I had my first audition yesterday, I still can't believe it. And I have to be honest, for me... this one is not about getting the part or not, what I mean is... I'm pretty shy and I've been struggling with pretty bad anxiety. Last year it seemed impossible to be able to go to an audition because of nervousness and etc. And I did It!!! It's the first time that I can say Im proud of myself, that's what's important for me right now and I have to thank you and this channel for every advice and video. :)

Amazing! I’m glad to hear your positive outlook and strength to move forward and improve. You’re taking the important step in knowing which wins to be proud of. For many actors, their happiness depends on whether or not they book the part, instead of focusing on the wins and improvements they see elsewhere. We are all in a work of process to some degree, so I’m very happy to see your outlook on the situation 😊 many congratulations, I’m proud of you too!!! 😁👍🏼👍🏼

Recently I decided that I wanted to try an acting carreer. I was rewatching stranger things and started to have this desire to be on a great show like that. But I know its very hard to get there and I have some issues that makes it even harder. First of all i'm brazilian and I have no ideia on how I could go to the usa for acting there, i got no money to travel and I dont have any clue on how can I find a way to go to the usa. The second thing is that I dont have any experiencie in acting, so I started to search for acting classes in my city, I think I found a good class but i'm worried about what should I do to get noticed enough to work in another country, how can I show to the netflix producers that I exist living in another country? The third issue isn't really an issue but i'm disabled, I need to use a wheelchair and I also don't have any ideia on how things works for disabled actors and the frequency and kind of job that I cant get. I would really apreciate if you could give some guidance or anything like that, I really want to make it to the usa, but the journey seems so hard that i don't know what to do.

1. I’m still having lots of trouble making a monologue because I don’t know how to start doing one or what it should be about. 2. And how can I lose my nervousness and shyness into confidence. I feel really embarrassed acting in front of my parents, is there another way to do a self-tape without someone talking with me?
@TheActorsAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Check out some of my other monologue vids. You should find some of your answers there. In terms of your second question. You can record your part of the scene and take a pause for when your scene partner would need to speak and then later record the other persons audio and set it into your clip. This requires more dedicated time and has more potential room for error (wrong timing for audio pause) but this is another method actors will sometimes use.

2 years later, I went from Voice-Actor to Movie/TV Actor. Right here I understand lmao. It was my 3rd real Monologue. 7:38 I kept my hands out, eye contact. I was so anxious and everything I rehearsed went out the window. I'm now trying to get better, but... One thing I let them know is that I had a good personality. Even though they let me off, I wanted them to give me another chance you know?

One of my parents said that knowing the wrong way is better than knowing nothing. How could this be true in a good way?
@TheActorsAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Well if one knows nothing, than they simply know nothing (let’s use acting for example). If one knows what mistakes tend to be made by actors, even though the individual may know nothing, by learning what is bad, they can simply avoid making those negative choices 👍🏼
@legoboyo24793 жыл бұрын
@@TheActorsAcademy Ok.

But one of my parents told me learning bad information is better than learning no information at all. I don't know how learning bad information for something is good. I'd rather learn correct information.
@TheActorsAcademy3 жыл бұрын
It’s basically learn something or learn nothing. If you don’t know what not to do, you may make those exact mistakes. If you know what to not do, you won’t spend your time on the negative.... my suggestion would be to just ask your parent what they exactly meant. No guessing on your part that way 👍🏼
