Sri Lanka has a long way to go to develop the transportation system in the country. Even the local people are frustrated with the system. The train has to go through more difficult terrain than a bus on a road which is why the train takes longer time to arrive in Trincomalee. But the train journeys in Sri Lanka tend to be enjoyable compared to other countries which is why tourists like them.
