Story : scarlet nexus (just my opinion, it had a lot of mystery and twists) Combat : scarlet nexus (for a souls like, code vein was a terrible souls like in terms of combat) Level design : scarlet nexus (because code vein had a level called cathedral, not only the level was boring but even the name... like literally they couldn't even think of a better name, just cathedral ?) Enemy variety : scarlet nexus (it has more enemy types and some has powers that you can use against them) Graphics : code vein Characters : scarlet nexus (because it has a bond system i thought it was amazing) Weapon/item variety : code vein of course That's just based on my experience with these games, i don't prefere one over the other i think they're totally different, but since we're comparing i think scarlet nexus does a lot of things better than code vein.

My brother got code vein he said he likes it so far just got Scarlett Nexus as a Christmas gift pretty solid so far but takes a while to get used to in some areas enjoying so far ❤❤

Maybe the game system of Scarlet Nexus is more mature, but I prefer the story setting and style of Code Vein

Scarlet nexus could be better than code vein if it fixed the issues it had. Scarlet nexus still has a lot of potential as game series for they choose to continue it. Both games are good but it really depends on the gamer and what type of game they want to play.

I haven't played scarlet nexus, but I've got the gist of what it is from reading other comments. I will give my two cents about code vein though. In case people don't know, Code Vein is a prequel side story of the god eater series, created by SHIFT. A scene near the end of the game as well as DLC bosses confirm this. God Eater is a monster hunter inspired anime game where humanity was destroyed in an apocalyptic event, and humanity have retreated to shelters, and the monsters that now inhabit the land, known as aragami, are fought off and researched by God Eaters, super soldiers wielding giant weapons created by aragami cells. Now, Tose, the developers of Scarlet Nexus, have a LOT of games under their wing. They helped with KOF, Dragon Quest spin offs, and made some of their own games too. They're a very experienced company that have existed since the days of Famicom/NES. However, the developers of Code Vein, SHIFT, are a lot smaller. God Eater 1 was initially made for the PSP, and in their life they have made 10 games in total. God Eater 3 was developed by a studio known as Magnificent, who failed to inspire the original design and storytelling philosophy of the original games. God Eater 3 and Code Vein were actually being developed alongside each other. Bandai gave the God Eater IP to Magnificent and got SHIFT to work on Code Vein, which is why a lot of people like Code Vein over GE3. Even God Eater fans themselves. Including me. The thing is, with their less experience, SHIFT had no idea how to make a Souls-like anime game that tied in with the lore of God Eater. And Hiroshi Yoshimura, the director and writer, had never made such a dark-themed game. God Eater 1 and 2 had a very light hearted atmosphere over an incredibly dark setting. As such, his attempts to make Code Vein ended up with a story that didn't exactly capture people. If you want to see the full potential of SHIFT. Play God Eater Resurrection. The graphics are dated, but the combat is extremely fun, and the first two stories in the game are extremely compelling, to the point where I ended up crying near and at the end of the "Burst" storyline. I'm not all that surprised that Scarlet Nexus takes the trophy against Code Vein, however, if you'd ask me which deserves a sequel, I'd say neither. I'd like Hiroshi Yoshimura and SHIFT to begin working on a God Eater 4, using the latest graphics and their amazing designs to create a new game which will tie off the end of the series chronology, as the largest event in God Eater to my knowledge is the end of the first GE1 story, which involved the moon turning green (and yes that is how we know Code Vein is a prequel.)

Gah, I've been seeing the argument of Scarlet Nexus being "better" than Code Vein, but I personally don't think it's fair to compare these games. It's like trying to compare God Eater to the Tales of Games; while they can draw in fans from the other fandom, they're aimed at different audiences when push comes to shove. Code Vein is supposed to be a souls-like type of game, so combat is going to be different than a quick paced arpg like Scarlet Nexus. Both games are fun and enjoyable and they deserve to be loved for what they are instead of pitted against each other.

Code vien and scarlet nexus are both amazing games but a bit strange Both lores are a bit tricky to understand code viens lore is confusing at times Scarlet nexuses story makes no sense but aside from that I’ve played both Code vien is more of the souls games having Similar mechanics the combat system is kinda trashy ngl it could be improved alot the story too it moves too fast Scarlet nexus combat was better and more polished but it still had its downsides the combat system was ok to say the least the lock on could be better i found scarlet nexus reminding me of nier automata with how some stuff are Either way both are great games but they need improvements code vien and scarlet nexus have amazing potential if they can actually execute it well the problem i have with scarlet nexus is that it moves too fast way too fast it starts with you joining the osf ok your sister has a crush ok normal he says he saw you as a child something strange but not to worry naomi turned into a other a bit too quick but ok then serian and everything new himuka is turning people into others..what?”then nagi betrays you”this is where it all starts going down hill..”then you go forward in time and find out oh you don’t have psychokinesis you have gravikinesis! Its never been explained if all psychokinesis users are gravikinesis users but then he says you can travel through time! And you have to kill me!”woah ok we started trying to find a cure for naomi and then now its we have to kill yuito then its we need your red strings your mom is yuitos mom and she warns you guys you back in time to meet her and then bring her back with you for her to go back to babe and all this and that its a mess of a story wich caused me a headache you get answers in yuitos story but by then your already too confused although naomis death actually made me sad and wakana was such a nice character she was really lovable in a way but other characters are eh the twins left me wondering”why are they here?” Code vien is the same you wake up ok apocalypse your thirsty and your blood is the one to recover mistles fine you get kidnapped”ok? Too quick but thats fine”you do slave work and fight the 🫒 then louis comes and helps explaining bloodbeads and him wanting to find a source it all goes well until auroras boss fight were you go from trying to find bloodbeads to helping successors it moved way to quick i was thinking the finding the source would take longer but it didn’t then you meet jack who tried killing you again he becomes a ally then eva is kidnapped..it’s another mess although I will say codeviens story didn’t give me nearly as much of a headache as scarlet nexus the characters are fine io is a innocent one and i was like thos one meeds to be protected murasame is just adorable coco is just..coco eva i felt bad for jack is a a*shole but you warm up to him davis is useless mia is relatable in a way of wanting to protect her brother Nicola was just sad karen for me was like”cinnamon roll”aurora i liked mido i hated emily i liked ciz she was nice to see lol but the characters are fine thats all i can really say But for the question of wich one should you buy? It’s up to you again both are great games and will have you entertained for a while especially trying to get customizations and making things look cool but yes scarlet nexus combat is way better than code viens I found it more enjoyable

@@360pad8 thats a really tough one I enjoyed both but uhh id say codevien cuz really there isn’t much to do after completing the game but then again niether does scarlet nexus one thing i hated about nexus was that you can’t rewatch cutscenes unlike in code vien

@@360pad8 I just think the writing in scarlet nexus wasn’t were it needed to be, the story and plot were great it’s just the writing was average and you can’t really develop with the characters to much. Another thing I think hurts scarlet nexus is the inability to play the other cast, playing as 1 character per play through can make the combat feel very repetitive. Scarlet nexus i think has to many issues to be a better game than code vein, however, if those issues were fixed I think it would have been a better game
