Gotta hand it to the original coders of The Bard's Tale (PS2) If you smash all the barrels in first town, you'll eventually meet a NPC who was the one to make the barrels in the first place, so he asks you to "Drum up trade" by destroying as many as you can find ! Only game I know of where breaking barrels actually gained you a quest lol

If I remember well, you could also summon rats in front of a tavern, so that you could offer the tavern owner to get rid of it for them. I know one of the game opened with that as a cutscene, but the fact that you could do it again in another town, and it still worked was a great surprise.

Special dialogue in TotK is an understatement. There is special dialogue for EVERYTHING in that game! If it's day, night, raining, snowing, different locations, different clothes, no clothes, certain fusions you have equipped. And it goes beyond dialogue, too. If you threaten people, they'll run away and you can herd them around.

Even the VR version of RE4 accounts for the tower. It doesn't collapse on you, but if you spend more than about 10-15 seconds up there, they start lobbing dynamite up there with you. If you're lucky, standing in an opposite corner might save you a couple times, but one WILL eventually wipe you out if you try to stay. Just not a viable strategy. P.S.: If you haven't played the VR version, it's fantastic. Honestly recommend it easily as much as I recommend the remake. They nailed it in so many ways.

Another instance in GoW Ragnarok where they acknowledged the looting that I remember was when (I think it was) Heimdall said to Atreus “sure! Just break your way into Asgard and start taking our shit! That’s cool…”

10:00 I've been playing Final Fantasy XV the past week, and they do this in a couple of dungeons. Sure, most shiny item spots also _just so happen_ to be in rooms where a bunch of enemies spawn before you can grab the loot, but I mean actual tricks. In three different areas, the blue shinies are in rooms that almost immediately collapse upon entering, with the ceiling dealing a fair amount of damage if you don't dodge back in time. You can't get the item, by the way-it's completely crushed/hidden by the ceiling's rubble. And then there are the bridges that collapse, forever preventing you from grabbing an item. It makes me wonder what items they put in these unobtainable spots. Was it some basic vendor trash, just to get the blue dot on the field, or did they jokingly put in high value loot just to further troll anyone who digs into the code?

Ha! I never knew about that Skyrim one. I never leave a neutral corpes naked when I loot them out of respect for the honored dead, and make sure they have a weapon on them so they can enter Sovngarde. It's just a fun thing to roleplay. And there the game acknowledges that it's a thing. It's not just me. I love it.

Ah man, you already mentioned Max Payne 2 but not the best Moment for this video. When you're close to the end of the game, you are having a hard time in the mansion with lots of enemies behind every door and painkillers being scarce. So you jump into every room guns blazing. But there is one room filled with mannequins with guns in their hands but having gas tanks as their heads. I really fell for that by diving into the room and blasting my shotgun at the next best guy near the door and boom.
