Black Myth feels like they showed what they could do, got people to invest and more talent to join, and then they finally came out with a good finished game by not rushing it. I heard there were bugs, but I never had any. This was what No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk could have been and eventually did become had they been in development for longer.
@LecherousLizard2 ай бұрын
Most of Cyberpunk bugs and performance issues were only something you could see on last-gen consoles. On PC I experienced exactly two bugs, one which was fixed in like the first patch (some goofy textures in one location) and the other one was my car randomly clipping through the road as I was riding it, which I was unable to replicated in my ~120 hours of play. Had zero problems with stability or general performance. The polish (no pun intended) on it, yeah, particularly the police AI and spawning was atrocious, but you could go your entire playthrough without ever getting a single wanted star, so it ultimately wasn't even a relevant issue.

@@LecherousLizard I bought cyberpunk in day one on PC. It never faced a bug once in the game, but the game itself was poor. The secondary content aside from the main quest were lame, boring and repetitive, they promoted so high the idea of many different outcomes and freedom of progression but in the end the game has like 4 endings and even less important things to change trough history. I was really disappointed with this game, they promised so much and delievered too few. I hope they'll fix this in cyberpunk 2 and make an actual RPG.

What's more amazing is how, despite being a complete game, the devs had to cut out a lot of content from the main game due to budget issues. Which was understandable since they're a pretty new dev team that started making their 1st big game. Originally, it was supposed to have about 13 chapters, but instead, they brought it down to 6.

They built a tech demo and then got a huge amount of funding after from Tencent and the Chinese government which is also why you see a good number of other non-MOBA Chinese games releasing. This was not a small team or an indie production for at least the past 2, 3 years. China has been spending a lot of money on gaming ever since games like Genshin Impact.

Wukong was truly a unicorn and felt like a fever dream game. Oddly enough, the one thing its trailer did was both seem believable, yet too good to be true at the same time. Like, there are times when you can tell a game looks just way too good and like its simulated gameplay. Just basically a high rendered cutscene made to look like people are playing, but Wukong actually looked legit. And then it was legit. Thinking about Wukong, I hope the people that made Atomic Heart can learn what from what they did with that game, and make their next one better. Because I remember that game seeming too good to be true, and was surprised when it eventually came out, but it just wasnt there fully as a gameplay experience.

While FF7 remake seemed unlikely...it's Square Enix, they have done this before. But Wukong looked way too good to be true, the graphics, storyline, artwork, combat, all looked too good to be done by a unknown Chinese developer. I had to put it down for the past two months just to decompress, lmao
@Namorat2 ай бұрын
@@SuperiorPosterior Absolutely fair! I honestly believe the Beigoma game is not handled very well. For one it is introduced very early but can only really be tackled later on unless you are dedicated to it and it is a strange mix of button mashing and luck as well. Plus it is one side activitiy you to progress pretty far if you want the best ending. Most people disliked it, I think, I personally think it was simply too much but a funny distraction overall. In general, I think the mini games are fun, unless you aim to get the achievement/trophy because then it becomes a time consuming task. Like, the racing game is fun. You breed egg monsters for races and they have stats and obstacles they are better and worse at, so you have to choose the right monster, which has a maximum amount of races. That is where breeding comes into play. If you do it for fun, it is actually pretty decent, but if you aim to finish it, it takes time. I think I had a bit over 300 races in the end becasue the last few races need to have monsters bred in a specific way. or the card game. Kinda simple, but very fun! but winning against every single character in your party is too much. By the way, if you liked the game itself, the story and characters, I highly recommend takinmg a look at Suikoden 2. It is my favorite game ever. Nowadays it is not that expensive anymore thanks to a rerelease and in about half a year it will finally get a remaster, which might be worth waiting for, especially since it will be 1 and 2 in a package.

Stop buying them. There is no other way. You know when you move your hand and you're just about to click "buy"? Yeah don't do that part. Watching gaming videos makes you want to buy and play more too. I had to get that under control.
@brishanswords49522 ай бұрын
Trick is to buy one at a time play it to completion and then pick the next one you feel you need to play. Give up the fear of missing out if the game isn't good enough to still be on the market when you finally get around to it then it most likely wasn't that good at this point.

People got to stop calling black myth a boss rush, it's not. You're not required to fight half the bosses and can go exploring. Also, by definition, a boss rush would be a boss fight right after another. Only chapter one feels that way since it has the smallest map and even then it's your choice to fight every boss.

I'm always SO happy when I see Amalur mentioned in a positive way. I found it randomly by looking for "Games like Fable and Skyrim" and that's literally feels. Fable and Skyrim had a baby and it has everything I love and makes up for it's flaws. This was BEFORE the remaster so was extremely happy when that happened and had followed it closely. Now I can only dream of a sequel and that it's just as good or even better.

I'm genuinely surprised Left 4 Dead 2 didn't appear on here. The game got a trailer just 8 months after the first game released with the full game releasing just 4 more months after that, releasing exactly a year after Left 4 Dead 1. Everyone though it was a cash grab, but even though the game was developed within a literal year it turned out even better than the previous title and improved it in many ways.

1 thing I'll say: I don't care anymore if a team is made out of "industry veterans", whether they've worked together before. I don't care what games they've worked on. It's meaningless. They could be talented as fuck, but without someone with an actual vision and someone managing the team, let alone the company ... that just means nothing.

The issue with Palworld, at least for me, wasn't whether it stole assets or not. It looked and felt exactly like Mihoyo(Genshin Dev) games, with visual styles and game mechanics plagiarized from the most popular games of the time or from the genre, and then acting like it was completely unintentional to avoid getting sued. Or in book terms, making book about a fantasy world, but it was just The Hobbit almost word for word with names changed. I enjoy games inspired by other games, but I don't enjoy games that try to steal or coast of others hard work.
