For me one of the most life changing turns I had with social media was realising I have control over the algorithms. Particularly on KZbin where I would waste hours watching videos of no substance. Now whenever a page the doesn't give me meaningful content comes in to my life I always flag it as "not interested" or "don't recommend me this channel" or whatever the equivalent is on whatever other platform I am using. And I have great and very healthy relationship with social media now.

I love that!! I’m going to keep that in mind - seriously so smart. So wise to try and eliminate the time wasting elements so you can focus on the parts you like!

i really needed this video rn, i have been too much addicted on Facebook lately and can't focus on study too much. also been affected by people's perfect life on social media which always lead me to depression. thank you girl!! have a good day

I deleted social media almost 2 years ago and have not looked back. I feel more connected to people and my surroundings without social media and also find I don't feel FOMO or suffer from comparison syndrome anymore. ❤️

Anika!!Grill! I honestly feel like we are the same person. I have been watching your videos now for a month and I love them. I also read your book on Kindle and it was fantastic!!!! I plan on buying the physical copy because that's how much I like it. We are close in age so I feel like a honestly have a big sister in this life thing. Wishing you the best in 2023.

Love this! Just deleted Tiktok from my phone. Spent too much time on it, and if I need to access saved videos for tips/recipes etc I can still log in to my computer. :)

I can really recommend the book ‘How to break up with your phone’ by Catherine Price for anyone that wants a 30 day plan to change your relationship with your phone. I did it last year and it was like having a supportive friend talk me through not only HOW to do it, but WHY…but the book isn’t pushy or preachy. It was an excellent balance of giving you the right information and suggesting ways to improve your relationship with your phone (and social media).

My screen time is horrible, I need to take care of that. So far I do use the gray scale aroumd 8pm to discourage myself from using the phone

I hear you - I work from my phone a lot too, which definitely doesn't help!! I love that idea of turning it on the evenings, so smart!

I found that I just don't connect with TikTok. I know some people love it and I almost feel bad that I don't, but I find short form content like that to actually be super annoying, especially if I don't know the people. 😂

THAT'S SO FAIR - I definitely prefer long-form content. I could watch KZbin for hours, and I feel like I get a lot more out of it too - but short-form content is only entertaining to me for brief periods of time
