The start of the decade was fueds with CM Punk, Orton, and Nexus (even though it should have ended different the story still good up til that point). His matches with The Rock were huge draws to the company and one of the only things keeping some fans around. His fueds with Brock, while you could argue it was Brock who drew the fans you could say that Cena played the part of "guy fans want to see get crushed by Lesnar" or "guy who everyone just really wants to beat Brock". He had the whole John Laurinitis feud, the Authority storyline. Finally his amazing US Title run and fued with Roman Reigns that ultimately now gets him cheered. I think leaving Cena out is major recency bias.

John Cena should've been on the list as his work in the "2010s" was better and more critical than his work in the 00s. This isn't even a debate. He should've been within the top 5 of this list. Nonetheless, the list was good and placing Okada and Omega at #1 and #2 was perfect placement that most people will agree with. Okada vs Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 11 in 2017 is legitimately the greatest wrestling match in the history of this planet.

I feel like the only people whining about how anyone other than Okada should be #1 are the people who don't watch New Japan. The man is wont to put on an absolute modern classic anytime he steps foot into the ring, and unlike in cases of, say, AJ Styles or Seth Rollins, the people handling his booking are more than happy to showcase this tendency. I mean honestly, the only person who I might argue could be higher than Okada is Tanahashi, and that's just because he's in the same boat, really.

Yeah, I agree with some comments here. AJ Styles should be number 1. The dude has done absolutely EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE. From RoH, tna, njpw, wwe, the dude was unstoppable. His work rate and character work was absolutely insane from 2014-2017 and he is still going strong in wwe. He is legitimately one of the few "stars" that wwe has on their roster currently. 1. AJ Styles 2. Chris Jericho 3. CM Punk 4. Daniel Bryan I would've put punk and D bry higher, but punk retired and still hasn't returned yet so that took some points off and daniel bryan had to retire for a while, so it takes some points off.

And anything TNA from 07-2013 is pretty much bogus. I'm surprised they didn't go out of business. But his fueds with samoa Joe and Christopher daniels were fucking amazing. He did alright in TNA back then, but he was basically the backbone of that promotion for almost a decade and they didn't realize his potential. That's on the promotions fault, not his. When ranking wrestlers, you have to remember, try to base it off of their work ethic and their performances. Look at wrestlemania, would you say rollins is stronger than lesnar because he beat him twice? Hell no, that was just the booking decision that wwe wanted. But they both delivered a hell of a performance and lesnar isn't near the top 5, but when he wants to make someone look good, they look absolutely amazing. My rankings were based off of performances, work rate, effectiveness and efficiency and experience. AJ is a big player wherever he works. Jericho came back from retirement and was better than he was before, and his gimmick is that he gave AEW legitimacy, but it's actually kinda true. People know who he is and he brings a lot of eyes to the promotion so people can see the talent. Jericho is slowing down, but his matches are still entertaining as hell and theres not a wasted movement at all. Looking at it now, I probably should've put punk and d bry as honorable mentions because of the time they lost due to retirement. But eh

@@robertcooper4935 in fairness it's not about how long you do something, it 's what you do. you can certainly achieve something more substantial in 1 year than most could in 10. take the 90s, if you were creating a similar list for that decade the rock would deserve to be on it... pretty much exclusively for only 2 years of work. with the second year being the only time he'd been a big star. becky lynch has basically done the equivalent of what the rock did in the nineties. closed out the decade as one of the companies biggest ever stars. if you're being honest, cena didn't do anything this decade more impressive than that.

Okada is amazing but he was unable to be successful outside Japan (although he's able to speak pretty good English and has great charisma). Also IMO while judging a decade consistency is what matters the most (hence why I think that Becky and punk don't belong on the list). Someone who wins the top belt in TNA, NJPW (twice) and WWE in one decade should be considered the best wrestler period.

Not having John Cena on this list is an absolute joke! Keeping all the titles aside as well as the fact that he has been WWE's poster boy for atleast the first half of the decade, just think of the feuds and matches he has had- he started the decade with a massively underrated feud with Batista then went on to have rivalries with Punk(we all know how iconic that is), The Rock(divides opinion but was vastly important for the business thanks to its mainstream appeal) and Brock Lesnar earlier in the decade. Even in terms of match quality he has had such classics as MITB match vs Punk, Summerslam/Royal Rumble vs styles, Summerslam vs Daniel Bryan, Extreme Rules vs Lesnar(yes it definitely is an iconic match). He had other fairly good feuds with the likes if Kane, Big Show, Mark Henry and even Randy Orton. How exactly is Lesnar himself on the list but not John Cena? How are Rollins and Becky on this but not him?

He wasn't that good, his 2010 was nothing, 2011 was good for a month then WWE completely botched the storyline, had barely any good matches in 2012, only good thing was his heel turn, 2013 was fantastic but Okada and Styles had consistently amazing matches throughout the decade, had great storylines and had more success
