Since it was difficult to get hold of Bollywood films in Russian in Germany and I had only just started learning Hindi, I discovered many films late, including Kajol. Even though I already had an audio cassette of the film Ishq. When friends of mine watched the film Gupt, and unfortunately I didn't understand much Hindi, they told me that someone was always killed by someone else, and I said it was Kajol. After watching Gargi I wasn't able to sleep for days, Often in cinema SA is used as a plot device or convenience to create sympathy without truly addressing the heinous nature of the crime and its impact on victims. Most often movies tends to depict the victim as someone's wife, daughter, or sister to evoke sympathy from us while glossing over the perpetrator's identity. that's where "Gargi" stands out by confronting the harsh reality that the perpetrator could be your father, brother, or husband.

in my opinion iratta's climax felt much more shocking than maharaja

It hits you terribly, even more so because you think Kashyap deserves his fate but in Iratta Joju George deserved a new lease of life and it was taken away from him for no fault of his. Heartbreaking

@@alitariq4243 Reason why I didn't see the parts of movies I hadn't watched. Anyway, no issue. There are just too may movies to see these days on OTT. And then there are hundreds stored in my hard drive that God knows whether I'll ever finish watching in my lifetime. So at least now there's one less movie to watch 😆

You missed Nagesh Kukunoor's 3 Deewarein. You'll never see the climax twist coming. Also Homi Adjania's Being Cyrus, a brilliant dark comedy with a twist at the end. Boman Irani's best role.

Abbas mastan were the king of such movies in 90s. Though many of them were copies but still they made some very good thrillers including khiladi, baazigar, hamraaz and many more. I remember when I watched Humraaz in theatre..audience were at the exit door before the pre climax scene assuming the movie is over but then had to come back to the seats to complete the movie. That movie was full of twists and turns.
