No game thus far would have me question wheather I'm "watching a movie or playing a games". Although graphics are extremely impressive, they are not quite there yet. However, I had a major emotional reaction to the first clip of Death Stranding 2. Geewizz!

I’m a father so it’s easy to trigger me by showing a child in distress - if that is done without purpose it angers me. It’s as simple as showing boobs and ass.

My point still stands though, there are emotions that should only be evoked for good reason and not just for show. Maybe there is more context to that scene in the game and it is part of some bigger story that explains a characters motivation - but I don’t like the way it is put in the trailer just to trigger our emotional reaction.

Lost Fragment is the only game that looks somewhat realistic. For all the other games it is clear that those are games. The dreampunk mod for cyberpunk also looks good but needs a beefy video card.

I was going to comment the same but since you've already said it I won't. Yes, this AI narration is very annoying. The tip off was some of the errors the voice made that a human would not say so it was obvious an AI voice reading from a text script that had a couple errors.

Marvel 1943 looks great as it's so difficult to get human face looking realistic, and the trailer looks like they are getting close (but with the help of being dark scenes). Lost Fragment looks very nice but environment is much easier to be made realistic looking.

all games look fake enough, that i do not wonder if i watch a tv show with real actors or 3d models mocapped. The majority of them have too shiny skins, almost plactic like. And still their behavior is not correct "something is off" feeling. (uncanny valley) bad video, it's morely a list you personally like to play.. but nothing groundbreaking to be honest.

Can't wait till KCD 2, but also terrified. KCD was so special, I don't see how they could do it again. A massive part of what made it special is the journey from nothing with Henry. Being a literal everyday layabout good at nothing and slowly becoming something special. Obviously, with the follow-up, Henry isn't starting from nothing.

If the current gen consoles are the focus platforms for these games development, it won't be possible to get much further with graphics than we already are. Neoberlin 2087 looked promising in the intro, however on the second showing it just looks like a mod for Cyberpunk 2077. Same for Spine. And considering both are 3rd person RPGs, i probably won't even try them out. Cyberpunk 2077 had the Half-Life thing going for it where it puts you in the skin of V and never brakes character. No cinematic scenes, no 3rd person. You experienced the entire game in first person and that's why it's so successful.

GTA 6 and Deathstranding 2 are the only 2 that have good looking character models, but those games have always been a step ahead, still not hyper real though, the others look last gen. But maybe the trailers are from console and will look better on pc.

The death stranding game will probably have the same hand animated movement that they used on the original metal gear solid, just like the last one. Doesn't matter how amazing it photorealistic the graphics are, if the characters aren't well motion captured beyond the cutscenes, it immediately looks fake. Same goes for all games..

Yes we hope the games get more realistic. Each generation of games are getting better and better. Even now when I go through Hogwarts Legacy, It is basically runs like a RPG movie with some player interactions in between. There is a video made of just the cut scenes of the Legacy game, and it looks like watching a movie.

Rockstar have a habit of improving graphics from trailer to release so I'm not worried. Red dead redemption 2 on ps4 still looks insane. My guess is Death Stranding 2 will look exactly the same as Death Stranding 1. They will reuse the same engine, add some new content in the way of gadgets to help traverse the land, and give players a couple of new maps to explore. And if you were a fan of the Trike from the first game, that will be removed and replaced by a wheelchair to help out Sam in his old age

Ok but why pretend that black American soldiers were in regular fighting units in WWII? There were black- only units but no integrated American infantry fighting units. This is well documented. I noticed this also in the first Captain America movie with a Black American, Asian, Hispanic, and native American in the same fighting unit with white American soldiers. Tell a good story but out of respect for the men that fought and died for this country, don't force a falsely inclusive historical narrative. History isn't always pretty, but at least it's true
