I've worked as a swimming teacher teaching kids learning to swim at £15-25 an hour; very briefly as a lifeguard at around £12-15 an hour and now currently as a swimming coach with competetive swimmers earning around £20 an hour, I love it and really enjoy it as a swimmer myself but it's not really a career unless you progress as a coach which is what I'd like to do.

There is no limit, but there is a minimum age (18) to start the lifeguard training academy program: fire.lacounty.gov/be-a-lifeguard/

The high wages are for the year round California State Lifeguards. They are also peace officers. Little different than what you might imagine a seasonal lifeguard.

You should check the bluefit regulations are you a permanent resident ? You’ll need to do registered hours and have a cpr and working with children check and then an assessment
