People forget the Certified Lover Boys had a custom tooling mold made for the heart studs which replaced the stars all over the midsole. Considering the tooling molds will probably never ve used on another shoe, that does elevate the sneaker a bit more.

idk as big fan of the Af1 I am and having dozens in my collection the ALYX Af1 has the best leather by far out of all of em even the Nocta drake Af1 and thats surprised me and I honestly like the subtle changes to the shoe the one piece toe box panel makes the shoe look more classy or high end like a designer shoe. Which I think is the point I do wish they put the metal lace loop piece on both sides vs just one. Also these won't crease as bad cause of that one piece panel so def a win win.

Some of the "failed" shoe collaborations feels like the shoe brand just didn't let the collaborator change what made the shoe iconic, for example the FOG slides. I'm sure FOG can elevate the slides, for example the Nike X FOG shoes were pretty fire IMO, but Adidas is just restrictive on FOG's style would affect the sale on their normal slides or tarnish the slide's iconic silhouette.

They really were the laziest shoes that were created, but I guess if someone is a fan of an artist, they will buy anything that is being offered that caries their name. You have to understand the meaning of a collab isn't all about ground breaking design changes, it's about how the two parties wanted for a specific product. If they decided to go with subtle changes, sure, and there will be people who appreciate those subtle changes. For Drakes's collab you failed to meantion the outsole changes that gave them a challenging time producing, if they were lazy they sure would have scratched that idea. Just my two cents.

I would dissagree for the Alyx AF1, Drake AF1 and Supreme AF1. Yes they aren't crazy, but they don't have to be. Simplicity is the key for making a timeless design. Alyx removed the panel, added the lighter metal part on the lacehole, changed the lace accessory and put "premium" leather. Drake AF1 you get "premium" leather, Nike made new molds for the outsoles (never done before to my knowledge), holes are different, leather inside and you have the charms. Supreme AF1 aren't bold which is unsual for supreme, you get lace accessory with supreme branding and a different inside (but they cost the same as normal AF1). We all love all white AF1. I got all 3 and love them equally. Familiar enough to make me wanna wear them all the time but different enough to differentiate them from the normal AF1.
