I’ve had a mean cat, a crazy cat, and a few sweet cats. I had an independent cat, too. I didn’t have these cats all at the same time, but over the years. And I can certainly say that cats have different temperaments! When you find a sweet cat, you’re blessed.

@@faithwalker5196 Yes! I have had a mean cat that was crazy, too! She would jump into the refrigerator when the door was open and scratch and hiss if you tried to get her out. I would have to leave her in there for a few minutes until she decided that she was ready to come out!!

Absolutely love it. I like the navy curtains the best. You might think about painting the fireplace screen black and highlight with rub and buff gold. This will break up all the white. You really made it cozy. I'll be right over for a spot of tea!

If you have a Burlington store near you it's a great place to purchase velvet drapes very inexpensively. I treated myself to 2 pair of silvery gray lined velvet drapes a few years ago and they were about $20 a pair of 84"L set. I still have them and they're luxurious and beautiful. An added plus is that they block light and cold in the bedroom windows! Loving your candlesticks! I have 3 old bedpost in my garage and right after this video I'm going to make my own set! 💜😊

I'd say goal achieved! I thought I'd prefer the end table left as all wood, but, although I like both, I really think the black legs caused the wood top to really be noticed. With window treatments (having worked in JCPenney's drapery department), I always started with the question "Do you want the focus as you enter the room, to be on the windows or another item? If you want the windows to draw the eye, go contrasting, but if something else is to stand out, go with curtains in the color family of the walls in light to medium tones, so the eye continues on." I think it causes one to pause and look at windows as a possible focal point. Personally, this modern trend of just having blinds, or worse, nothing at all on windows, is such a missed opportunity to add so much character and texture to a room. Not to mention privacy! Good grief!

I love all your touches. I do the same in my home. Once I decide to move one decorative piece or painting I end up spending much time moving more and more. I'm 77 and have been doing this cozy and collected decorating since I was twenty! It's an obsession. Now I also do flips and keep finding more space for them ib my home. Loved when you said we're not hoarders -- we're collectors. That would be me! I collect copper, now have much of it and love it -- though I like it polished so it can be lots of work to keep it looking shiney. My grandfather (from Norway)made copper pieces for my grandmother way back when. My mom and four aunts all collected and enjotyed copper. Two of my cousins, my brother and I have carried on the love of copper! Love your videos. Wish you lived nearby because we have lots in common! I live in the central coast of CA.

WOW..... love it all. That sofa table vignette with the rusted birdcage is amazing! And the navy drapes, old trunk and touches of black really anchor the room. Love your vision. I love your touches and do uch decorating in my home. Lately I've been going to thrift stores and turning them into "treasures". Copper is something that I've been collecting since I was 20 because my grandfather made copper decorative items, my aunts and mother all decorated with much copper too. The only change I'd like to see is a huge one!! Paint fireplace a warmer color. My fireplace surround was white and just looked bad in my colorful home. I use much red as an accent in my home so I painted f.p. red with a wash of black. What a wonderful difference. Love watching your videos, get some great ideas from them, and find you enjoyable to watch. I'm 77 so certainly appreciate the antiques. Holly

And as far as bookcase decor goes- they are called BOOKCASES for a reason! I love that mixture of new, modern, old, recycled and vintage items. I've learned a lot from you. To move decoration around the house and, my favourite, to set like theme corners here and there.
