10 Japanese SNES Games Based on American Movie Blockbusters

In the 1990s, it was a common trend to outsource Western IPs to Japanese developers. Many of the most popular Western IPs of the time, from Disney and Marvel to Rambo and Ninja Turtles, were often outsourced to Japanese developers.
In that decade, the Japanese video game market was incredibly strong (unlike in today's digital age, where Japanese developments have lost a bit of hegemony to American and European production), so it was common for major film production companies to look to Japan when commissioning video game adaptations of their most popular Hollywood films.
This video covers at Super Nintendo japanese tie-ins of popular American blockbusters. It's very interesting to see how in some cases Japanese developers lost part of their identity to stay true to the Yankee IPs, while in other cases they brought the tropes of these movies to their home turf, resulting in a unique adaptation (in most cases with super deformed characters and vivid colors). We'll even see how some games based on these films were ultimately not imported from Japan, with titles exclusive to the Japanese market differing from other adaptations of these films commissioned from Western studios.
