KSG owner here. Only issue in a decade is one of the springs in a magazine went crap. Kel-Tec changed it for free. Packs quite a punch especially with slugs, but perfect for in home defense.

My KSG has never let me down. I had an incident where 3 pants halfway down hoodlums showed up to my door (no thanks to having a neighbor at the time that was a drug dealer). My KSG helped them make a fast decision. Also taught them how fast they can pull up their pants and run.

Someone is going to send their fingertips down range at 1,300 feet per second with that thing if they are new to firearms. There's very little to stop your hands sliding over the grip and in front of the muzzles.

Tavor TS12 is definitely my favorite of all, it replaced the spas 12 , as the bump in the night weapon, and yes, I have too many lights and lasers on it, but it only helps light up the area that is getting ready to be obliterated.😊.

I have a Mossberg 590 Shockwave. I put 1 3/4 inch Aquila shells into it so I get less recoil and still 12 gauge power. In addition I can put 9 of these shells in the stock mag. 👍👍

@johnmichael7983 I bought a feed adapter called an OS Clip. Some former law enforcement guy or military guy makes them. Popping them in the mag is a breeze. The cycle fine too. I've fired a couple boxes of shorts. No short slugs yet though. 😂

Any of these weird guns can be made from any old shotgun, and with a pistol grip , you get much better control, with a 10 inch bbl, you get more spread, and an effective range of about 19 feet, use a 16 to 20 inch instead

I agree that in general, a short barrel for a shotgun is a terrible idea - but I guess the point of it is making it as compact as possible. While a shotgun IMHO is a great option for Home Defence, I don’t agree with those who says you don’t need the range and that the spread is perfect to cover the entrance of a door. The only time I can see a short barrel shotgun being of any worth, is if it’s from a car where there’s a small space, (so you need it to be compact), and the point of entry is right next to you.

I just finished breaking in a Tokarev TBP 12 by putting a 100 rounds of mil-spec 12ga mags through it at the range. Out of a 100 rounds I only had one FTF and it was a simple rack of the slide to clear it. The OAL is only 28". Four or five extra 10rd or larger mags close by can give you all the firepower you need, and you won't have to pay $200 for a SBR stamp. And revolver shotguns are notorious for difficult spent shell extraction. Possible eye injury from blow-by from the barrel to cylinder gap. AND it's only 5 rounds. You couldn't RUN fast enough to give me one! If you want a compact home defense shotgun look at a semi-auto or pump bull-pup.

Keltec ks7 with hand rail replaced with weaver rail. One of the best home defense/hunt for cost in my opinion. i put flip up irons and a red dot on mine. very sharp lookin. it might not be star studded but it does everything well and reliable. love the 11rds of shorts to.

I had to send mine back to the factory, because it would lock up from any higher powered rounds, like high brass buckshot. They worked some magic on it and now it operates fine and much smoother. Great for tight quarters.

I own a KSG and would consider it anything BUT a novelty. It is a serious combat shotgun ideal for home use. This weapon will hold 22 + 1 of the 1 3/4 in mini shells. And is also chambered for 3" at 12 + 1.

Ok.. Watched the rest. From an actual shotgunner- they are all junk and/or way underpowered. Even a 20 gauge is borderline without the best loads. The Mossburg is a classic combat shotgun. The overall length of a shotgun does not determine it's lethality anymore than having a barrel-shroud on an AR-15 is going to make it more deadly. What determines a shotguns lethality has to do with what type of ammunition that is used. A slug fired out of a Mossberg 'Shockwave' with a 14.5" barrel is going to be just as lethal as one fired out of a Benelli shotgun with a 32" barrel.

My old 870 with light, side saddle and side folder has worked great for over 30 years. Actually use a Judge Ultralite with light rail and Federal 000 buck by the bedside in a Gun Vault. Great hallway load. An AR and 20 ga loaded with #3 buck in a biometric safe steps away. Carry is an M&P40 fullsize or G26 which is also available. I'm good. 😂

The last 3 guns are too "complicated" for civil use, when adrenaline grows high, and youre dealing with an unknown threat, inside your home, you will only want a straight barrel and a trigger to pull. Not even complicated aim sistems work this hours, but a laser beam would be very useful for a quick shot, and a strong flash light, to both see the intruder, and blind him or them at same time. Depends on the situation you will need precision, in that last case when you know, is just an execution, the assaulter is coming to kill you, youre going to die anyway, and a family member is beying used as hostage you will need a sharp shot using a well set and zeroed for 2,5 meters max, laser sight. Laser sights are pretty useful at night. When most part of assaults happens, and common aims are useless. Shotgun are useful when you live alone or in he field. But they loose value in which you need to hit the right target in middle of people.
