Yu.Gi-Oh on ds (not sure which one): The guy with the "Heart of the underdog" + "Exodia" deck? He plays the "underdog" on the first turn so often, and then just breezes trough his deck to either play anoter one or use his alternate win condition. (When you adapt your deck to eliminate the spell cards, he is easy because the rest of his deck are normal monsters.)

This may be a bit of a deep cut but an excellent candidate for this list would be the "Close To Me" boss battle in the indie rhythm game Just Beats And Shapes. While most people wouldn't regard rhythm games as story-based affair, this marriage of bullet hell manic panics with precision pattern memorization of the rhythm/music genre along with a touching if on the nose tale of the corrupting grasp that greed and industrialization can have on the natural world. So along with an awesome soundtrack of some of the best works of prominent electro artists such as Danimal Cannon, the story mode's toughest battles are as thematic as they are challenging. Thus it makes it all the more heart-breaking when your best friend is corrupted 2/3s into the game and turned into the most formidable boss in the game. Not only does it have some of the best mix up attacks in the game, an immense amount of map presence, a wide reach, and is among the longest tracks in the title but it also is a gut punch to watch your friend get destroyed from the inside by this corrupting energy while trying so desperately to fight against it.
