Things will happen outside of your control, no matter how hard to try to bend them to your will. Stoicism isn’t about being passive to get walked all over by others, it’s being about passive to the things outside of your control.

Depends on how you perceive “control”. Things outside of your control will happen in your life one way or another no matter what. When that happens you have the choice to be passive or active. It’s about letting go of the notion of having control over what happens to you, not letting go of your agency when said things happen
