I wish Amazon had it where we can set up our own words as a wake up word. For me, it would be what room I’m in, ie: “kitchen”. I have an Echo in 80% of my house. So, to say the room as the wake-up word would be great.

I have been putting off converting my home into a "smart home".. I have been looking into whether I want to get the 4th gen echo or a echo show. We do have ring devices that would pair well with this, so this was a big help. I think I will just spend the extra $50 and get the show. Thanks!

I was trying to use the app find my phone. Went through all of the information and put it all in there then they wanted to charge me that may be something you might want to talk about. As you know I follow your channel and try to do as you recommend. This one was not so good

The "Show My Cameras" command did not work for me. It just responds with "Did you mean [Group Name]". Is there anything to configure? Perhaps it does not work on Show 5 (gen 2)?

So I found a page from Amazon describing it works on 8, 10 and 15. Which I guess makes sense given the low resolution on the 5. However, the command also doesn’t work for me on the 8 or the 15… it just mentions there is no group called my cameras 😢

I have a ring subscription service for my ring pro doorbell. Does this allow me to get the added quart features? I’m hearing they are taking away the free guard abilities, never ends what was free an now you pay, very unhappy 😞

Is there a skill that turns off multiple alarms in 1 voice command? I set echo dot to alam ever 10 mins for 1 hr on weekdays. But when I wake up earlier than the set alarms, I need a voice command to stop echo to alarm for the rest of the day.

I can't seem to find where you were talking about hooking your cameras up to Alexa I'm guessing they all have to be Wi-Fi not hardwired. Through another type of device I have 8 cameras that are hooked up through zozi. They are hardwired into a Wi-Fi box of Their Own

I have a ubiquiti network setup and when i try the show camera command its delayed some cameras just dont even show up until i run it multiple times. :(

The move music command didn't work for me, I was told I have to upgrade to the paid Amazon music level even though I was playing a song I own.

The cameras have to be ring or blink cameras, many third party cameras that are supposed to be compatible with Alexa and stream video, only notifications.

i want to mention also and add to the list in "Smart Home Remote " Samsung Smartag< !! i use it everywhere as a smartremote to turn off and on my lights, 2. its cheap compared to the same idea... as those Philips and aqara and the other remotes you mentioned downside... only works Samsung smartphone users. otherwise thanks for the video great job i didn't know i can move music thanks a lot man.

If FIND MY PHONE does not work in the UK a more straightforward fix is to say "Alexa Play John Cougar on my phone!" ETC, then Alexa will play that specific music on your phone, this seems to be the best workaround for UK people. Eg: Just replace after PLAY and before ON - "Alexa Play.....DEF LEPPARD... on my phone!"

Alexa "find my phone" no longer works in UK, you can use it by saying "Alexa, Call My Phone", instead. Although it isn't supported on the Firestick at the minute!

I agree with you, but remember every device, phone, tablet anything that has a microphone and data hook up is capable of the very same thing, so it comes down to who do you trust, Samsung, Google, Apple can all do the same thing, so if secrecy is a big issue, you better turn off every device you have, not just Amazon Alexa

Alexa I’m leaving stopped working for me and so did Alexa I’m home. I ended up calling Amazon and was told to try. Alexa Guard On or Alexa Guard Off. I find that harder to remember than simply saying I’m leaving or I’m home.

Your use of the word "spies" is a misleading and inaccurate. The word "listens" is accurate. If you are worried about being spied upon by BOTH audio and video 24/7 - then consider your cell phone, tablets, and smart televisions inside your home the most powerful spies in your life - even when those devices are physically turned "off." Again, even if your mobile phone is depowered (turned off), and it still has battery life, you have an active and involuntary listening and viewing device in your presence. Due to his lifestyle, I have a neighbor who purchased a small Faraday Cage for his mobile phone. Perhaps this would work for your privacy concerns. Personally, I don't worry about ALEXA spying or listening to my private conversations at home, because the BENEFITS of using such a device far outweigh the negative aspects of a company listening my boring conversations at home. Oh, and by the way, the fact you watch and comment on KZbin, tells me you are unaware of the fact Google knows more about your "private life" than you can possibly comprehend. °°
