Shark Snack This won't disappoint. I'm quite aggressive with my speech. Because I want to get my points across quickly and effectively. Time is invaluable. I've done over 1,000 hours of Political and Philosophical research. I update this constantly, look for new versions if you're interested. I make a '*Right Now' playlist for the videos I'm watching every day. A lot of my Research Material is in my 'Proof of Concept' playlist. Here's my findings. :) (There's also Fun Facts and Exercise Advice.) In the wee hours of 9/11/17, I watched the movie 'Friday', after watching the American Horror Story Season 7 Pilot. The Lefty Brainwashing is so strong- I had to detox and was much happier watching a movie from 1995 about Black Neighborhood Life, rather than the Divisive Propaganda of Modern Media on TV. I ended that day by watching 'Next Friday', made in 2000, we can't live in the past forever, but Nostalgia for the Long Long Ago FeelsGoodMan. :D >One White Nationalist is Violent< *Reaction:* "ALL THESE VIOLENT NAZIS!!!!" >Islamists Behead and Enslave people consistently< *Reaction:* "That's not _all_ Muslims, you dumb bigot." This kind of thinking is what's causing Political Violence. Have you noticed how there's Political Violence? That's happening because people don't have Arguments. They have Outrage- Feelings. I'm trying to make the World an objectively better place. One Person and Comments Section at a time. There are Slaves still. Yet White Americans are Evil for partaking in and ending Slavery long ago. Nobody is even allowed to save people where there are Slaves to this day, and people that have never been Slaves, are complaining about their Ancestors being in Slavery. Yet don't care about the Millions that are Slaves today. We can't win with Logic, apparently. The Founding Father's of America allow us, through their actions, to prevent larger Wars, with War. Like how Land Conquests between Countries don't happen much anymore. Ever notice that? We're basically trying to force the World to be Peaceful, (Canada Loves it), one death of a person that doesn't allow World Peace at a time. Who else does that? (Without forcing Religious Ideology) I'm not saying that the US should determine how every System of Government that exists across the Globe should be, or choose the Leaders. Just enforce Peace, and make sure Innocent Peoples Natural Human Rights aren't being Infringed upon. Nobody else cares enough or has the Resources. America keeps all the other Western Countries from being Invaded with Guns, so the EU Politicians are bringing in Violent, Child Raping, Gay Murders to replace the Populace. But I'm the problem... Why? The Gawds I worship are RNGesus, Kek, and Lord Gaben. That's my Holy Trinity. I bought 45 games including XCOM 2, The Witcher III, Crusader Kings II, PUBG, and Ark/w Scorched Earth for *$269.24* during the Steam Summer Sale. Or I could have gotten only 4 of those brand new. >;D False Rape Allegations ruin Mens Public and Professional lives. Being kicked from College for something you didn't do, and being brandished as a Rapist does ruin your life. Yet the bitches get off free of consequences, when they could've had a Man imprisoned for something he didn't do. That says something about the power of White Knighting. Losers will do anything for Female Validation. Even jail an innocent Man. This is a decent Workout Regiment for anyone. Do 100 Push-Ups, Sit-Ups/w 20lbs or more of Weight, Arm Extensions/w Weight (From Feet to Full Overhead Extension), Squats/w Weight, and Punching Exercises with 5-10lbs, punching with both hands for every number. In sets of 33, 33, 34 for one day, then just 1 Set of 34 every other day. I do this plus around an hour of Cardio- you don't have to Run- just Jog and Fast Walk, but Running burns Calories faster. We're on our way, in America, to a Civil/Race War. All Racists should be called out, but they aren't, only one side is. Better get used to being pressured to feel 'White Guilt.' They think Reparations are Just, when 5% of people that are all long dead, owned people that are all long dead. And if that had never happened, the people that are here, asking for Money for Skin Color, wouldn't have been Born here. But Facts don't matter- just Feelings- when dealing with the Alt-Left. YT only cares about you if you stay PC and don't say anything against something a Feminist says is good. Susan, the CEO of YT is a SJW. She had the YT Team program the YT Video Monitoring Algorithm to target Keywords in the Title, Description, and Tags of all videos Uploaded, even if they're not Public. Then Blacklist Channels and put most of their videos in a "Limited State," also known as Demonetize them if it finds anything it's been told to dislike. I believe many channels like popular Music don't have these limitations. You also have to have 1,000 Views on your video before it qualifies for "Manual Review," so you miss out on that Ad Revenue, and can't have videos uploaded a week in advance, in Private, so they could be Manually Approved before the viewer rush when the Notification goes out. This is what Restricted Speech looks like. Not being given the same opportunities because of how you Speak. That's the most Anti-American bullshit that can happen. Get fucking Educated, Research for yourself, the Truth. People will just tell you what to think. Search for the Truth. The Internet is everywhere, you're just letting the Knowledge Potential go to waste. You're the only thing stopping You. (Besides Time) :) Here's why I hate Religion. 50 people spend 3 hours a week performing actions to praise Gawd.=150 Hours. Multiply that by 4 Weeks =600 Hours, Months =7,200 Hours, then Years(Let's say 70) =504,000 Hours. Now start that equation with 1 Billion People. That's why I hate Religion. It's a Waste of Time. Search "American Inventors" on Google Images. All Plastic is made from Dead Plants and Animals- It's a Refined Material made from Crude Oil from inside Earth. All Consoles, TVs, Tires, Phones, and Plastic Utensils. All of it was made from previously Living things. Let's hope Scientists can't find a way to imitate that. It'd probably eventually be used for Horrific things, and help Destroy the Environment. Build the Wall out of Hard Plastic from Landfills and line it with Solar Panels! :D There are 3 things I know of to modify text on YT. _ , - , and * . _This,_ -This,- and *This. ;)* Everything inside the symbols will change, they must be only touching one side of one character, with both on the very end of what you're changing. You cannot have anything touching the outside of the Symbols. Observe. *1* , *1 * *1*. :) Just because something doesn't make you feel good, doesn't mean it's not what's better for the World. Being a World Superpower doesn't happen without Money. Neither does Socialism. 50% of Americas spending is on Social and Welfare Benefits, 25% on the Military, and 16% on Education. We have a $20 Trillion Deficit, and it's not because of War. Many more people would be dead if other Countries were allowed to act as they like, and the Military keeps Americans Employed. I realize America isn't perfect. Too many Young Americans can't find a stable well-paying job to keep enough Taxes flowing because there's too many Older people on Socialist programs and Immigration never slowing down. 8.5 Million jobs across America are held by Illegal Immigrants. America isn't a natural Capitalist system. It's been tainted by the Government with overreach. True Capitalism is Contract Law and Property Rights, with minimal Taxes and Regulation. That's Capitalism. Marriage has become a raw deal for Men, a Man can be Cheated on, Abused, Arrested for False Allegations after a Woman is Upset with him, have his Children taken from him by the Mother, be kicked out of his own House Legally, and have to Pay Alimony for her to live life because of Family Court Bias. Feminists are adapting and creating Laws that fit their Narrative. They're changing the way Children think with In-School Indoctrination (Safe- Schools Program), and trying to eradicate Traditional Gender Roles. There are Sexual Orientations, not creatable Genders or Sexes. There are Males, Females, Hermaphrodites, and Trans people. So there's people with natural born mutations, and there are also Trans people, but those aren't new Sexes or Genders. They transition from either Male to Female or Female to Male. That is Trans-itioning. Facts, Logic, Science, and Observable Reality are all Tools of the Patriarchy. :') Ya know, it doesn't feel good to know about the Islamic Grooming Gangs that select European Women and Highschool Girls to Rape, typically for not wearing a Hijab and not being Muslim. I just don't want Women to be Raped. But no, I'm clearly "The Patriarchy" and oppress women by being a Straight White Male. Fucking god this shit makes my brain hurt. I am the same species as inbred child rapists. This has nothing to do with Race. It's _all_ about how people behave. Why the fuck are so many Western people too blind, stupid, and sensitive to conceptualize and confront reality? Hiding from these things allows for Women to be Raped and Murdered. But you probably dislike ME for just talking about it and trying to solve it. Fuck you stupid Virtue Signaling Snowflakes that do. Muslim Rapefugees/Immigrants negatively impact Western Culture and Civilizations on a Net scale. Islamists will Kill, Convert, or Enslave everyone you know if given the chance. 50% of British Muslims wouldn't Report a Terror Plot if discovered. They're NOT defending slavery. They're just trying to draw 1000 red herrings across the trail in order to defend that cesspool called the Confederacy and absolve all the traitors who made war against the government they'd sworn to defend, like Robert E Lee and Jefferson Davis.
@russlehman20704 жыл бұрын
@@drisko0007 I will give the leaders of the Confederacy credit for one thing: They, in all probability, ended slavery in the US much sooner than it would have ended otherwise. Lincoln was not an abolitionist. However, he did want to prohibit further expansion of slavery into the territories. Due to butthurt about not being able to export their "way of life" to the West, they hatched the brilliant scheme of secession. My guess (and all anybody can do is guess) is that, had the southern states accepted the election of Lincoln, and worked on thwarting his agenda in Congress, slavery would have persisted another 30 - 50 years. Instead, they ended it in 5 years, but at a horrible cost (born mostly by the South) in death and destruction.

Also, I will take no personal responsibility for that institution whatsoever. I don't know where they're getting their facts. I taught American history for decades. Many of the assertions are just flat out wrong. I and every U.S. history teacher I talked with in my decades long career taught that the abolitionists were a tiny minority until well into the Civil War. We taught that the North was implicit in the slave trade from colonial times. We taught that the South absolutely left the Union over slavery and the other reasons usually given done so after the war and would not have on their own caused Secession. Only one quarter of southerners did own slaves and the vast majority of that 25% owned three or less. Of course 50% of Confederate officers owned slaves. The officer core was made up of plantation owning families! The amazing thing was that only half the confederate office corp. owned slaves. Top 10''s insistent need to make the USA evil and ignorant is a common theme in many of their videos. For instance they insist that the USA has one of the highest if not the highest incarceration rates in the world. This is true. If you actually trust the figures put out by China, Russia, Iran North Korea, etc. When you factor in the numbers from such independent agencies like Amnesty international, etc. The USA falls down that list mighty fast. One may question why one should automatically believe such independent agencies. OK. Fair enough. But then why would you automatically believe the numbers provided to you by nations that have lied to the rest of the world time and time again? To reiterate, I and my fellow US history teachers did not teach the history of slavery the way they not only imply but flat out state we do. Where the hell did Top 10 get their facts? A Alabama history book from 1951? A website called, 'The Southern cause, done taught right..., yeehaw"? @@robertharris6092 Well not exactly on agreed to it willingly. A lot of indentured servants were people who were convicted of crimes and had a choice between being hanged (and you could get hanged for a lot of crimes then, even petty theft) and being transported to the colonies. The were made indentured servants to pay for the cost of being transported by ship. I wouldn't exactly call accepting transportation and indentured servitude in lieu of being hanged "agreed to it willingly", though there were likely some people who wanted to come and accepted indentured servitude because they couldn't pay for their passage any other way. An interesting historical tidbit. The Pilgrims who cam over on the Mayflower were originally supposed to go to Virginia and become indentured servants. They had a "navigation error" (which probably wasn't an error at all) and ended up in Massachusetts and started their own colony. Another interesting tidbit. Ben Franklin wrote an essay (probably originally an editorial in one of his newspapers) entitled "Transporting Rattlesnakes" in which he objected to England's practice of dumping their criminals in the colonies. In that essay, he suggested that for every criminal transported from England to the colonies, the colonies should transport one rattlesnake to England.'

I especially love how he says indentured servants could simply work their way to freedom. The reality is most died more indebted than when they started. There is enough truth to their basic treatment being better, such as beating a slave to death was viewed as just a troublesome slave, while beating an indentured servant was still viewed as criminal. Advancing such falsehood as them being able to work to freedom is completely unnecessary to get the point across.

Most of the things you can say about indentured servitude also apply to prison labor. 1) Prisoners still had rights. 2) Unless you're sentenced to life in prison, prison labor isn't permanent. 3) Your children are not born slaves if you're in prison. 4) You can't be bought or sold in prison.

Prison labor isn't permanent, but slaves could always attempt to run away much easier than prisoners can. 3. Children aren't born prisoners but that all gets fixed with the implementation of the school to prison pipeline and studies down show children from broken families have a greater chance of going to prison plus ex-prisoners have a greater chance of reoffending, so this argument you make is really whack and lacks understanding. 4. Slavery in America was instituted in North America by the Brits long before America existed. Slavery is the topic that had to be fudged in the Constitution to get America formed and was a topic kicked down the road for decades. The topic finally came to a head with a series of weak Presidents before Lincoln and the addition of new states into the Union. Slavery became entwined with the states' rights issue. Tariffs unfavorable to the South were passed by the Northern states inflaming the states' rights issue and making a strong federal government hated by the South. Very few of the Union soldiers fought to free the slaves. Saving the Union was the cause. Several quotes by Lincoln made this clear. Recorded interviews by Civil War veterans also made this point. It is not clear however that the Constitution prohibited states from removing themselves from the United States. This is the reason the Confederacy President, Jefferson Davis, was never brought to trial but released. It was not certain the US would win it's case against him. The US government did not want the basis of fighting the Civil War invalidated. The Constitution did not prevent secession. The 14th Amendment passed in 1868 made secession impossible and closed the loop-hole. The 13th Amendment passed in December 1865 after the Civil War finally made slavery illegal. The Civil War was about two major issues, and it required two amendments to the Constitution to put them to bed. To this day many Southerners refer to the Civil War as The War of Northern Aggression.

In general this video is correct, but the point about the Irish is both wrong and right. The British parliamentarians, after winning the English Civil War, went to Ireland and committed one of the worst genocides in European history. 1/2 of the entire population of Ireland was slaughtered. Up to 16,000 Irish were sold off as slaves to owners in the Caribbean. So no, the Irish were not slaves in what became the USA, but they certainly were enslaved in the New World. Perhaps a minor technical distinction, but not one that should be forgotten. The genocide in Ireland by Cromwell's forces was truly extreme. "To hell or Connacht"

While generally accurate there is one major flaw in this analysis. The Civil War was not about slavery. The Civil War was about secession. Slavery was certainly the main catalyst for secession. But the speaker contradicts himself in some of his other analysis, for example, he says many Union soldiers deserted when they thought the war was about slavery. But Lincoln, who forced the war, made it starkly clear the war was about secession in his letter the Horace Greeley, an abolitionist who was sorely disappointed that Lincoln had not freed the slaves. DEAR SIR: I have just read yours of the 19th..... I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored the nearer the Union will be "the Union as it was." If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time save Slavery, I do not agree with them. If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy Slavery, I do not agree with them. My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or destroy Slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves, I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone, I would also do that. What I do about Slavery and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save this Union, and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union..... I have here stated my purpose according to my view of official duty, and I intend no modification of my oft-expressed personal wish that all men, everywhere, could be free. Yours, A. LINCOLN.

The csa government told all federal forces to get of southern territory. We might have fired the first shots you are the ones who threaten us and our ancestors to fight. Also as soon we said certain states succeeded from the union which if you succeed from something you are no longer part of that something. There is quite the technical difference. The Civil War was not fought because of slavery. The secession of southern states was about slavery. The war was fought because Lincoln did not accept southern secession where he kept troops stationed in what was now a foreign country. The assault on Fort Sumter was due to the refusal of the Union Army to leave South Carolina. The assault was then used as a justification to go to war.

Actually no the secession wasn't about slavery either, the first State to secede did so in December of 1860. What happened in November of 1860? Lincoln won the Presidency with just under 40% of the popular vote. Now when else have I heard about States talking secession after a president won the election with less than half the popular vote? Hmmmm...... That is what the secession was over, not slavery, but purely States saying "This Union isn't working how you told us it would, we're out" and the Union saying "Too bad, once you are in you can't get out". It is literally no different than when the colonies originally left the British crown only in the case of the southern states they lost and didn't get to become a new country.

The true picture of Celtic enslavement began long before indentured servitude was implemented - convicts were transported to the new colony for life and sold to landowners for very little cost - the offences responsible for transportation were insignificant - convicts received the most brutal and inhumane treatment - a quick reading of Cromwell's personal letters will quickly reveal his delight in condemning entire Irish and Scottish villages to transportation - the Great Dispossession - only the war of independence put a stop to this evil practice that was cunningly replaced by indebted servitude and greatly increased importation of black slaves - albeit at greatly increased cost - convict labour was nearly free of cost. The Celts have not forgotten the Great Dispossession and both the USA and Australia bear the distasteful scars of it to this day - the English continue to deny that Holocaust too. If the Germans had done it we'd still be hearing about it on a weekly basis.

You are terribly wrong. Forrest's had 43 if his former slaves fought with him the whole war. They fought with the white Calvery Rider's. They had up to four Pistols, a rifle and the same uniforms. They ate and slept with the white Calvery. Forrest said there we're no better Confederate's and fighters than them. When Forrest's Surrendered he had 68 black Soldiers on his Muster Role. You don't know a damn thing. The North had about 500,000 Slaves at the beginning of the war. Grant had slaves during and after the war. He didn't free the last one until the 13th Admendment was ratified. Grant told Lincoln if he thought the war was to free the slaves he would give his sword to the South. He also said he would lose two thirds of his Army. Lincoln proposed the original 13th Admendment to the South about a month before Ft. Sumter that if the South would ratify the Admendment it would lock down Slavery in the Constitution. If the South Seceded over Slavery why didn't they take that deal. Also the Emancipation Proclamation didn't free one slave. It didn't free Slaves in Border and Northern State's. Lincoln had no authority in the South. Also you don't know that the Emancipation Proclamation told the South if they would come back to the Union by January 31,1863 the South could keep their slaves. Why didn't a tiny starving Army jump on that deal. The North invaded the South over Southern Wealth. The South was 30% of the population of the Union and paid 85% of the Revenue. The South was out numbered in the Halls of Congress and Legislation always favoured the North. The South also fought against the Power of the a rising Central Government and a National Bank. Your presentation defends a Tyrant that is responsible for over 700,000 people's death. And that doesn't include the thousands of Slaves the Northern Troops let starve and drowned trying to follow them. Union Troops would pull up the pontoon bridges and not allow them to cross. I would ask you to learn a little bit more about Civil War and you have not been taught anything about the truth. You just spill the same trash that has been thrown out there. For your #10 point, while it's true that abolitionism was not hugely popular in the North before the war, it's also true that the North was anti-slavery. They didn't want new states to be slave states, they didn't like the Fugitive Slave Act, they didn't like the plans of some Southerners to conquer Cuba or Mexico and make them into slavery havens, and they didn't like the pro-slavery interlopers in Kansas. What set them apart from the Abolitionists was their belief that slavery could be allowed to die on its own, in the South, or be slowly constricted, with compensation paid to slave-owners. It's also true that as the war progressed, and Northern soldiers came into contact with the thousands of freed and/or displaced slaves who followed the Northern armies as they marched through the South, they began to see the horrors of slavery and became invested in ending it.
@PrimoMagazine6 жыл бұрын
The abolitionists had a very popular and well organized political party - it was called the Republican Party. Their first party platform in 1856 was simple and direct: end slavery and end polygamy/bigamy in every state of the country. Abolitionists were Republicans and Republicans were abolitionists. Thus...not sure why he's saying abolitionists were a tiny minority. The Republicans won Congress and the presidency in 1860; just six years after the party was founded in 1854. That doesn't sound like a tiny minority to me.
@willgoetz12626 жыл бұрын
I think he mis-spoke. He probably should have discussed the motives behind abolition. There certainly were a large number of abolitionists, otherwise it would not have even been an issue. I think the number who wanted abolition for benevolent reasons is the minority. The majority of abolitionists probably wanted to get rid of slavery because they simply didn't want blacks (or other minorities) in their communities at all. And of course to accomplish this, well you kind of had to get rid of slavery.
@kennethferland55796 жыл бұрын
It's more accurate to say that was the agenda of the radical Republicans, much of the party was composed of earlier Whigs who were homeless after that party disintegrated over the issue. Stopping the expansion of slavery into new western states (Free Soil) and particularly stopping it's expansion into the North would have been universally agreed upon positions in the Republican party of the time. Lincoln was a moderate in that vein and thus the compromise pick at the party convention.

Cotton was exported to both the North and Europe (especially the English Midlands). However, during the rise of the textile industry until the start of the Civil War (~1793-1861), EVERY Northern State eliminated slavery some rapidly (VT, MASS) others taking longer (NY). Basically the textile interests bought the product, they didn't influence much how it was grown. After 1861, Egypt became increasingly important as a source of cotton.

Except later in the war, it *did* become the aim of many Union soldiers, as they conducted campaigns across the south and started actually witnessing the horrors of slavery.

@FJ Biden The Proclamation was an executive order by the Commander-in chief that applied to the war zones. How do get ratification? When I look at the US Census for 1865, I see in the Northern state a handful of elderly slaves in NJ. You're not trying to conflate Northern states with Union states?

Does the prison slavery really count? They're still given basic human rights, which you yourself said discounted Irish indentured servitude.
@cigarboxguitar80266 жыл бұрын
Yeah if you can justify prisoners as slaves, you can justify the irish servants as slaves, as they were also prisoners who were made to work to pay off their debt.
Also remember, that just because someone was in favor of abolishing slavery, it did not mean that they were in favor of granting social equality to freed slaves. Prior to the war Lincoln never questioned the legality of slavery where it already existed. He and the Republican Party just wanted to contain it and gradually phase it out and make it as least painful to the slaveholders ad possible. There is no record anywhere that Lincoln advocated social equality and in order to appeal to a racist northern electorate he would not have been able to advocate it because public opinion would not allow it. But to be fair, when he finally did embrace the abolitionist cause, Lincoln was determined to see it through.

True, Lincoln was more or less a man of his times, but he did have a great respect for the blacks who fought for the union and gradually came around to the abolitionist cause because he felt he owed it to the black soldiers who fought and died for the Union. He also had great respect for Frederick Douglas, whom he met with several times during the war. Near the end of his life, he did toy with the idea of giving black union veterans the right to vote, but that’s as far as he got. While he was a supporter of the American colonization society, which sought to settle free blacks in Liberia, early in life, he did come to terms that blacks were in America to stay. They just would not be social equals.

2:20 I have a counter rebuttal. Slavery was the cause of the rich slaveholding elites but not for poorer whites and even if they did they were drafted into fighting. And I am sorry but I believe a lot of southerners fought because they felt they were being invaded including conservative Virginia who did not want to secede to begin with over the issue of slavery. They did sympathize with the south and many were slaveowners but they didn’t go immediately with SC in 1860, this meaning that while they were worried about slave issues it didn’t lead them to war over it. What led them to war was Abraham Lincoln’s proclamation forcing them to choose between serving the wishes of the president and fighting a war they didn’t even want to fight to begin with or fighting alongside the south. And technically I am sorry but Lincoln according to northern and southern individuals had no right to call for troops. Not without congress’s approval so he was doing something illegal and even if southerners were also supporting slavery I am calling Lincoln out for illegal action and hastiness. If I were the president my main goal would be compromise and preserving the union through peace. His actions only deepened the crisis. Who knows if peace could have been agreed upon after Sumter. Idc about him humiliating the country in front of the southern slaveholders. The blood of millions of northern boys were on his hands

Acdragonrider: You have your facts wrong sir! Lincoln introduced (proposed) Amendment 13 (the Emancipation Proclamation to the Congress in 1863! The war started in 1961! The amendment passed by one vote after the war ended in 1865! // The war was fought over free states and the sovereign states of America lost their independence to the feds after the war! // It was never about slavery or the republican party. It was about The greedy Federal government wanting more power and control. // Since this video did nothing for you I suggest you do more research on US History. // The dumbing down of the USA was introduced to our Schools back in the 60s for the future of Globalization.(it's in the last book of the Bible written over 2000 yrs ago) It's a slow movement. In Europe it goes by the name of the Illuminati as the European Union swallows up shallow countries in the name of protection! LOL // In the USA it's the CFR. (look it up) The New World Order is very alive and active all over the world. I starts with Socialism that becomes a dictatorship and the The Globalist take over!

South Carolina seceded before Lincoln was even Inaugurated. Lincoln wasn't an Abolitionist; he objected to the spread of Slavery into the Free States, and stated it was his personal belief that nothing is wrong if Slavery is not wrong, but protected by the Constitution. Since the Dred Scott decision ruled that a slave was still a slave when his master took him to a Free State... how is that still a Free State? Then there's the Fugitive Slave Act which meant that Free States had to actually aid the Slave States in capturing escaped slaves and returning them to slavery... so how is that a Free State? The first shot was taken by the South on the federal property of Ft. Sumter. "The Constitution, ratified in 1789, created a strong central government. To support federal power to enforce the law, Congress passed the Militia Law of 1792. This law allowed Congress to raise a militia to 'execute the laws of the union, (and) suppress insurrections.'” However Congress was not in session; hence Lincoln acted and then Congress approved it when they returned. And as Lincoln answered himself, the Union precedes the Constitution. States Rights had come up decades earlier (South Carolina tried Nullification) and prompted the following: 'Hoping for sympathy from President Jackson, Calhoun and the other states-rights party members sought to trap Jackson into a pro-states-rights public pronouncement at a Jefferson birthday celebration in April 1832. Some of the guests gave toasts which sought to establish a connection between a states-rights view of government and nullification. Finally, Jackson's turn to give a toast came, and he rose and challenged those present, "OUR FEDERAL UNION - IT MUST BE PRESERVED." If South Carolina hadn't backed down then you bet Old Hickory would have gone down there and it wouldn't have been pretty.

@Michael Timely of course look at all the regulations we American's have now through the feds, the States and the Local yokels! That's what the war was fought over Mike. The Feds taking control and they did. Didn't they?

The total compiled dead was about 600,000 not millions. // Of course the war wasn't about slavery! It was about the Feds (Lincoln) issuing regulations to all the sovereign states! They were losing their sovereignty to the Feds. Jeff Davis was a very smart man and a great American that served in the union Army and the government. He damn near pulled it off. // Now look at all the regulations we American's have as the federal Gov keeps expanding! We're regulated through the feds, the States and the Local yokels! That's what the war was fought over. The Feds taking control and they did. Didn't they?
