I tried that Bovine Defence Initiative encounter just for the heck of it, after some gameplay and levelling up. I defeated the Chort but another didn't come back. Apparently they removed the Chort respawn because it is an infinite money glitch itself, since Chort hide is more valuable than cow hide.

I called the Chort a demon cow. I attempted the Bovine Defence initiative method once. Went spam happy with the Quen sign, ducked and dodged, then brought the chort to the Nilfgardian patrols around there. They took care of the chort, while I sat back and shot him with my crossbow. After he was defeated, I got those rare resources early.

@@Scion141 it's because the players killing the cows isn't a cheat, it's an exploit, and adding chort was a way to stop people from doing it. Yet it dropping stuff after being killed is just the game saying "ok, wp, take something for beating this thing"

Chort is not a monster invented by CDPR. Like most of the monsters it comes from slavic mithology, and it's basically a demon, so the fact that it looks like a goat is because of it's origin. Also it's called Czart (Chart) or Czort (Chort) in polish.

I totally did the cow butcher cheat in The Witcher. Slaughtered up to like 100 cows. Then I went back to it a year later to play through it again…. And I was quickly assaulted. In fact, I couldn’t get rid of the thing. It’s also pretty terrifying when you fast travel to another area, and see that demon thing just running up to you from a far… yikes

In DC Universe Online they accidentally put something in the game at a ridiculously low price and people started to spam buy it. Instead of saying "Whoops, that's our fault. We will take our time to properly fix this" they almost immediately permanently banned anyone they even thought used it which was around 1,000 players. While I understand it was ment to cost certain tokens that you had to buy with real money I feel like permanently banning a large amount of people on an already decade old game for a mistake they made was kind of a bad move.

I personally think you could take out the "kind of" in your last sentence, and it would still be true. It _was_ a bad move. A rotten one, even. I definitely feel bad for the players that got burned. Why not just remove the item from their inventory, or something like that, instead? Or, if they really felt they must, ban them, but only temporarily. A permanent ban for something not fully their fault is ridiculous!

Apparently it's too difficult to know who bought it, remove it from all their inventories and apologize properly and instead they just highlighted everyone who got it and hit delete. To be fair I don't know how online games function behind the scenes so maybe they couldn't actually go into every individual inventory and remove it.

The terms of service probably stated something about not excessively exploiting issues like that. Some games definitely have those terms, and I think the even bigger issue with it is when does something accidental get judged as deliberate? Say you bought the item once, then realized it might be a mistake/exploit and backed off from doing it again, or maybe you bought a few, is that really deserving, even if it's technically against ToS? The whole term is based on the subjective idea that you're doing something on purpose.

South Park stick of truth has a pretty funny clip when you try and cheat. If you try and go in cartmans secret lair (his basement) without searching his room for the code, then he pops out on the screen impersonating the patriots football coach and calls you Tom Brady😂

The "infinite money cheat" in the Witcher wasn't a cheat. It was barely an exploit. It was using provided game mechanics efficiently. Nothing was bypassed or tampered with, which would have made it cheating. cd Projekt Red was just embaressed they left such a glaring easily usable method to farm money in the early game. Just because they called it cheating, does not make it so. Edit: Typo fix

I hate when you find a useful thing in a game that the developers mistakenly let pass and theh decide that instead of just changing it they punish people for using it despite it not being a glitch or exploit. There has been many times where I would find something in a game that gave me no real advantage and wasn't breaking the game but they still removed it and blamed the players.

The only cheat I ever used regularly, was one for Tarzan on N64. Haven't played it in dam near two decades and I still remember the code. (On the main menu, left left right right up down left right up up down down down down) it unlocked every level, since for whatever reason it didn't save your progress from one playthrough to the next, so you had to start over every time you turned it on.

I remember back in the day, the original "Tomb Rader" had an silly way to keep people from just using the level skip movements over and over again. At the beginning of a couple levels you'd spawn mid air and dropped into water. You can't do the (IIRC) backwards jumps needed for the cheat while swimming, so you have to try and play through those levels far enough to find somewhere to get out of the water........ But if you've been skipping multiple levels, you won't have the weapons, ammo, or health packs to survive these levels that far.

Vectorman (1995) had a creative way to enter cheats on the Sega controller. “Call a Cab” was C A Left Left A C A B It turned you into a little arrow in which you were able to just scroll through the level. That cow devil was easy for me to beat, since I didn't do the exploit until I had finished the game and the dlc and was nearly twice it's level once I finally learned about the exploit. There's an even bigger version of the exploit in other places that don't spawn it either

in the game Crusader: No Regret if you inserted cheat for immortality (or all weapons, don't remember exactly) from the previous game Crusader: No Remorse, then you would be teleported to a room full of powerful robots from the late game. There where weapons and ammo on the ground... but it was almost impossible to survive, but even if you did manage to destroy all the robots, you would explode in the end :D

Chort also means demon or devil in russian. It comes from old legends i believe so since its based on slavic mythology the monsters have slavic old monster names, like for example Leshen. When i was a kid i was told fairy tales about Leshiy roaming around the forest its the same Leshen.

I guess if ol' Barbatos hates items as much as he does, you gotta figure he'd have issues with auto-leveling too. XD Thing is, the Tales games have their own built-in bonus/cheat system they'd prefer you to use anyway. Just beating the game unlocks a New Game+ mode that lets you buy features with points you earn in the game, and those include things to make repeat runs super-fast if that's what you want. Beating them once isn't a problem since there's generally no lock on the difficulty slider. You can tone it down any time you want, even to the easiest setting, and still go all the way back up to the highest one you've got access to.

Just edit the skill.cfg file in Black Mesa , change some values(almost all) to 99999. It's the most fun I've had in gaming. You can frag enemies just by throwing the tripmine.
