the way out i smiled and said hello. The following week we talked a little more and finally went to dinner than out to a club i used to frequent. She had this fragrance on that at times smelled ok and other times i didnt like it. We ended up together that night and numerous nights after and she always wore the same smell. Finally i asked her if i could buy her a different fragrance and she said no, that people new her by her smell. So i started taking a shower when we returned back to her place so i could wash it off of her. After awhile i just could not stand that smell. She had one perfume and it was Joop Homme. I told her that it was for men and she just smiled. Found out later that she was high up in the rankings of the worlds oldest profession. Till this day Joop makes me want to toss it. When they say that you smell like a who re in church they were not lying..

Joop was one of the first bottle of colognes that I had purchased and when I sprayed it it reminded me of an old man with a suit on getting ready for church 😂. My wife said it’s better on the dry down but I can’t get past the initial spray

Lots of SBOY hate, but I have grown to love it also. Is it overpriced? Most definitely. The best time to get this is when they have their Black Friday sales + the coupon codes you can use to take an additional $30-40 off. This fragrance would be a lot more popular if it went for $150. I have also gotten unsolicited compliments while wearing this one. Definitely not a bad one at all. Only the retail price with no discounts is where most draw the line.

That is why sampling is the way to go. My biggest regrets are: -Montblanc Starwalker: synthetic mess. -M. Alhambra Eternal Oud: this is simply gross but it was greatly hyped by some reviewers. Worst thing on earth. -issey Miyake L'eau Sport: screechy pomelo, just horrible. There are more but these are the ones that come to mind now. Great video, Ash!

And Odyon Scorpion Intense, although I've seen more respected YTers mention that, of which I currently have a sample sitting on my desk) but I got a Gisada sample pack for $5 a couple years back so I thought I'd give Ambassador a try. It's a surprisingly solid fragrance in the vein of Erba Pura (without the milkiness) or Accento, a musky fruity amber, with strong performance at a midrange designer price. And the women's version, a delightful sparkling apricot soda scent, is arguably even better!

The only reason people hate on joop is because your over spraying it. It's easily over applied but I found a vintage bottle at the flea market that has developed an amazing musk to it that makes it smell like nothing else It has lost a lot of its sweet punch in the beginning which I think helps it out a lot

Although SBoy might be overpriced, you can get it sometimes for like $190 usd or so, during their "sales." It is not a beastmode frag, but it has that molecule effect where sometimes you get whiffs of it out of nowhere. I've gotten so many compliments with it, and I myself really love it. If you layer it with JHAG Not a Perfume, MFK BR540, or Molecule 01 then you can get better performance.

I have an OG formulation of Joop 89 I think? , anyway it's aftershave home. I know it's been reformulated and sold to to different companies over the years. One thing I know with the version I have is that it has no atomiser, just an open bottle. The best way to apply is very sparingly as it's very potent. And only used in colder weather

The CK Free reminded me of a fragrance I got for very cheap at a Marshals called Op Black (EDP). It is the closest I've smelled to a clone of YSL LNDL (I haven't found Joker by Ted L that I could readily obtain). I was so excited to have found a dirt-cheap clone that smelled so close, but alas it is water for longevity. I spray it all over and I feel by the time I get to the end of the hallway, it starts to disappear.

Love your Videos Ash and everyones taste is different - but for me SBoy is really working. Even though I have to admit there are better smelling fragrance out there I´ve got the most compliments with S-Boy and YSL Myself. With those two I´ve got the most positive attention from other people Women and Men - So I personaly can´t get the hate on Sboy and no I´m not getting paid or a yacht trip hahaha but I can understand where you coming from - It is pricey it was overhyped but it worked for me

Wall Street is the weirdest scent. It's nice and aquatic for maybe 10-15 minutes until it settles into smelling like the East River. Just straight up seaweed in the city, along the river. Brutal.

The Joop of today is definitely different than back in the 80’s version. When I bought it joop has more sparkling at the top and just was more zingy and I bought the latest version and it is flat at the top and has more of a milky dulled smell. I do not like the current version of it. It is not the same.

For the SBOY man, I agree it should be cheaper. However, I gave into the hype and there is no fragrance in my 250 bottle collection that has gotten me as many compliments as this one. I like other fragrances more( including Jet Black Enigma , Terra Nova and Blue Ridge) in my collection but nothing has gotten me more compliments. I do wish it was cheaper or that someone came up with a clone because I don't think I'll pay $220 again for it. I would pay $100 tho ...
