BTW the FX Ranchero Areo's over-the-barrel-desing was created to bypass german gun laws defining a gun by the projectile sliding through the barrel, limiting air guns to 7.5 Joules of muzzle energy (Every stronger air gun is considered a firearm and needs proper licensing and storage).

Anything above 0,5 Joule (wet farts) is considered a weapon and so you have to be 18 to buy and own and you are not allowed to carry it (only transport in a locked bag / case is ok). Everything above 7,5 Joules is A gun and needs the same permits as firearms in our great law. Airsoft that are above 0,5 Joules and under 7,5 Joules, but are fully automatic are ILLEGAL to own. No joke.

The cobra or the Ballista bat would be the choices i would make for a good option. I like the 5 round Steambow, but I really prefer a compact crossbow and air pressure guns rely on this to continually keep velocity. If you have ever used a co2 canister the first rounds are good but if you fire the rounds long enough you lose pressure and reliability of the weapon. Now as for the flamethrowers they are cute but there is no way I'm carrying a fire hazard around with me in any situation.

That CanCannon could probably be lethal or at least concussive. It would be traveling at 60 fps at the barrel to go 300feet, even if we ignore air resistance. That means it would need to be a much higher exit velocity WITH air, especially because of the non-aero shape of a can, to reach 300ft.

The "Bat crossbow" has tested at a maximum speed of around 270 FPS, it comes nowhere near their factory claim. The only way to reach the speed they claim is to use a lightweight bolt that they recommend not to use, it will absolutely cause limb failure within 5 shots causing possible massive injury to the shooter.

That "torsion crossbow" is a compound crossbow, not a recurve crossbow. The "crossbow pistol" is a "slingshot pistol". The slingshot pistol uses a spring to propel the projectile, like all the other slingshots. A recurve crossbow would use rope to move the projectile, and that rope is directly connected to the (leaf) spring. That a compound crossbow uses a rope which is connected to a rigid surface lever which is connected to the spring, in order to convert a short distance travel for the spring into a long distance travel for the rope.

The umerex TR 50 50 caliber hand gun co2 powered with the right ammo has really good knockdown power at nearly 500 fps it has a 6 shot revolver with a quick cartridge change out .at a price of around $100 bucks . A cheaper price with what I've seen is just as effective.

In 1500s early airguns were shooting at velicitys of 400-600. these were rare of course, but they could kill people, now I belive through most of the black powder Age(s) they were often 50 cal. (1779 giradoni air rifle was 800 fps for context it used 45 in the standard version) so my guess bullet would be a rubber bullet would be truely non-lethal, but the metal ball would still be just a conjecture

Modified Drodz Blackbird machine BB gun that runs on compressed air bottles and some expensive lithium batteries. OVER 1200 rounds per minute at 900 fps. very very lethal. People have taken deer with this set up. Over $1000 with all the goodies. I had one. It ran like a champ, but was VERY LOUD. I could not use it really in my back yard. But you could tear up a CINDER BLOCK with this thing. I did many times. I bought a cheap SCUBA tank and filled a smaller carbon fiber tank from the large SCUBA tank. CHEAP compressed air at 3000psi! Then regulated down so nothing would burst. Shooting the gun was safe. Being in the line of fire was not!!! Oh, I had 4,000 bb capacity. You could throw a LOT of lethal bb's down range

I don't like it for 2 reasons. 1) it needs an hour of charging. 2) it seems to be full auto. I'd rather opt for 3 round burst or single shot. This means the hour you spent charging it won't be wasted in just a minutes time and you'll be able to shoot many targets over time. What good is a defense weapon if you expend all the power and all the projectiles with your first and only shot?

@@DivergentDroid It has several options. 5 round burst / full auto. 3 power settings, max being around 16 joules, which is only around 40 feet max accuracy range, 30 feet effective range. This is not a serious self-defense weapon. Although to be fair, they absolutely hurt like a sonofabitch. So, in full auto at close range? Yeah, you're not going to kill anyone, but they aren't hanging around, and they'll be easy to identify with the dozens of blood blisters all over them. lol Unless you've got tons of money to burn, or are a techno-geek - I wouldn't bother. I really enjoyed getting to play around with one at a friends place the one time, but I wouldn't buy one.

I was actually one of the lucky ones who had the opportunity to purchase a ..Not-A-Flamethrower from The Boring Company. Most people are using them as a collector's item that will just sit and collect dust. I actually use mine all the time. I love using mine on wasp and hornets nest. I actually got to take a house down here in West Texas with it and I loved ever second of it lol. And yes whenever friends and family comes over they like to mess with it to. I take very good care of it but I am not scared to use it. I paid good money to have fun with it and believe me I have had a blast with it. There's not much more I can do with it that I haven't done a hundred and thirty five times already. Grown man toys do get boring after awhile
