Another player that deserves to be an honorable mention is Packers legend Sterling Sharpe. Had it not been for a freak neck injury, he would have put up some gaudy career numbers. In only 7 seasons, he led the league in receptions 3 times, touchdowns twice, and yards once, not to mention breaking what was the season receptions record in 1992 with 108, and topping that record the following season with 112

@winoodlesnoodles19842 жыл бұрын
@@brentjones886 Unfortunately, Sterling's window to get into the NFL HoF has expired. He is in the Packer HoF and the College Football HoF. Back in 2008 I visited the NFL HoF. They had a display for back to back years breaking the catch'/year record. I doubt the display is there any more, but I have the picture as witness to him being in the NFL HoF despite not being inducted. For the record, I just checked my pictures to make sure I got the information correct.

Luke Kuechly and Andrew Luck will always be the biggest stories for me when it comes to retiring too soon and injuries because their careers were completely derailed by crappy situations. Andrew Luck more than Kuechly. Luke Kuechly just had bad luck and when he hit people unfortunately had a bunch of concussions. Andrew Luck just had no help and every time he got hit they put him in the dirt hard and when I heard he lacerated his kidney I knew that was the end.
