These are great riffs, but I'm not sure that I hear The Trooper as positive. It's about a brutal war, specifically referencing the charge of the light brigade. I think the riff is major to envoke military songs, which are about glory and victory, but the franctic nature of the riff (and the lyrics over the top) subvert that into a vicious struggle, as the once enthusiastic and patriotic protagonist realises the reality of war, and learns that the bravado and heroism sung about at home is all a smokescreen to hide the brutality from everyone. He dies forgotten and alone, not as a hero like all the songs sing about.
