Well, in the Arcade release of Duck Hunt, you could, after a few "accidental" shots upon that aggravating Retriever, trigger a clip in game where he marches across the screen, throws down a deceased duck and cusses you out for shooting him and not the ducks, in so many words. And I am pretty sure it wasn't the Vs. version either. XD Oh, and how about a Top Ten Climactic Events in games that fell flat? Great video as always Jules, Stay safe and be well. =^.^=

It's funny to me that you mention the children of Skyrim because I absolutely adore Lucia from Whiterun and Sofie from Windhelm. You've got one girl hanging out with beggars learning how to beg for coin to stay fed and then you have the other selling flowers while sleeping in the snowy streets. Instantly tugged at my heartstrings that I've pretty much adopted them every playthrough. But I've never had issues with them. They always have nice things to say. Sometimes they ask for a present or allowance, but I'm all too happy to give to them after the hardships they've endured. The only kid I couldn't stand was Braith the bully. But I at least understand her being a product of neglectful parents. Sometimes I've killed her parents in the hopes that she'll be adopted by someone who actually wants to raise a child.

I always adopt those two kids with Hearthfire. The other ones in Skyrim, well that's what mods are made for. I have a mod that makes kids killable. I haven't used it yet, but it makes me feel better knowing it's there.

Great video, I also have some honorable mentions to add: 1-Maver Black-Brian (Skyrim) - Goodness, it doesn't matter which side you pick in Skyrim, there is always that one character, and if you go with the Imperial Legion, Maven ascends to a position of power. The problem is that all the bad deeds of the place she now rules trace their roots to her. So when you want justice, well, you may take down some of her family members, but you can't do anything to her. 2-Fi (The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword) - While I understand that many people may hate Navi from Ocarina of Time, it seems that Fi tops Navi as the "Captain Obvious" of the franchise as a whole. Pointing out to very obvious things you have to do while not being able to skip the sequences is super annoying and even though I believe in games being user friendly, this one is too much to bear. 3-*insert any character that you have to beat a whole game to be rescued here*... Now, some characters are worth saving since they may have been taken for unjust reasons. But others not often do they disappear too often (I'mlooking at you Toadstool Princess), but when you rescue them you get... nothing. Yeah, you went against unbelievable odds to rescue someone and you don't even get a nice reward for your troubles? I mean, as a gamer you may beat the game, but as the character of the game... well... you'd probably want them out of the planes of existence for not even saying thanks.

Another good one Jules- I came just for the Thumbnail and that Damn Duck Hunt Dog- I'm 47, and it STILL triggered anger from being a Teen in the 80's - Like, maybe the second time he Laughs, you clicked that Gun trying to pop him- and several times after that- you KNEW you couldn't shoot him, but you'd hear that clicking shot noise as you automatically tried to- picturing that Dog Dead in your mind- The Tom Nook breakdown was great too, are you his slave? No, but definitely his Indentured Servant for a period of 5-7 years- which is also historically frowned upon

A few of mine that didn't make the list: Ruto (Zelda: OoT) - I know Navi and Kaepora Gaebora are more annoying, but Ruto is an entitled brat who forces herself onto you as your fiancée without your consent. Every moment I saw her face, I wanted to strangle her. Gray (Harvest Moon 64) - His own sister calls him a "social disaster." Even when you and him become "friends," he gives you the cold shoulder. Worse, he (somehow) will marry the prettiest girl in the game (Popuri) if you don't. How the hell does he win _her_ heart? Every NPC who needs an escort (World of Warcraft) - I'm not even going to start with this one. They irritate me to no end.

That fucking dog from "Duck Hunt". Admittedly, this story resulted from childhood stupidity, but still: when I was between the ages of 5 - 7, I played tons of NES games, but owned very few. I had Mega Man 1, Mario 1, and Duck Hunt. The problem was, I didn't know that Duck Hunt required a special gun controller in order to play, so I would occasionally pop it in and try to figure it out on the regular brick controller. I did everything I could think of, trying to get this game to work (I actually ended up being convinced for years that something was broken/glitched) only to see that freaking dog laughing at me...over, and over, and over, and over, etc. Good thing that dog is invincible, because otherwise I might have to come back as an adult to get the last laugh. Not his fault I didn't know how to play the game, but still.

Duck Season also allows you to shoot the dog, but I wouldn't expect WhatCulture to reference that, since they seem determined to pretend VR doesn't exist.

In Outer Worlds you have two party members who are utterly insane. They will warn you, run ahead and butcher the lot and come back to see if you've ok. In FO 3 if he's your with Jericho will run after mole rats while I'm fighting mutants. A list of playable haracters who either help or hinder your progress or split between them. This obviously too long.

There are actually at least two decent children in Skyrim: Svari and Sissel. Svari is maybe the only polite child in Skyrim and the niece of Rogvir, the Solitude city guard who let Ulfric Stormcloak leave the city after killing the king. You see him being executed when you enter Solitude. Svari is heartbroken about her uncle's death and the despair her mother has fallen into. Fortunately, you can cheer Svari up a little by regaling her with a story about dragons. Unfortunately, the sidequest to try to cheer up her mother for her is bugged. Sissel lives in Rorikstead and his abused on a daily basis by her father and sister. The only way you can help her (and her jerk of a sister if you're feeling charitable) is to kill her father and adopt her from Honorhall Orphanage. Talking to Sissel also reveals that she's naturally gifted with magic and actually has visions of Paarthunax.

Jules, I loved this list but how could you not include Fi from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on it? Basically Fi is the unholy result of what happens when you give an already irritating character like Navi the fourth-wall breaking capabilities of Deadpool. Not only does she feel the need to chime in whenever you lock-on to an enemy or come across a locked door (or the million odd things that Navi also felt like she had to point out in Ocarina of Time) but also she had to have a go at you, the player! "You've been playing for a while, you should get some rest!" "The batteries in your Wiimote are getting really low!" Even worse there was no real way to silence her, take your frustrations out on her or leave her behind as she was the AI that inhabited the sword you took from the shrine back when your girlfriend was taken to the planet's surface, and you're stuck with her until the end of the game. Makes you regret ever drawing that sword from its pedestal to begin with, doesn't it?
