For number 4, the older Amy Pond couldn't go into the TARDIS as long as the younger one was already in there, so they couldn't take off because that would cause a time paradox. So the Doctor made Rory, her husband, decide. Rory chose the younger Amy that hadn't been left behind because they could then go forward with their lives and the older Amy would never have existed, and therefore they could escape.

The last one is the one that the Doctor himself casually dismisses, saying that the Weeping Angels are "the only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely". I had the impression that Diagaris and Dalek Sec became a symbiatic consciousness because Dalek Sec was combining their forms and NOT eating him. The two had seemed to have a strange friendship. Having a biped form, Sec might have needed an internal guide/cheerleader to stand and actually take a step that would have saved the Dalek race if the Cult of Skaro hadn't chickened out to the tune of "Exterminate.• Dalec Sec saved the Dalek race, the Cult of Skaro promptly murdered it. 1) The Doctor: Having to live with being the Doctor. For all the humor and quirkiness of the Doctor's personality, what's lurking underneath occasionally breaks through the surface, and it is almost invariably this endless well of pain and suffering, loss and loneliness that he's been witness to or had to bear over the course of his lives. That's sort of his character underneath, the tragedy of who he is. The Doctor can seem callous to all the things that go on around him-- all the death and suffering other people experience-- but the reason he keeps driving himself forward, on the edge of madness, is because he experiences everyone else's suffering along with them, as keenly as they do, and has to carry it forever because he's consigned himself to the role of having to be the one who bears it. And he bears it because deep down he thinks in the end, if he can't bear up underneath it-- if he can't carry the weight of the entire Universe when it can't carry itself and do what needs to be done no matter the cost-- then what was it all worth? No matter how much he runs, how silly he acts, or how much he tries to distract himself by trying to experience the wonders of the Universe through the adventures he takes his companions on, the pain of it all never really goes away. The wounds never really heal. They just get hidden under the veneer of him being a madman with a box.

"What do I call you?" "You call me... Sexy." "Only when we're alone!" "We are alone." "Oh... come on, then, Sexy." With each other is the one place both the Doctor and the TARDIS want to be. It wrecks the Doctor to have to see the TARDIS's life as a mortal being end, with the last thing he says to her being "please, I don't want you to," as she starts to fade away, and her saying "I love you" in return as she does. The TARDIS being the Doctor's prison would be about like me having to spend the rest of my life imprisoned in my dream house, except for absolutely any time I want to go anywhere or do anything, including hook up with a really cute guy and go on amazing globe-hopping adventures with him. You can call it a drug all you want, say it's as codependent as you want, explain how the two of them will always come back to each other. My simple response is that I chose the person I've spent the last twenty years of my life with, and he chose me. Is it a relationship other people would define as healthy? Dunno. Don't much care. It's the relationship we're happy with. There are things we love about each other, things we tolerate about each other, ways we encourage each other to be better, bad habits we encourage in each other, and things we're addicted to about one another. I'm a home-body, and he has a job that constantly takes him away and puts him in danger. It's not the life a lot of other people might choose, but I don't need a time machine to tell you that as long as we're alive, I will never leave him, and he will always come back to me. I found Amy and Rory's fate in The Angels take Manhattan a bit lame. Apparently, the Doctor would not be able to rescue Rory and Amy from the past they were sent to because the locality is time locked. There was nothing to stop the Doctor telling them to hop on a train and go to a different city and he will pick them up. Amy even left a message in the book they were reading at the start of the story. She could have left coordinates to be picked up. Also, in Blink the 10th Doctor and Martha were sent back to the 1960’s and that story ended with the Doctor remote controlling the Tardis to rescue them.

I also think what's worse than what happened to Singh and Diagoras is what led to what happened to them; after the Cult of Skaro exited the Void Ship, Dalek Sec asked Rose, Mickey and Singh who was the least important of the three and Singh nominated himself (effectively sacrificing his life for Rose and Mickey). Mr Diagoras meanwhile allied himself with the Daleks and he was told that his loyalty to them would be rewarded, only for them to kill him. And although I might not make this any better, but you do know that the Amy the Handbots killed was an alternate version while Amy from the real world was saved from them. Amy: You think you are just going to come back to life again? Rory: When don't I? You have to admit Rory has had it pretty rough. He had to wait over 1800 years. He has died like 7 different times. I think the only character to die more times in a series is Yamcha.
