This has always been my favorite Alice Cooper song. He was huge when I was young....in my world anyway.

My fave too! My first live concert was Alice Cooper when I was 8 years old. It kinda set the bar a little too high for all future live concerts lol. I'm like how come none of these other groups decapitate themselves, escape straight jackets, fight Michael Myers etc. Only Alice... Ps kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWq5aJZ7n8ukmMU

@@PAKiller1 Happy Birthday. Have fun at Alice for me; I looked at the schedule, he's not going anywhere near me. Looks like Nita Strauss is back with him. I've only seen him twice; once in the early 80's and then again about 15 years ago. Love, love Killer and Love it to Death, Like Schools Out and Welcome... but lost touch with him when he became more metal. I've been listening to the albums I never listened to before, like Hey Stoopid and From the inside. So, so in my opinion. Have a good time.

I remember reading in _Billion Dollar Baby: On Tour with the Alice Cooper Band_ how shabbily they treated Glen. When the band formed in Tempe, Arizona, Glen was the only musician. Glen took Dennis to buy his first bass and showed him how to play it. The last decent song Alice Cooper had was _Woman Machine,_ but since that was written by the band, not Vince, they had to beg to get it on an album

I have to come back to Halo about once a month. This is one of the most musical rock and roll songs ever written. There is so much going on here and it is performed masterfully by Ryan, Nita, Tommy and Chuck. Oh wait - Glen effin Sobel almost - just almost - steals the show on the skins. Best Coop song ever.

I remember doing guard duty in AUG. 1972 Ft. LeonardWood Missouri. The lights were dim I had the tuned into the local AOR station from Waynesville. And this came on. It spooked me. I already had the LP. But it was the quietness around me that did it. Another time it happened when "Black Ju Ju" came on another night of guard duty.

It’s called “hired gun”. Alice picks from a group of many musicians for his band, but the musician picked has to remain a top notch performer, or he/she is dropped and a new musician from the group is picked.

One of his Top 5 songs ever. SO well orchestrated. And for 1971 !? Genius. But let me add this.... bass player fail here, and keep the drums to the original please. No need for extended solo from anyone other than Neil Smith.

well put...but this is even shorter than recent years where bass player exchanges with crowd. HEY....HEY goes on for 2 minutes allowing AC a break and set up for next theatrical staging.

No need for a drum solo at all. If I never see another drum solo it will be too soon... but yes, Dennis' bass line there right before the great drum syncopation on the original is one of my favorite bits ever. He should have played that. And you're right, in 1971 this was such an amazing writing and arrangement accomplishment. Even today, every time Halo comes around in my Alice playlist, it makes me stop and listen. Every part of it, every phrase, every theme; it's just magnificent and majestic.

Hey there, "clubdoc"......Wow!! Your dialogue here is quite impressive...and a bit overwhelming in a nebulous and garrulous kind of way. You seem to have a propensity in using all seven types of thematic meaning in your semantics in explaining your conceptual, connotative, stylistic, affective, reflected, and collocative thoughts while conveying the logical, cognitive, and denotative content of your rather lengthy, inscrutable and syntaxical contribution here, which, consequentially, seems to be the essence of your rather dramatic contribution to this rather anti-lucid post of yours. But, who am I to judge someone whose syntax is correct, but....semantically incorrect....even though your laudatives contain articles in the appropriate places, the adjectives precede the nouns, and the verb is correctly conjugated. I'm not being pejorative....I'm simply assuming that you must have taken up an English / grammar course in college....or somethin'. Anyway....thanks for your intrinsic thoughts. I think all of your readers are impressed with you. But.....that's just my humble opinion. ~D.B.
