Oh yeah, without a doubt. I’m 18 years old, I used to babysit when I was like 14 at a daycare in my school. There were two kids that I got set up with to do activities with, one, a 5 year old boy who did not speak a word due to being autistic and nonverbal, and his 3 year old sister that you could just TELL he adored so much. One day all the kids in the daycare went outside with the adult staff to play while me and some other people set up the space for whatever we were doing next. I was working for a total of like 6 minutes before the 5 year old boy runs to me, tears streaming down his face. He told me, “I can’t find (sister), please find her!”. We ran outside and found her, she was fine, but I never heard him speak before that, and I never heard him speak again. I worked with those two for about a year and a half.

3 years ago, My little sisters were climbing on their dresser to see our lizard tank. Disaster struck and the dresser flipped on top of them. The glass tank broke and landed on top of the 5 year olds head and whole body and the dresser was on the 3 year olds head. I honestly have no idea how because I was 10 years old but I lifted the dresser fully up and rescued my 3 year old sister, all while screaming for my mother to come after she was on the other side of the house. She called 911 and they made it and had many stitches done and im so glad that I somehow had strength in such a difficult situation. It’s an older sibling instinct to spring into action in any situation of danger.

I loved all these stories but I didn’t see many talking about the boy who did CPR on his sister that he learned from a movie. I’m 38 and never learned from tv. Great job lil man!
@MickeyInSD3 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see CPR courses open up to kids in school. Just a brief course of how to call 911, slow bleeding, clear an airway.. That brother clearly had an interest in learning life saving strategies. I'd also love for CPR to be taught to parents to be, for free as part of getting prenatal medical care. People have hurt people attempting movie screen cpr. I'd hate for the other side of this outcome to happen to a kid trying to save they're sibling. What they don't tell people when they learn cpr is that often times ribs are broken performing cpr. But other things go wrong too. So in the instances that it's not necessary attempting movie cpr (most movies using a Hollywood sensationalized outdated technique), do more harm than good. But there are also many miracle stories and at times, any attempt to save a life is better than no attempt. I'm glad these outcomes were favorable. I also hope this kid got to learn CPR the correct way, chances are he'll get to be a hero again.
@southpaw95813 жыл бұрын
_Mickey_ that would be great. You should try to pitch the idea and make it a reality. 💯
@MickeyInSD3 жыл бұрын
@@southpaw9581 So it seems that some organizations are open to the idea of at least exposing kids to life saving techniques like CPR. I first learned at 9yo at swim class. It was brief exposure to the technique at the time, so it did not require the money it takes to run a full course. I still remember what I learned in that session today. But even we paid for me to be in swim classes so there is that... Money, which I don't have to pay instructors. I do have a friend that taught communities for the cost of materials, as most she was a volunteer instructor. It is still expensive to get certified. But certification aside, I get taught CPR for free through work and my sisters kids are old enough to be able to perform CPR (and even those that aren't strong enough to perform the technique could still be exposed to it, right?), I can still teach in an unsanctioned kind of way. That's how 911 Operators have to instruct people through the phone, don't they? Maybe they don't do that anymore... But maybe that's how we get more people in the know? Share what we know? There really is not much worse than feeling unable to help save a loved one because we lack knowledge that is available.

The kid getting kidnapped is absolutely horrible but the sight of the older brother running after him while pushing the stroller is hilarious

At least he had the presence of mind to take the stroller.

“How does it feel to get all this attention” Brother that saved his sister with CPR:”It feels good.” At first I chuckled, but really what an honest person. It does feel good to do good. How wonderful that the seed is planted in a person that watches and pays attention.

Nice to hear about kids that do good in their families for once in news. Instead of the kids that kill or get into trouble
