it's incredibly easy to glitch through in skyhold, since if the floor isn't fully loaded you just fall through it. happens to me a lot. so the fact that it was found so fast isn't much of a surprise.

i like the idea of specific creatures or enemies only spawning on cheating/exploiting players. In a solo game there’s almost never repercussions for cheating and i think adding an enemy to attack the player instead of just patching whatever exploit they’re using is more fun.

@@brendanmccarthy492 leaving exploits unattended may let the game look cheap or unprofessional They were clearly not meant to work that way, so it could just be their pride to fix whatever problems the game may have, similar to fixing glitches or bugs, just polish the games to its utmost Just my opinion tho, could be anything else

@@indigo7898 fixing an exploit is one thing, but creating a punishment for players using that exploit-- in a single player game/mode --is an entirely different matter in my opinion. If they want to fix an exploit, fine, whatever. But in a solo game/game mode there is no reason to deliberately take time and effort to code an actual punishment for the cheating player-- except spite, imo. The exploiters paid their money, they should be able to play the game however they like-- again with the caveat that they aren't doing it in multiplayer. The only reason you should punish a cheater, imo, is if they _are_ doing it in multiplayer-- which negatively affects the gaming experience of other players. I also have no problem with them turning off achievements if you use a cheat or something-- that's fine too, as achievements are a public reward system, and cheating to gain points can also negatively impact others, like all the players who toiled to earn their achievements the hard way. But actively creating an enemy to rip your head off, or some other deliberate punishment, for using a cheat of some kind in a single player experience makes no sense to me. Cheers

The idea of a weird enemy that only hackers/cheaters could find is pretty interesting. It just makes an area you're not supposed to be in feel more alienated. Like, when you go out of bounds, you don't usually expect there would be anything planned there. You'd feel safe from in game enemies, then there's this entity with no description that shouldn't exist, and its aftering you. Removing any safety or power you felt you had.

Nah, that will ruin people's fun and modder will have a way to get rid of It by make player completely unstoppable or give a weapon that instantly kills weird enemy. Think of It as anti-piracy measures like Serious Sam. And this weird enemy is pretty much normal. The better one is funny-looking strange entity that gave you strange feeling rather than scary and when contact with that, your game will instantly crashes and delete your savegames which make a weird enemy looks like a fairytale.

I didn't know the cow fiend was a thing until much later, gave it a shot and took it down at a much higher level than most would have at the start of the area. I don't remember a second one appearing in my game which was why I thought it was some weird Easter egg

I was simply saying that I recalled hearing something along the lines of if you managed to kill the first one, they would just send a second even stronger one to kill you. It was a long time since I remember hearing about it so I don't recall if the second one (and consecutive ones after) were just stronger than the previous one you killed or if they would just send one you couldn't kill if you took out the first.

I think more games should have secret enemies/bosses in general, but also having some to deter cheating is really fun too! It'll either work as a deterrent as intended, or act as an added challenge for the more hardcore gamers haha.

The document that I just discovered in that DLC right after the video states the vedending machines come from a nursing home province of Alberta that I live in. Had it been in a Hospital instead I would have stated it as the Cambsell hospital since that maybe the most haunted place in this province and it's only like 15 minutes from my house. Native american placed in full body casts tourment. They are making that place into condos and I bet there will be massive paranormal stuff coming out of that place.

I accidentally summoned the bovine defense force on my playthrough of the Witcher because I would just kill the cows every time I walked by for the meat and because it was fun. I didn't even know it was being used as an exploit to make extra gold.

The amount of gold you can get in the first area is rather scarce. And with that armor set at the vendor some of use kinda collected everything in the zone just to barely get the gold for the items. This is where people found out this little trick with the cows to just go across the river and kill > meditate 1 hour > kill .... > loot > sell hide > repeat for easy money at the start. So to combat this they ended up adding this enemy in a patch to stop it. Though the fun part is that you can more or less do the same with pigs at one of the first houses in the village. The loot is lower value than cow hides, but you get alot of it quick and there is no pig monster to hunt you down.

Fun Fact: The first spinoff game to minecraft, Minecraft dungeons, has gameplay very similar to that of the Diablo series, and as an homage to the secret cow level, there are secret Rune Temples found on most of the maps of Minecraft Dungeons' base game; these hold one of a number of runes with seemingly absurd power, raising magical towers in the distant fog as you summon the runestone. Once you find them all, with clues in a church at the homebase only reachable after finishing the game once, you see the runes placed in a wall at the back of the church, and a button opens the door to some great loot, and a map leading you to the rarest biome in minecraft: The Mooshroom Island, where "Mooshroom" cows roam the mycelium-covered fields, mushrooms growong from their very backs. Usually, they are passive mobs, running when you strike them, but in this secret mushroom cow level, the kick and bite at you, overwhelming you in vast hoard-herds, each with plenty of health and dealing a hefty amount of damage. If you can fight your way through the tough Hoard-herds(Hoerds?) You fight the single strongest boss in the base game; the Mooshroom Monstrosity, A new version of the Redstone Monstrosity boss, but covered in mycelium and with much more health, a new mushroom-missile shotgun attack that heavily discourages meelee combat, and the ability to summon MORE mooshrooms around you. He drops good loot though, and when you defeat him the level ends.

@@darth-severus true but they made an absolute mess of the chorts ai. Although they have high health and damage they are ridiculously easy to kill. Just make sure to keep quen on in case one of its stupidly easy to dodge attacks actually gets you.

Back in the early days of AION on PC when there were server que times, players would abuse the market system to avoid being disconnected for inactivity. This would basically make it impossible for players who weren't online to access the game In those early days I witnessed the GMs manifest themselves as giant squirrels and kill piles of markets with fireballs so they would get disconnected. Hilarious to behold, and genius way to solve a problem

In Amnesia, I found the water monster to be the least scary monster in the game. Not the most. I could watch it, take time to figure out its pattern, and know how to avoid it. Normally the monsters require in-the-moment running away and dodging.

Instead of spawning a special enemy to deal with cheaters, I remember the game Heretic punishing players when they attempted to use cheat codes to acquire weapons. Being released by Id Software, players tried to use the same codes they utilized in Doom, and when they did, the game took away their magical weapons and gave them a simple, wooden stick instead. It even told them, "You don't deserve weapons!"

Similarly, on Gradius 3 for the SNES (a Konami shooter) - Everyone would try the the Klassic Konami Kode (or, KK--- oooh... Waaaaait...) on the title screen, and nothing would happen. Next best place to test is pausing the game. Unpause and BOOM you explode For G3, pause and hit [Up Up Down Down L-button R-button L-Button R-button B A] and unpause to recieve a one-time fully powere-up ship Cute little punishment, honestly

I happened upon a Hiss-Vending Machine during a tough fight in Control, and it mortified me. In the midst of a firefight I just see a vending machine grinding up sparks as it slides across the ground with evil intent (perhaps preparing to dispense an empty bag of chips). If you leave it alone, it seems to try and disengage, and I spent the next several minutes trying to find it like a prop hunt game. From then on, I was convinced I would be accosted by machines for the duration of the game, but that was the only one I ever encountered. Maybe someday I'll meet another...maybe someday I'll get brandless chips from it.

Here's a bonus one: Red iridium bats in Stardew Valley. These almost impossibly rare enemies were only seen on Skull Cavern floors you essentially had to glitch to get to by dodging the sleep trigger when the clock strikes 2 AM. The enemy is from what I gather, more or less what you would get if you doubled all of the stats on the regular iridium bats, including move speed, damage output, etc. If you have monster spawns on your farm during the night enabled you might allegedly see one of these horrors, but again, this is like matching all the numbers on the RNG lottery ticket to actually have one spawn.

I honestly think this title is reaching a bit with the whole "You Weren't Suppose to See" bit. Let's see... #9 Kaernk - I guess this one fits the list in some way because we never actually see what the creature looks like in game and it was only revealed through concept art from the developer. #8 The Cow King - It's a secret boss in a secret level. Similar to an Easter Egg, these are made to be found by players who go looking hard enough for them...so I wouldn't say it "wasn't suppose to be seen." #7 The Smoke Monster - Another Easter Egg, made to be found by those who put in the effort to explore every corner of the map. #6 Lord of the Pies - I would say this one fits in some way because it was put in an area of the map players weren't technically suppose to even get. But in typical gamer fashion, there are always players that push every boundary until something breaks. #5 Bovine Defense Force - This was an enemy put in the game that was to stop players from "cheating" the in-game mechanics for easy progression in the game. So therefore, it was specifically "made to be seen" by those players who were farming the system. #4 Altered Vending Machines - This are just secret/hidden enemies that are made for players to find if they specifically go looking for them (or accidentally stumble upon them). #3 Chalice Dungeon Monsters - Again, these are just hidden/secret enemies tucked away that players can 100% see if they choose to do the Chalice Dungeons. You don't have to do the Chalice Dungeons if you don't want to, but they are there for players that do. So therefore those enemies were made to be seen by the players who decided to take on the extra challenges. #2 The Goombas - This is an Easter Egg. Easter Eggs are "made to be seen" by the players who go looking for them/explore every nook and cranny of the game world. #1 Lisa - You literally said she isn't exactly a hidden enemy. She is on full display in the game. The one thing you weren't suppose to see is the actual game mechanic that makes her work how she does as an enemy. So....in a list of "10 Enemies You Weren't Suppose to See"...you only had 9. And of that list of 9, only like 1...possibly 2 enemies actually "weren't suppose to be seen".

The Bovine Protection Force wasn’t that difficult to handle. Of course I was on my 2nd playthrough when I encountered it, so I can see a new player having serious difficulty, but there was years between playthrough 1 & 2

The water monster was never really scary to me, but the main monsters roaming the hall terrified me. You can be out of reach of the water monster, but if the ones roaming the hall see you there is nowhere out of reach but room transitions. And there’s never a guarantee that it wont show up in the next room.

There's a game for the Sega Saturn called Enemy Zero that features invisible monsters. You carry a small device that emits beeps at different pitches and rates depending on where the alien is in relation to you. To make things more fun, you had to charge your gun before you could fire it making for a nerve wracking experience.

An additional to the Bloodborne entry: Zulli the Witch also found a few chalice dungeons that were basically asset holders for the game. If you enter the glyphs for them you can actually enter them yourself and face a series of bosses that were actually never intended to be fought. There’s an alternative to the moon presence as well as a hell hound that hasn’t had it’s entire move set designed, so half of the time it deals damage to you when it just stands still. I don’t have the glyphs to hand, but Zulli has them in a video somewhere on here

Fun Fact: the Dying Light Mario Easter Egg rewards you with the Pyza Suit. Like the Tanuki suit, equipping it allowed you to glide instead of falling. I'm fairly confident this mechanic led to the creation of the gliders for Dying Light 2

The secret cow level was staple for diablo 2 and really helped bridge the gap when going from nightmare to hell. One of the best places for runes. I didn't know about the dying light level and I'm a little bitter about that considering how much I played that game. 😅

The enraged fog crawler from fallout 4 is an example, if you see this thing, bring a Gatling laser and a fusion core or 3. It’s got a ton of bullet resistance, so the best way to take it down would probably be with a blitz sneak attack with level 3 ninja and level 2 blitz, using the maxxed out sledgehammer from the nuka world dlc. Also any firearm that deals bleed damage will do.

I took it out with a single shot...sort of. Used the Nuka-Nuke launcher with fully upgraded explosives and heavy weapons perks, plus modded it to fire two rounds with each shot. The resulting mushroom cloud was awesome!

I played Inquisition heaps & stumbled across the Lord of the Pies really early on after the game's release because I walked into an area of the fortress that just didn't load correctly & I fell through the floor & there he was. I expect people wouldn't have found him so quickly were it not for how buggy Inquisition was when it launched. :P

I would have thrown in Professor Oak from Pokemon Red and Blue because you have to use a cheat code to battle him. This meant he was indented to be the final boss but was later taken of this capacity and left to be the one to grade if Pokedex and congratulate us after we win the Indigo leage. Which is sad because the remaining pokemon not chosen is raised to its full potential by Pro. Oak along with a solid team.

There was an old game called alternate reality the city and the second was the dungeon. It was on the Atari 800xl. When you transferred you character from one game to the other you would be attacked by FBI agents with the long arm of the law. It was suppose to be an anti piracy feature but they got something wrong and you needed to send your disk back for fixed ones. As there was no internet or video game coverage no one knew that there was a fix.

In Witcher III Wild Hunt you could kill the beast quite easily with the proper coating on your sword and with some skill. I would do it intentionally just to get the xp then I realized that after you killed it a few times the xp you gained was almost nothing. So you couldn't farm it for xp...you also get next to nothing in resources after the first one as well. They don't send harder or impossible to kill ones after the first one. They just made it not worth your while anymore. I have killed well over 20 of them just for the fun of it, normally whenever I pass through that area I'll make sure to kill a bunch of cows to have one summoned up to slaughter it for a laugh.

Backstory on The Secret Cow Level and Cow King: In Diablo 1's hub town, there's a cow hanging out on the outskirts. It does nothing of interest and after prodding it a bit, your character remarks, "Yup, that's a cow, all right." A rumor started that the cow somehow contained an Easter egg that led to a "secret cow level." It wasn't true, but Blizzard ran with it. The first StarCraft game had a cheat code, "there is no cow level," but in Diablo II, they finally decided to go all out. It was great fanservice and I remember laughing out loud at the listless human "mooing" of the enemies.🤣

Who green lit uploading this video as is? Title says 10, list only features 9, but in reality the list should only consist of 8 considering the Dragon Age Inquisition entry isn't an enemy, it's just a straight up easter egg and nothing else. Idk what this channel's definition of enemy is, but mine is something that attacks, causes damage, and/or kills the player either by going after your player character or you interacting with it. Lord of the Pies does none of these things, it merely forces you to load a previous save you had before glitching through the map, if there isn't a way to glitch yourself out and continue the game.

The amnesia water monster concept art was an early idea for water levels, swimming around like jaws, but the developers believed that it was a bit too cheesy and didn’t add the same level of unease. So they replaced it with the footsteps in the water. That is why the concept art doesn’t have feet

TLDR: *i found a more convoluted way to get into the mario room in dying light 1* I initially found the Mario level in dying light by glitching through the map and swimming over to it. there was this construction site in the city with a hole and if you hopped off the ladder for the hole in just the right way with a gas canaster placed just the right way at the top of the ladder than you would glitch through the map and into what I assume is the ocean that they just placed the entire map over. from there you would be able to see this large glowing mass that would throw you into the Mario stage if you swam over to it.

Left out a key fact about Diablo 2s Cow King. If you are the player to spawn the cow portal, you CAN NOT kill the king. If you do you can never make the cow level again on that character. You can kill the king for some great loot, but only if you are the host of the portal.
