I think I know why the first glitch occurs. It's got to do with an unused UI segment of the interface within the game code which somehow lets you drag the grenade icon and place it in your inventory. But because it's not an actual component of the game, it interferes with the actual functioning code causing instability and mismatched code, resulting in a crash.

bl1's enhanced memory leaks are tied to the loading movies. removing these movies has resolved most issues, they aren't critical to boot the game, so you can fully delete them from the files without complication.

If I remember right there is a way to fix the armory glitch. I believe you have to enter the armory from above via dueling a coop player and then shooting them with sledges shotgun while they jump. This will blast them into the air allowing you to enter the armory from above to complete the first objective of starting the timer. I can't confirm this though, unfortunately. I've only ever seen it done, not done it myself.

There's a side quest glitch in bounty of blood DLC where if you melee the green wall instead of melee the green tree to break the wall, the wall becomes "the Great wall the invincible". Nothing can break this wall from this point onwards.

I accidentally glitched my game as Doppelganger Jack, I used his shock laser skill just as I went down and when I revived myself, the lasers were infinitely active until I decided to use the skill again which cancelled the effect.

I remember this one game breaking bug that happened to me in borderlands 1. I remember it happened to my first ever character on Xbox 360, it would permanently mess up your quest log, adding quests you’ve already done and couldn’t complete and adding story quests in areas you don’t have access to yet, hard locking your story progression. I think the way it happened was I entered a random match made game with somebody who had the glitch and it would spread to you like a disease and there was nothing you could do about it. I might be remembering some things wrong but it seriously messed up my first ever playthrough

Yes, if you play online and complete missions you haven't reached in single player you can mess things up.

I know of one more: On the "Riding to Ruin" Main Quest in Bl3 DLC3, when you get the mission objective to "follow the posse" and you reach the target destination to fast, Juno will never attach the bomb to the door, and you cannot progress to the Ruiner.

Theres a challenge in borderlands 2 called slag-slicked that would break if you were to use the bee with any slag weapon. For example i used a slagged conference call on the bunker and from there the challenge would get completed over and over giving me maliwan elegance skins and it went kept on going stacking way pass the inventory limit. I had like 60 maliwan elegance skins before my game crashed. Pretty much dealing any sort of damage involving slag now, would activate the already completed slag-slicked challenge from now on. This happened to me on xbox 360. I think this also happens to other consoles and pc aswell as i've seen some forums about the game-breaking glitch involving the slag-licked challenge

Yeah it's broken on ps4, also. I'm farming Bunker with Zero using a slag Pimpernel. I complete the Slag-licked challenge every second or third kill. I just drop the skins. Sidenote: almost 500 runs and haven't bore-crashed yet. Had a few wicked lags tho.

BL3 Saphire Run Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC: Xbox Series X: The floors which spawn via Maya's book will have no geometry. You can jump over, or clamber past the first 2, but not the third, meaning you can't continue forward in this DLC.

Man I wish I saw this video when it was brand new. I've been playing a Mordecai 100% run on Borderlands 1 Remastered and walked into the elevator room in the Knoxx DLC lol. Apparently you can have a friend make it all the way to that point and then join their game to have it fix itself but I haven't tested it out yet. But it was only on playthrough 1 so I'm not too concerned about it either way. Great content

The barrier in Jackpot can be fixed, but it requires fucking with Save Editor and redoing the first part of the quest. I had to do it once.

One (or I guess maybe two) that should be mentioned is in the Pre-Sequel at Titan Robot Production Plant. The first hardlock occurs when you're just going through the Tork infested building very early on in the map. The door that you use to exit the building is only openable once with the quest by interacting with the door. However, if you exit the game before reaching the next point in the quest, upon re-entering the game, the door will be closed again but this time you won't have the option to interact with it to open it. The second hardlock that can occur here is after you've installed Felicity and must escort her to the constructor. During this part of the mission, there is a door that can only be opened by first killing off all the Scavs in the room. Similar to the first hardlock, if you exit the game before reaching the next point in the quest, upon re-entering the game, the door will be shut and there will be no way to open it again. There are workarounds for both, though, since it is possible to glitch through the doors as the top part of them don't have solid textures, and of course, you could just reset the mission through Gibbed.

When I was young I was on my way to 100%ing Borderlands; and on the second to last loot run (the 'Super-Marcus Sweep' mission), I got the idea to try the armory glitch to get more loot. Then I unfortunately activated "steal loot" check marker and soft-locked myself. It sucked because I was literally two missions away from fully 100%ing the game DLC and all. I just accepted it, and learned my lesson not to be so greedy anymore...

In BL2, you can pull off an infinite money glitch at Clan Wars: End of the Rainbow by following the Bagman, killing him, opening a chest of money and then leaving the bar (thereby failing the mission) and redoing the mission again. This lets you reopen the chest infinite times. However, you'll might find that spamming the interact key is too slow. So you can go into your settings, rebind interact key to your mouse scroll wheel. If your mouse has an unlockable scroll wheel, here's when the glitch can go wrong. Scrolling the wheel really fast will spawn so much entities that the game crashes while trying to auto pick up the cash. Its not as game breaking, and avoidable if you don't scroll too much at once.

You forgot another bnk3r crash: Maya. Maya with Chain Reaction and a pimpernel can easily crash your game by producing too many pimpernel projectiles. She can one-shot Bnk3r just like Zer0, but I usually have to look at the ground to avoid crashing. :D

I would add this one too: on PS4 Pro, in Borderlands 2, if you install the addon with Enhanced textures, andplay split screen mode, as soon as one character enters a place where a cutscene starts (like entering Dr Zed's room in Sanctuary), the game crashes. And it has a very high chance to corrupt one of your saves (happened to me multiple times - especially when we were playing through the Ultimate VH mode). in BL3 on Ps4 Pro, when playing in split screen - the game crashes frequently, when both players enter bank/vendor machine/inventory, and start rappidly browsing/selling etc... The good thing is - that despite being super annoying, this never ended up corrupting our saves (like the crashes in the BL2 enhanced addon).I still do regular save backups to USB drive though - the BL2 experience thought me a lesson ;)

I also got locked out of finishing the Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary DLC on a Gaige playthrough. On the mission right before entering Helios Fallen, Brick is supposed to punch a support pillar to act as a bridge. Apparently I saved and quit the game before he had a chance to, and when I finally returned to the game, the pillar was still up, with Brick nowhere in sight. So yeah, I had to start all over again with a new character.

I know a glitch for borderlands 1. Dont get downed on top(yes on top, like jump up onto it)of a devastator and destroy it while you're on top of it otherwise your inventory space will be reset to 12, you're equippable weapon slots will be dropped back dowm to 2 and you'll lose all your equipment in your inventory save for the stuff you have equipped if you're lucky. If this happens to you after playthrough 2 you won't be able to do claptrap quests to gain back your lost inventory space. This happened to me, killed a devastator while i was on top of it and my character became invisible and immobile, i couldn't respawn or do anything for couple seconds then when i finally did respawn i noticed that i had nothing on me, no shield, no mods, no weapons, my inventory space dropped from 42 to 12 and equippable weapon slots dropped from 4 to 2. This happened partway through playthrough 2 and considering claptraps dont give SDU upgrades for inventory in playthrough 3 I may as well be buggered with possibly only being able to get up to 18 inventory space. Whether i can even get 4 weapon slots again is iffy. The game mechanics may have already registered those rewards as claimed from my first playthrough so it's likely that even if i finish this playthrough and start over again i may not get those weapon slot upgrades again. On the other hand I'd say if you end up in a similar situation as i was its best to just force quit the game without allowing it to save first. I made the mistake of exiting through the pause menu and i guess the effects of the glitch were saved as well since even quitting the game entirely didn't fix the problem. You're best just hard quitting because its likely the glitch wouidnt register with your latest save file beung before this glitch happens.

In the bounty of blood dlc there is a hard lock for the story. Make sure you do not leave the map when doing the “riding to ruin” quest before you blow the door up

I have encountered a game breaking bug not on this list. Near the end of that Western dlc in Borderlands 3, I had to follow two people to get to the entrance to the main antagonist's place. I was tired and needed to sleep, so I saved and quit before entering the area. When I got back on, the entranced is still sealed and the NPCs act like it's open. I had to create a new character on another profile and get to that part on the profile. I then joined as my original character and entered the building. That fixed it but it was so frustrating having to deal with that, after doing research trying to figure out what was wrong, I found a few people with the same exact problem.

Funfact: if you have a certain build for krieg that allows him to take damage from allies or himself, everyone can kill you accidentally from doing damage to you. Not exactly a glitch, but has made me respec before joining online matches quite a few times.

Oh if im not wrong, if you used Gaige's Outburst on the Warrior, there's a chance for it to crash, and in mutiplayer games it can just disconnect everyone. I have saw it before when one of my friends was playing as Gaige and they shot the Boss, disconnecting all of us out

There was a glitch I did accidentally in the Pre-Sequel that, once I found out how it happened, I found that it crashes in every version of the game that I have. It's as simple as going to your skill tree, hovering over a skill by the edge of one of them, and moving the cursor over to another skill tree while changing menu tabs at the same time. Not sure if this is doable with mouse and keyboard, but I'm pretty sure it would. I just know I did it all with a controller.

for the Armory one in BL1 just do it the 3rd time you go there on the 2nd playthrough and won't affect achievements/trophies. you will probably be at the highest level so you will get the best loot

man i had the worst crash in BL3 when i had lootsplosion on when i played through the handsome jackpot DLC, specifically going through the scraptrap area with Fl4K's 30% chance to crit on any part of the enemy

Not only in bl2 with the slag, but if you have unlimited frames and the physx or whatever it’s called that adds physics to corrosion or any other element, that can crash your game too. Had this happen a lot with super randomized where I’ll run crash out of the game.

I highly doubt that "too much loot" will crash the game of any borderlands game. As for me and my brother, we grinded the four ancient dragons of destruction multiple upon multiple times until the end area when youre able to loot all the chests if you have enough eridium. You can completely cover that area in loot, by saving and quiting you can reload the boss without despawning any loot at all

I'm seeing a trend in the bl3 glitches. Also, I'm not sure what caused this glitch, but on ps4 the handsome collection I have a character that, though I was on UVHM, only ever renders that I was halfway through TVHM, that I am constantly playing with another person, and that the difficulty scaling of each area is wherever I last was in normal mode. Additionally, sometimes the character heads will render with a completely wrong texture, ie: like with Fernand femme, the hair is supposed to be brown, but on the character it becomes white. I also used a shift code on the character and it completely deleted all my skins and heads that I had unlocked. After I accidentally switched to this character instead of another one, I quickly loaded in the character I intended to load in, and the "wherever you are in normal mode is where you are in TVHM," glitch happened, but, thankfully, none of the others happened.

There's another one I used to have a lot of fun online with back in the day. If you drop a massive amount of guns in one spot in BL1 and walk on top of it you will fall into the map.

Aren't the mission glitches possible to fix with save editor (willowtree, gibbed) ? Im pretty sure i fixed that several chararacters

one annoying glitch i encountered was during the Moxxi dlc in bl3 where i swapped places with my digi-clone and the mayor substitles of jacks cloths would appear randomly interrupting the subtitles that where supposed to be shown

I think the BL2 inventory crash is a leftover debugging tool they either forgot to remove or thought nobody would find. Probably for testing the crash log to see if it printed accurate information (I don't develop but it sounds right)

I was doing a co-op playthrough of borderlands 1 enhanced on pc and we were fighting the destroyer in playthrough 1. Killed him like usual with no issues and the cutscene started playing. After the cutscene every piece of my equipped gear was on the ground and my last two weapon slots were gone. Never seen it before that and have no idea what caused it. The weapon slots didn't fix after quitting the game. I just fixed the weapon slots with willowtree and everything was fine, but a very strange glitch. Would ruin a character save on console

Some more content like this would be cool. Also I have unfortunately ran into the BL1 Armory Lockout Glitch on accident, wasn’t looking where I was going and accidentally went into THAT room. Needless to say I’m a lot more careful doing the Armory glitch now.

I remember having some odd glitch with my copy of borderlands 1 on the xbox 360, when you have to buy your first shield i would buy a shield but the quest wouldn't advance at all and no matter how many shields i would buy it wouldn't allow me to continue that quest so i got stuck. it wouldn't always happen but it still did.

I had the armory glitch on remastered PS4. Howerver, as Roland, you can actually super grenade jump all the way to the top of the armory and fall through the roof. Then jump back up to where you glitch through the floor (on the other side of the locked door) and complete the mission. Unlocking it so you can move on.

I don’t know if this has been mentioned but if you go too fast in Candlerakk’s Crag in BL2, there’s a chance that the mission will lock you out.

I accidently did the bl3 end quest softlock. Was mainly trying to find ways to skip dialogue within the story that playthrough. Only way I found to fix it was hope and join someone's game to get past that point of the story.

Can't believe people are still playing this game. I'm over it yrs ago. The most tedious part in BL1 is the 'T Bone Junction'. In all, I'd say Borderlands is one of the few games that showed improvement as the series progresses.

Save quitting before brick knocks the pipe down during the Fight For Sanctuary dlc also soft locks progression in that dlc, found that out the hard way on my first play through of it
