Keto SAVED MY LIFE. Literally. I was dying slowly from Diabetes and obesity-related conditions. I have lost 126 pounds so far....BUT my Diabetes went AWAY completely after less than two months! My doctors are doing backflips of joy over my blood work and test results every time I go in, and my neighbors and friends are continually astonished. I have gotten a few people on the bandwagon, or at LEAST low-carb. One lady has lost 48 pounds so far and her knee pain is gone!

There are a couple keto pizza hacks I know of. You can put shredded cheese on a good nonstick hot pan and add your toppings and roll it up. Learned it from Erin Does The Keto. Also, if you nonstick spray a disposable pizza pan, add the sauce, then throw a handful of Parmesan down you can add your mozzarella and everything else on top of it. The parm holds the sauce together.

It's good to see that the keto trend is still going strong. I hope the world collectively will wake up and realize that refined carbs are causing all the health epidemics going on today. I never used to believe people who said they don't get colds or flu. I used to get sick several times a year, but I have gone about three years without any cold or flu since starting keto. My health is better than it has ever been, and I have also lost about 60 pounds. My core grocery items every month on keto are 1. eggs 2. cheese 3. ground beef 4. chicken breasts 5. peanut butter 6. pork rinds 7. coffee 8. cream 9. Sugar substitute 10. mixed nuts I spend about $250/mo. on keto. Not as much as you might think.

Fat bombs did the trick for me, and even though I'm now trying to wean myself off of them bc they still trigger a strong glycemic response, they kept me from quitting in the beginning. Somewhat unrelated, but also something I wish I'd been told as a woman beginning keto: you can eat all the right foods and stay in a calorie deficit and still gain 5 lbs before and/or during shark week. I gain about 3.5 lbs in 12 hours and lose it again in two days, and have learned that it's totally normal. If someone had told me this in the beginning, it would have saved me a lot of unnecessary stress and frustration. We have such a long way to go around nutrition in this country. Just met a new group of people yesterday, and the subject of nutrition came up. Everyone thought animal products where the cause of much disease. Everyone. They thought veganism was the best way to go. Nobody mentioned grains/sugars/carbs as the culprit. So sad and frustrating. I think it's probably going to take decades for this to change. In the meantime, my peeps--let's just keto on. :-) PS Excuse my Debbie downer moment here.

Its sad people think that way.. My sister had breast cancer this past year and they constantly told her that sugar feeds cancer... period. She had to eat low sugar and organic foods.
@monig53504 жыл бұрын
Health is one thing, sustainability is another. A big problem with animal products is that the animals they come from are raised in a way that is so harmful to the environment. If there was more push toward pasture-raising and humane practices, sustainability would be much improved.
@butterflyj6854 жыл бұрын
@@cheriwilliams8 I'm sorry about your sister. I also read articles on how certain cancers feed off of fat as well. No body really seems to be talking about that. On his youtube channel, Chris Beat Cancer, he had a guest that stated that it has been proven when you restrict one pathway for cancer to feed on, it finds another, whether it's sugar, protein or fat. That explains why those fasting clinics out in CA and around the world are so successful. They eliminate all foods. Make you take multivitamins, ensure your electrolytes stay up and monitor you closely with on staff medical care during your stay. Several people have reported being cancer free after 20 days or so. The cancer is completely starved and die. They urge people not to do it alone or at home without being in a facility like theres. Most likely insurance won't cover the stay or treatment and most people couldn't afford to pay for it on their own which is why they're not popular and used by the masses. Imagine if they were covered by insurance companies, and more people sought this type of care!

Dwight, here is a chef hint: put your organ meats (liver, kidney, heart, etc.) in a Ziploc bag with milk(gasp!- no worries, trust me), then marinate overnight or up to a day. When ready to cook: take meat out of bag, discard milk and bag, rinse meat with water thoroughly, then pat dry. Now cook as you will. The milk marinade is because the lactic acid draws out poisons and unhealthy chemicals that the organs normally process. This leaves you with nutrient dense delicious organ meat every time.

Same! 40lbs down since January last year. I tried keto as an experiment.. like let's see what happens, if it works it works if not I tried. Since my bday in Oct I've been on a break and I needed this list to remind me to get back to the basics. This is the only "diet" that has ever worked for me and I'm excited to get back on track.

I'm 71 & became sugar free 12/12/19. Worked on carbs (even ate bread that wasn't very good) till about 1/10/20. Since then I've had no sugar & none of the bad carbs (potatoes, pasta, bread) and it's been wonderful! Can't say what I've lost but I've lost! I've tried everything including surgery twice! This is the best thing I've done & I'm looking at it as a way of life ! Hope you'll be just as happy! Just remembered that I did see my doctor & had lost about 20 pounds & she took me off the diabetic medicine I was taking (left me on the insulin once a day) Good luck!🎶🌼🎶Stay healthy💞🌸💕

Also did not really do as much beef. But I got comfortable and let myself and go backwards. So this was an excellent motivation to get me started back. Thank you

I've done Keto for a really long time, but this last spring I got sick with a stomach virus that made me have to change my daily diet again. I still do Keto, but had to pretty much cut out all dairy. Before I would have some form of dairy with every meal. Heavy cream with my coffee, cheese on my eggs or chicken, cream cheese in a mug cake, and so forth. It's taken a bit, and discovering a lot more asian recipes, but even with added restrictions, keto is still very doable.

I would add Skinny Pasta konjac noodles. This is the only brand of this type of noodle that I can eat. I make an easy Pho with it that is good (Keto friendly meatballs, Skinny Pasta, bok choy, scallions, chicken broth, ginger, garlic, salt, pepper and a side of bean sprouts), I also put Rao's pasta sauce on it for an easy spaghetti meal. The other thing I would suggest is to try Megha's Eggroll in a Bowl. It's a staple in our house - we eat at least once a week.

Put the lid on, shake it up real well and put it in the freezer. The best I ever made was maple bacon with real bacon, maple extract and a little sugar/low carb free pancake syrup.

@@bobstanton713: Thanks Bob. Sounds like an easy way to go. Store bought is just a convenience item when I'm out or don't have time. I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker, and it makes great ice cream. I add a few splashes of vodka to keep it from going rock hard in the freezer. Still playing with the ratio of vodka to xanthan gum to get that perfect "real" ice cream consistency. But it's quite a production, with the cooking and egg tempering, etc., for really not a lot of ice cream and only one flavour at a time. I'll give your method a go though. Nice to do a bunch of different flavours. I'm a big coffee flavour fan. Thanks for the recipe! Maple/bacon sounds good to this Canadian! :)
