this isn’t just a holy roller thing this is a very popular trick in metal mixing it’s been around for a couple decades. even lorna shores producer did it on their new album, back in the day metallica when recording the black had a mono rhythm track that was shifted and heavily distorted that just played the same thing the rhythms did to kinda mix in with the bass and it sounded cool, joe barrisi did it on Nico Chained’s older songs when he remixed them. it’s a cool trick used across many genres for a different effect and it’s honestly worth checking out if you yourself are a writer/producer

How do you like the pedal? I was inspired by them to looking to Whammy pedals as well, but I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with one until i got some more opinions about it them from metal guitarists.
@TheScott1670
@TheScott1670 3 жыл бұрын
@@datkid605 I really love it. I have a bunch of pedals but the whammy is the one I use the most at this point you can use it for a lot of genres outside of metal as well. It’s definitely worth buying in my opinion and super fun to play around with. Especially if you don’t have an 8 string or a 7 string and you want to play some lower tuned songs on your 6 you can just use the pedal to essentially drop tune your self into say, Drop E, and still have the string tension on your guitar

I also like the Cliff Burton, slide/scrape up an octave while pitch shifting down an octave, or vice versa. You get this growls effect like a pick scrape that is “moving” but not really because it start and ends on the same note in the same octave

Also, honourable mention for an insane whammy riff is Humanity's last breath, Bursting bowel of tellus at 2.17. One of the heaviest riffs ive heard in a long time, i dont think many bands can match busters sense for heaviness and just all the different aspects and elements that go into creating a heavy song but also a heavy and dark atmosphere. @euclidera
@euclidera 3 жыл бұрын
i bought my first floating bridge guitar recently, replaced all the strings, adjusted the height, and set up the intonation. It was a breeze, the bridge was 100% parallel to the body in the first try and it holds the tuning very well. And it is a Special bridge. I guess either people are too stupid/ignorant to the point they are incapable of learning such a simple system, or just plain lazy not to properly look something up before buying, so they just re-sell it and go around repeating the same bullshit about how horrible and borderline impossible it is to setup.

@@higler. Some people just dont like floating trems. I prefer solid bridges. Hell a guitar of mine has a floating bridge but youd have to stand on it to make it do anything as ive made it unmovable as i play in A standard on a 6 string.

I have a Digitech Whammy, a Digitech Drop and a boss GT-100 so for the spiritbox type of shenanigans if you guys (like me) cant afford a Quad Cortex, just make sure you have enough phisical pitch shifters for that. Other tip is if you guys use Neural or any other type of digital Plugins you have pretty cool midi control pedals you can setup for this type of things and all around cheaper solution to. *flies away*
