Fantasy☯Fangs The metalcore was sad :( It is sad that is what people associate with metalcore. Play some ABR inspired stuff for the metalcore section. Rest were pretty good, I enjoyed melodic death metal but it could have used just a tad more. The death metal was lacking a bit but other than that mostly positive :)

Dude, that was hands down the best demonstration of those styles I've ever heard. Best part is that you weren't even remotely copying anyone (that I've ever heard anyway), and each riff and riff combination was very catchy and melodically expressed the style you were demonstrating, PLUS, you proved without a shadow of a doubt that NO metal style needs to have the gain cranked to 11 to sound good. Keep it up brotha. /m/,

I first watched this video 12 or 13 years ago. I picked out the genres I liked. Now the list is expanded. I must say, the genres are well represented. But I would say that the examples themselves are great, because when you try to listen to something in a certain genre, you don't immediately stumble upon something you definitely like. But now I like absolutely everything in the video. I rewatch it in its entirety at least once a year when I remember it. Thank you so much for it. It still delivers.

Yeah, a lot of deathcore sounds the same, but you can find some--SOME-- real gems within the style. Another reason why it's hated is because the fan base is really young. But I don't see what that has to do with the music.

Heavy sounds like progressive. Actually it sounds exactly as Queensryche's Operation: Mindcrime album that came out in 1988. And your "progressive part" sounds like metalcore.
@shineek11 жыл бұрын
Queensryche is a Heavy Metal band in the first place , not a progressive metal band , second if the progressive part sounded to you like metalcore , than you really have zero idea what metalcore is .
@Penguin77211 жыл бұрын
Shinichi Asakura Ok, prog metal part sounded sort of something like simplified prog death and metalcore. Early Queensryche was heavy metal, they became more of an old school progressive metal (like Fates Warning and Dream Theater) in late 80s/early 90s.
@TheDondoran11 жыл бұрын

@TomGalonska11 жыл бұрын
C.J. Hayes That's because every prog metal band has its own style... I don't know two progressive metal bands, that sounds any similar!
@shineek10 жыл бұрын
Excactly ive heard prog metal bands that are as heavy as death or black metal , and ive heard lighter prog metal bands that sound more like melodic heavy metal , also ive heard bands playing prog metal that sounded like jazz + power metal . Kiddos plz stop thinking that a genre has a flat description and each band of the genre can be compared to each other , most of genres have very light characteristics . the same goes with a genre like post hardcore , there are bands that play post hardcore as light as alt rock or post grunge and bands as heavy as metlacore where its hard to tell if they are still post hardcore or already metalcore . So next time when you start saying crap about something you dont know go and hit yourself with a hammer , there will be one less internet troll or even somehow you get smarter this way .
