I was exactly like you I played the demo of Monster Boy and fell in love with the game right away. To where I bought the game the next day and then when I beat that game I had to buy the first game Wonder Boy: The Dragons Trap. I love both games. But Monster Boy was just my favorite one. They did an amazing job with that game.

Blu ray discs are pretty scratch resistant so you're generally fine, but it's always good to check.
