His auto-shock is only on enemies that maya cannot phaselock, and I believe there are a few exceptions (like certain big bosses). I kinda understand that they didn't want him flying after buzzards, but it is so sad watching him just zap threshers

@@wavern1030 Not much? Put on some strong roid shield and that's some insane damage on anything that he hits with melee skills, provided you slag it. The only problems deathtrap are related to his AI, he has some of the worst in the game and his inability to hit 90% of bosses with melee is just the cherry on top that completely cripples him in most scenarios. As it stands, he's just a glorified meat shield for anything he can't melee.

It's called "pony up", as a person who used to play this game religiously, as a gaige main, it would add like 5 seconds for every kill and the best farms for it were after you kill Jack and any area with large groups of enemies

Challenge idea, you can't drop or sell any weapons you pick up until you complete the takedowns (or OP LVLs for bl2). so you'll have to drag low level weapons to their fullest, with only 50 weapon slots for the whole game can you do it?

Wow, that's unbelievably creative. I reckon he would go for a melee build. Rapier + Love Thumper combo can last from level 18 to 30. From there, it's honestly just The Bee farming and going for unique blues, like the Lady Fist. Zer0, Gaige (with her Anarchy) or KRIEG would be ideal, KRIEG especially, considering his action skill is basically just melee. Would definitely be fun to see Joltz coming around these problems lol. Just commenting so you have a bigger chance of him seeing this.

Deathtrap was much more useful earlier around launch. After scaling and things were rebalanced for UVHM release, Deathtrap is completely useless halfway through TVHM outside a few builds. But he becomes completely useless in UVHM with basically any build.

For One Two Boom, Gaige would have to use the starter pistol to detonate Deathtrap's electric orb for about the equivalent damage of roughly 8 seconds of melee attacks over a large AoE. I don't think enemy guns or barrel explosions can detonate the orb. It has to be activated by friendly projectile fire.

Man. This just shows how awful DT is at almost everything. Low damage per hit, bad easily confused AI, slow attacks with long wind up times which allow many enemies to to move out of the way. It also has the longest action cool down and doesn’t have enough HP to be a worthwhile tanky distraction.

I'd like to say that the cooldown of BAR is longer, but you can take damage to make it faster AND spec into RTB to get it back instantly, so yeah... Gaige is still tons of fun.

That aside, she can still really cause some havoc; she's basically Krieg-lite for shining up close and her most effective builds requiring an unorthodox mindset. Ultimately, if you're not adverse to some risk-taking and experimentation with her skill trees, she'll get you through and be hilarious while she does it.

I used to farm Exp using Deathtrap and Rakks in the warrior arena that are infinitely spawning. Just have the "gain duration after a kill" node on the skill tree and leave the game on... Other than that, only use I've found for Deathtrap is as a shield booster (and glitching pretty much infinite shield recharge) with one of the capstones. I salute you for going through this endeavor, seemed like such a slog!

I was playing some BL2 today, first time in a while, went to go fight the warrior and handsome Jack. Fighting my way through the hyperion forces and I get downed. Brick steals my kill when I am in fight for life mode. He then did it another two times. The first time brick combo'd the enemy twice knocking them out of the way of my bullets with the first hit and then killing them with the second. The second time the enemy has the tiniest sliver of health and as the bullet flies I see brick run up and punch him into oblivion, reducing him to atoms. The third time Brick shoved every enemy away from, behind a set of railings so I could no longer see the enemies. The worst part is after the third time I ran back to brick and the arena and he had punched an enemy in the best spot for me to shoot at them. A bit late for praise BRICK!! (He has become the bane of my existence)

Definitely one of those challenges I could see making use of both the BFF & little big trouble trees being good for this, boosted duration durability and cooldown from the former but varied elemental splash damage from the latter. While the ordered chaos is meta normally, all it offers for deathtrap is the spin attack and movement speed, yet still requires burning over 10 points to do so. Shame you didn't realize it till halfway through, but at least you didn't fall into the trap of buck-up lol.

Gaige was my first and most played character for BL2. If I was in trouble, I would summon Deathtrap and either hide while getting shield back, or get aggro on enemies and have deathtrap attack them while I would just jump and run around. And I gave him Buck Up. Also, I went back to the game after like 2 years, and saw I was level 50…and I did not remember reaching it, or most of the stuff after Sanctuary takes off….It was very confusing.

I mean, you did the best you could with what you had available. It's not your fault the run is not possible. I will say that even though Angel bugs out when the fight lasts too long, you still made it to destroying one of the injectors, and if you did that it proves that you can get them all...this was a failure in the game's programming. The fight doesn't change, other than getting easier because Lilith starts helping.

I think the save editing was fair because you ran into a glitch with the game. The turrets though.... I mean it was also a glitch in deathtrap's AI so it's a tossup. I could see someone making a minor bug fix and getting death-trap to attack those turrets. The feat is real to me though, the effort that went into this makes it a successful run to me.

Yooo 13:06 there is actually a feature where if u repair the beacon a certain amount of times its just auto win. So just shoot and drop you're gun. if u drop you're gun before the bullets hit the becon it will deal enemy damage

Of course this counts, not only is it insane both the areas where you didn't use death trap were impossible to pass. You could either argue is not possible because death trap can't hit certain targets or it is possible in exactly the way you played it.

I've done this on UVHM, its very challenging but surprisingly fun, Slaga is a must for Deathtrap to have a good winning chance of killing slagged enemies, I forgot which special roid shield I had but its definitely a red texted one, luckily Deathtrap did not do those pesky eyebeams.

For those thinking of doing this themselves I highly recommend the Borderlands Commander mod by Mopiod. It'll allow you to speed up the game and cooldown Deathtrap quickly. Just make sure to find a safe spot in combat first. At 4x speed even a Skag Pup will kill you

I caught about half of this series on stream, random parts here and there. After all the insanity, Joltz did an amazing job pulling it all together. As always, he is able to turn his pain into humor and entertainment lol great video, Joltz! Thanks for suffering for the community lol Also, the part about control core angel, you would've beaten it if the game didn't bug out. A game this old can't be perfect and I disagree with a game glitch ruining a run. Job well done, Joltz!
