After the Saints No-Call, the NFL pretended to implement a rule to prevent such shenanigans, but it was poorly applied - challenges were never upheld even if they were obviously missed - and that rule was quickly abandoned. Sean Payton showed up to a press conference after the incident wearing a T-shirt with Goodell sporting a clown nose on it.

So you think they passed on the call to rig the game? First if you're waiting round for a call to blow, what if it never happens? What if after the no call they Saints scored anyway and won the game? What if the next possession Goff tosses a pick-6? Fixing a football game is not that simple.

I played a one week hockey tournament in Detroit the year you guys drafted Suh. Then you drafted Abdullah(I’m from nebraska). Ever since then I’ve been a huge lions fan. I don’t know why, maybe I enjoy dissapointment, but regardless I watch them every week. I really fell in love with your city. I’ve always heard Detroit is a war zone and honestly, compared to omaha, it just seems bigger. Not worse, not better, just bigger. I recently went back again and visited downtown and bars around there, and I love the people of Detroit. Hardworking people with basically no concept of racial barriers or really any racial issue at all. Just me my brother and about 15 trade workers taking shots all night. God bless Detroit, everyone claims New York or LA or Atlanta or chicago are the city’s where you understand America but no. It’s Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati Baltimore. That’s where you really understand what America is. I had one of the best times of my life in Detroit, and it’s why I still watch the lions every week.

Just the TV coverage alone of that PIT-SEA Super Bowl left me scratching my head. They had short videos going to and from commercials of players with the Lombardi Trophy talking about what it would be like and how much it would mean to win it. That doesn't really stand out until you count the number of Steelers in those clips versus the number of Seahawks. It had to be about 90% Steelers.

Whether rigged or not I remember a play that ended up causing a rule change. The NY Jets beat the Seattle Seahawks on a touchdown that wasn't. Vinny Testaverde was tackled at the goal line. When he fell his HELMET crossed the goal line but the ball which was tucked at his waist did not. This loss kept Seattle from making the playoffs. The rule change was Instant replay challenges were brought into the game. The person who led the charge for the change. None other than Mike Holmgren who up until that season was against the Instant replay. Funny how 1 loss can change your position but if Refs had made the right call would Coach Holmgren changed his position?

Who cares? The game ended up going into overtime, the raiders defense had a complete do over and a second chance to stop the Patriots and re gain possession of the ball and they failed to do it. In my opinion, when the game goes to overtime, It does not matter what happened in regulation. You now have a second chance to step up and win the game. The Raiders couldn’t do it. I was at that Lions-Cowboys game. Lions are my fave team and I lived in Dallas at the time. Pete Morelli has screwed the Lions over multiple times but this was the worst. He announced it was a PI, the ball was moved, then everything stopped. Suddenly everyone started walking back 20 yards. There was NO PA announcement from the officials or Dallas guy. No one in the stadium, nor the teams, had a clue what was going on. It was never explained. During all this the big screens were showing the replay, which was BLATANT PI. After the game, wearing my Barry jersey, I even had Cowboys fans come up to me saying good game and we got screwed. It was that blatant. I would say karma hit them the next week, but the Packers get WAY too many beneficial calls, so I still hated that Dez call. The NFL is no longer enjoyable thanks to shite officiating.

As for the Bottlegate game: The NFL made it up to the Browns in 2007 in a game against the Ravens. In overtime, the Browns kicked what looked to be a double doink missed field goal, and the Ravens took over on downs and ran an offensive play. The refs then reviewed the field goal, after the Ravens had already run another play, and they changed the call because of where the second doink hit the crossbar, effectively giving the Browns the win.
@bdawg4231
@bdawg4231 8 ай бұрын
No... This isn't what happened at all.. Here's what actually happened: The Browns marched down the field in the 4th qtr trailing 30-27 - with 3 seconds to go in the game Dawson hits the 51 yard double doink to send the game into overtime. There was ZERO time on the clock - The Ravens never got the ball back to run an offensive play, nor did they run another play after that... lol - how could you be so wrong on this???? The Browns got the ball in over time and marched right down the field kicking the game winner right through the uprights.

One thing you missed about the Lions vs Dallas playoff game was that when the flag was thrown, Dez Bryant ran onto the field without a helmet, which is a personal foul, to yell at the refs for throwing the flag. The ref decided not to flag Bryant and also pick up the PI flag. Completely egregious call, and IMO is the reason the NFL overturned the "Dez Caught It" play. I dont think it has anything to do with the league loving Rogers, I think its that everyone was talking about how rigged Dallas vs Lions was, and did not want Dallas to then go on a run.

The "Fail Mary" was a good call by the letter of the rule. It doesn't matter who gets hands on the ball first, when everyone is still in the air. It isn't a catch, until you come down with it and complete it through contact with the ground, and by that time it was possessed by both the offensive and defensive player. Shared possession goes to the offense. It may suck, but that's the rule. Officials should have been fired over the Saints/Rams PI no-call, though. That was beyond dereliction of duty.

And, at this point, the people who refuse to see it are actually refusing to see it. I'm not being sarcastic. I'll never understand why so many people straight up want to be lied to. Why doesn't everyone have an innate desire to uncover the truth behind everything? Because they are afraid of what the herd will do to them once they espouse skepticism for things that are largely considered fully legit by the media and/or various millionaires & billionaires etc. Example: The mainstream idea is that there is no sports tampering happening in any sport (except maybe boxing), so you too need to espouse this idea to fit in. Any deviation from that line of reasoning will be met with public shaming and ridicule. And these people willingly live that life anyway. I've tried to explain to them that once you leave the herd, the herd will largely forget about you eventually, especially if you stay quiet, but they don't get it. They don't even know they have a deathgrip on their herd membership in the first place.

After just watching the Packers v Bucaners games I am now more in the camp of rigged games, not just from Refs but from players, too. Most notably QB's who always handle the ball, a fumble here, an interception there and the game outcome is changed. To add insult to injury is the point spread that gives them plausible denial ability. They do not even have to lose, so long as they keep it below the spread you can still win the game, beat or win the point spread and collect on the rigged bet and no one is the wiser.
@thyslop1737
@thyslop1737 Жыл бұрын
@Bread and Circuses Your illustration may be a little over the top or fanciful. Probably less people involved, just the key ones, to make it work. Is it rigged? Now I am very much leaning to that being the case. When I saw some things that made no sense to me in the latest Bucs v Packers game after having not watched a full NFL game in years my subsconscious mind would not let it go. Took me about three quarters for my mind to pop out the word "rigged". Then my buddy just said Lance Armstrong and cycling and that cinched it for me. There are unfathomable amounts of money in this game between advertisers, concession sales, tv rights, merch, gambling, etc means it is riff for corruption. And the point spread gives them petfect cover, a margin for error and plausible deniability. Once you sed it you cannot unsee it.

I'm pretty sure there was a game years ago where Vinny Testaverde was at least a year short of the end zone but they called it a TD. I vaguely remember that
@berachtdorian6191
@berachtdorian6191 Жыл бұрын
Yes. Testaverde was way short, his knees on the ground, and reached the ball into the end zone. At the time instant replay had been removed from the NFL, which meant that the call couldn't be overturned. The outrage over that play was a big part of bringing instant replay back. It's one of the most important plays in the history of the NFL, but it's almost completely forgotten.

Exactly. The Tuck Rule had been called a total of 6 times during that season. Everyone forgets that. Or doesn’t want to admit that it happened. It was the right call on a bad rule. Oakland didn’t get cheated. They made the correct call according to the rules in place at that time. And as you guys pointed out that call went against the Pats earlier in the year against the Jets. Even Belichick stated that when he saw the replay of Brady being hit he immediately said it would be ruled an incomplete pass because of the Tuck Rule. People that still argue this waiter just hate the Pats or don’t want to admit that it was the right call. No matter how you feel about though it was the correct call according to the NFL rule book

The power did give the Niners time to draw up a different game plan, gave them time to adjust their matchups and plan for what the Ravens had already shown them, if you've never played football at any level before that might be hard to comprehend but planning off of tape and planning off of what you've seen live in a game during halftime, or in this case a 45 minute break with the power going out are two different things and it absolutely made the difference because Baltimore was stomping them into oblivion before that. Either that or the NFL paid the Ravens to take a dive enough to make it interesting

I can say that the Kardashians are secretly planning world dominance, that doesn't mean the word is out. Nobody has actually figured out whether the league is rigged or not and if it is to what extent. People have only shared their theories and spoken their mind. Perhaps I should've said proof being leaked, people speaking up etc. . Some of the things that have been speculated are improbable to scheme and impossible to keep quiet.
